Nail Of The Day – Boots 17 Lasting Fix Indigo & Glitter Mix

062015 Boots 17 Indigo PLUS glitter mixHi there! Here’s another quick NOTD post. I haven’t taken pics of my nails in ages because I haven’t done any spectacular manis lately. I also broke a nail (middle finger – again!), so I’m only showing you my ring finger and my pinkie this time.

I’m currently wearing Boots 17 Lasting Fix Indigo and a few sprinkles of a loose glitter mix which I bought online. I really like this mani – it’s happy and cheerful and the colourful glitter looks great on the purple polish.

What do you think of glitter manis? Feel free to comment. And thanks for checking out my blog!

Olay Anti-Wrinkle Nature Fusion Anti-Ageing Day Fluid

Hi there! I’m still working my way through Olay’s beauty assortment. Whilst I have found my favourite moisturiser, I can’t stop trying all of Olay’s offerings. ūüôā So for the past week I have used Olay Anti-Wrinkle Nature Fusion Anti-Ageing Day Fluid (What a name!) and I’m ready to review the product.

Let me tell you right away that this moisturiser is nice enough, but it will not become one of my beauty staples. My husband seems to like it though! If you read on, I’ll tell you why it’s not perfect for me, but why my husband is quite fond of it.
Olay Nature Fusion
This Olay Nature Fusion Day Fluid is a light moisturiser with SPF. I think it’s great for summer because it doesn’t clog pores, and it will please ladies with normal or oily skin because the formula is not too rich. The clean and green scent highlights the ‘nature’ theme of this product.

However, I’ve got dry skin and I think this day fluid is simply not enough for my skin-type. I also prefer ‘yellow’ scents, so the leafy green scent of this moisturiser is not my favourite. Whilst I won’t be buying this product for myself again, my husband likes to use it on his face because…

… he has rather oily skin and this moisturiser is perfect for him because it doesn’t give his face an oily shine. He also likes the green scent because it’s rather unisex. And he is happy that this moisturiser contains SPF, so he doesn’t have to worry about the sun burning his pale skin.

In summary, this moisturiser is not for me, but I’m glad that my husband not only uses it because someone has to, but because he really likes the product. If you would like to try Olay Anti-Wrinkle Nature Fusion Anti-Ageing Day Fluid, the 100 ml bottle is ¬£10, but there is always a half price or BOGOF offer somewhere.

NSPA Fresh Sweet Raspberry Shower & Bath Gel, Rich Body Butter, Fragrance Body Mist

Hi there! I’ve been shopping for toiletries again and I found an interesting looking spa-themed body care collection at Asda: NSPA. They do shower and bath gels, body scrubs, body butters and body mists with different scents (mango, raspberry, vanilla, coconut, passion fruit, etc.).

The products are £3 each, but they had a 3 for £4 offer so I opted for three products from the raspberry collection: NSPA Fresh Sweet Raspberry Shower & Bath Gel, Rich Body Butter and Fragrance Body Mist.
NSPA Raspberry
Let me start with the Shower & Bath Gel. If you love the scent and flavour of raspberries, this is a shower gel you should try. The raspberry scent is sweet and quite intense – almost like the real thing. Well done NSPA and Asda! A big plus: You’ll get a 500 ml bottle for ¬£3 which is great value.

Up next is the Rich Body Butter: I’m enjoying this body butter very much at the moment. It’s indeed rich and I can see this one becoming a winter favourite because it really takes care of dry skin. This sweetly-scented raspberry body butter is priced at ¬£3 for a 200 ml tub.

The Fragrance Body Mist is almost literally the icing on the cake. If you want to smell of summery and sweet raspberries, spray this fragrance all over your body. Whilst the raspberry body mist won’t last all day, it really helps if you moisturise your skin with the matching body butter first. In any event, ¬£3 get you a 200 ml bottle which means you’ll get plenty of product to douse yourself in. Incredible value!

I’m very pleased with NSPA‘s offerings and would recommend them if you love raspberry-scented body care products. The fruity products are ¬£3 each , but at the moment most full-size NSPA products are ¬£1.97 only at Asda (I just checked online).

Superdrug Cocoa Butter Body Lotion

Superdrug Cocoa Body LotionHi there! If you follow my blog, you have probably noticed that I’m not only in love with new beauty products, but also love a classic. I mean ‘products the internet has forgotten about’, or simply,¬† discontinued products.

Superdrug has launched a new body care range earlier this year. I’m really happy with the new products, but I do miss some of the old ones, like this one: The one and only Superdrug Cocoa Butter Body Lotion.

This was my last bottle. And I’ve just finished it. I’ve gone through the 300 ml bottle in under three weeks and now that it’s gone I know how much I’ll miss it.

Superdrug did a fantastic job with this product – it’s an incredible moisturiser. I’ve got really dry skin (and regular eczema outbreaks on top of that…), but this body lotion is so good that my skin feels dewy and soft even after a long day.

And then there’s the scent: warm, intense, natural and sweet cocoa powder – just yummy! There are other really nice cocoa butter products out there, but the scent of this one is quite unique. I will miss it!

Olay Anti-Wrinkle Firm & Lift Eye Renewal Gel

Hi there! Here’s another Olay post; this time I’m reviewing Olay Anti-Wrinkle Firm & Lift Eye Renewal Gel. This product targets wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness and it claims to give you a ‘firmer looking eye contour in 21 days. So does it work? I’ve been using this eye gel for a few weeks now, and I’m not only happy with it, I’m blown away. If you read on, I’ll tell you why.
Olay Anti-Wrinkle Firm and Lift Eye Renewal Gel
Thanks to Olay I haven’t had any real wrinkles to begin with. However, I have noticed a few lines which resulted from a recurring angioedema which I battled a couple of months ago. At first I thought it would take months go get rid of these lines, but at some point I realised I would have to make peace with them.

But after using this eye gel twice a day – morning and night – for ten days, the lines disappeared. Completely. I can’t believe how easy it actually was – all it took was the right product from my favourite skin care brand. I couldn’t be happier!

I’ve also noticed that my dark circles have improved a lot in the past few weeks. All my life I’ve had dark circles and I didn’t think anything could be done. However,¬† this eye gel helped a lot. I can’t tell you exactly how much the dark circles have improved, but I wouldn’t even call them dark circles anymore. The skin under my eyes is still a bit darker than the rest of my face, but it’s no longer a purplish grey area that needs lots of concealer. Again, I couldn’t be happier!

If you look for an effective, yet affordable anti-wrinkle eye product, look no further! Seriously, I cannot recommend¬†Olay Anti-Wrinkle Firm & Lift Eye Renewal Gel enough. The 15 ml tub (which will last you for several months even if you use the product twice daily) is usually ¬£10, but there’s always a BOGOF or half price offer at some drugstore or supermarket. (At the time I’m writing this post, this eye gel is ¬£5 at Wilko’s and ¬£4.95 at Superdrug’s.)

Miss Sporty Studio Colour Duo Eye Shadow 204 Babe

Hi there! I’ve added a nother mini eyeshadow duo to my beauty stash. This is Miss Sporty Studio Colour Duo Eye Shadow 204 Babe. I got this one for 50p, so I won’t moan about how disappointed I was when I realised this was a sparkly eye duo (I swear it looked matte in store). Anyway, I managed to work it into my routine.¬† ūüôā
Miss Sporty Studio Colour Duo Eye Shadows 204 Babe
I would describe the two eyeshadows as a pale lavender and a soft purple. I’ve taken photos with and without flash. For some reason the shimmer doesn’t show up in the bottom swatch (no flash), but you can trust me, it’s there. And it’s quite prominent.

In terms of quality, I’m happy with the intensity of the colours and that they stay put. They’re just as good as Rimmel or Sleek eyeshadows. Whilst I wouldn’t do an eye make-up with these two shades only, I’ve done a few nice looks combining these two with greens and neutrals from my Garden of Eden palette.

I believe Miss Sporty Studio Colour Duo Eye Shadow 204 Babe has been discontinued, but you might still find it online or in a bargain store.
