Hi there! Today’s post is about a guilty pleasure of mine – Jennifer Lopez Live EDP. It’s one of my favourite fragrances. But I try to keep it a secret in real life. 😉
What I love about Live is that it’s not like ‘all the other fruity fragrances’, and that it’s definitely one of the best celebrity fragrances out there.
Live is full of live. It’s juicy, it’s sunny, it’s full of energy, it’s optimistic and it’s youthful. It’s alive. I think most fruity fragrances smell pink, but Live is different. It smells yellow! 🙂
Now, Live contains the following fragrance notes: Sicilian lemon, Italian orange and pineapple (top notes), redcurrant, peony and violet (heart notes), and tonka beans, sandalwood and caramel (base notes). Live sounds delicious, doesn’t it?
I think Live smells like a mix of fresh pineapple, caramel and vanilla with a hint of powder. It’s perfect for the colder seasons because the juicy, tropical fragrance is a real pick-me-up. But it’s just as perfect for the hottest summer days because it’s not too sweet. Yes, it’s got all these sweet notes, but it’s a lot more juicy and sunny than it is sweet. Like I said, it’s a yellow fragrance.
Jennifer Lopez Live is available as 30, 50 and 100ml EDP. Prices vary greatly – the RRP for the small 30ml bottle is around £24. However, lots of stores sell the big 100ml bottle for under £20.

Thanks. 🙂 I think it makes sense to describe fragrances with the help of colours. I’m sure most of us would instantly know the difference betweeen a blue and a green fragrance. 😉

ok you have me curious now! I’ll have to look out for it at Winners, I’m pretty sure they pop up once in a while.
I don’t buy celebrity perfumes because I imagine they all smell the same and don’t last. Although, I’ve learned from fivezero’s blog that there are some exceptions like Jessica Simpson and Hilary Duff. Here’s a great post she did:

Hi Stashy, yes, try Live. It’s soooo juicy and youthful. And it was composed by the renowned perfumer Dominique Ropion.
There really are a few nice celebrity perfumes out there (I just re-read fivezero’s post), but you’re right about the majority of them being completely interchangeable (and many of them smell of overly ripe fruit and vanilla sugar…).

Oh Stashy, try J Lo’s Glow fragrance. I haven’t used it in ages (it’s somewhere around the house….) so I couldn’t describe it right now, but that one is a creamy skin fragrance. It’s the original ‘nude’ fragrance.
Oh, and some of the Victoria Beckham fragrances are very nice – especially Signature which smells like a grown-up high end fragrance. I always get lots of compliments when I wear it. Once someone even told me I smelled divine!

That’s a really beautiful bottle, though (maybe minus the big JLo insignia there.) But if it works for you! It’s not a celebrity fragrance, and I won’t say which one because lots of people wear it, but I used to wear this one fragrance that was just really kind of trashy and super kiddy – like Tinkerbell cosmetics for kids. I got over it fast, but I still smell it EVERYWHERE. Couldn’t even hold on to that one as a guilty pleasure!

My husband calls it the I Dream Of Jeannie bottle. 🙂 I’m not really into celebrity fragrance, but this one is really lovely, and like I said, I keep it a secret in real life. 😉
