Hi there! Not too long ago I bought Superdrug’s Vitamin E Skin Care Leave-On Moisture Mask for the first time. This mask is a serum-like gel which is packed with vitamins (E, A, B, F, H) and other goodies like horse chestnut extract and jojoba oil.
You’re supposed to apply the mask after you’ve cleansed your face, and to leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes. Then you’re supposed to either massage the excess product into your skin, or remove it with a cotton wool pad. I’ve been using this mask for a few weeks now – but not as directed. 😉 Read on, I’ll tell you more!
When I used the mask for the first time, I found the strong coconut fragrance too overwhelming. I thought I’d never be able to use this mask on a weekly basis. But fortunately the fragrance didn’t linger for too long. And once the fragrance had evaporated, I took a closer look at the product – and my face.
What happened? Well, first of all I loved the way my skin looked. I have dry and moody skin, and on top of that I also have eczema. But this mask made my skin look all plump and supple – within minutes! And this is when I knew the mask and I would be friends. 🙂
I think it’s remarkable how I went from “Ugh, coconuts!” to “Wow, this is magic!” in about 10 minutes. I rarely change my mind about products – certainly not within minutes. But I’m glad I gave this mask a chance. Otherwise I would have missed out. Big time!
How do I use this mask? I’ve never been wasteful with products. And I don’t see why I should apply too much product when I’d have to wipe off the excess or make an effort to massage it into my skin after a few minutes. So what do I do now? Once a week I use this mask as a night cream. I apply a generous (but not wasteful) amount of product to my face before I go to bed. And when I get up in the morning, my skin feels soft and supple, and it looks nourished. I love it!
I would definitely recommend this face mask to everyone. It’s awesome, it’s cheap, and it even helps with dry patches. If it didn’t smell of coconuts, this mask would be my Number 1 favourite product this month.
Superdrug’s Vitamin E Skin Care Leave-On Moisture Mask is available as 100ml for £2.99. But Superdrug runs buy one get second half price promotions on its Vitamin E products almost all the time. 🙂
It sounds great except for the coconut scent! I can’t handle that!

Let’s bombard them with emails and let’s pester them on social media. I think they need to hear that North America is ready for a new drugstore chain!

I love coconuts so I’d welcome that scent! Does it actually contain coconut oil though? I read that coconut oil can clog the skin so I tend to avoid it in skincare. It’s fantastic for hair care though. And how is this so inexpensive?!!

Lots of skin care stuff is inexpensive, I think. I often wonder ‘why is this so expensive?’ when I see the same product (well, more or less the same) from a high end brand…
I used to work in fashion (head office, high end brand) less than 10 years ago. And I can tell you that a £400 coat made from premium wool costs about £12 to design, make, distribute and market. So yeah, why is some stuff so expensive? By the way, I still own two ‘expensive’ ladies’ winter coats from that brand. I got one for free after passing probation, and I bought the other for £10 at the sample sale. No, the item wasn’t faulty or grubby or anything, it was just THE coat that the model wore when they did the ‘catalogue’ photos. 😉

Have they recently changed the formula of this. I buy this for my skin regime and have done for about 3 years now and I swear its changed now. Just purchased a new tub today as i ran out last night. Use it like you. Pop on at night after iv used naturally radiant (also superdrug) hot cloth cleanser with their glycolic acid & Its not jelly like and no foil cover within the tub to keep it fresh. So annoying. Why change something when it didn’t need fixed 😦 so sad. X
