Nail Of The Day – Rimmel I ♥ Lasting Finish 080 Black Cab + Foils

upload-1Hi there! I’ve got another mani post for you today. I’ve done quite a few manis which I never got around to show you, so I’ve decided that I’m doing another nail week this week.

For this mani I painted my nails with Rimmel I ♥ Lasting Finish 080 Black Cab (2 coats).

This polish is one of those that I only use as a background colour for foil manis because the formula is just awful. 😦

Why? Well, the polish is thin, it’s poorly pigmented, it takes ages to dry and (despite the name) this polish just doesn’t last long.

I’m talking about visible tip wear in under half a day and chipping within 24 hours…

Rimmel’s I ♥ Lasting Finish collection is definitely my least favourite Rimmel collection.

But back to this mani! I intended to do a messy foil gradient (green, yellow, orange, red). But the first attempt (which you’ll never see any photographic evidence of) went wrong, so I redid the mani – in a much simpler way. So whilst I didn’t manage to do a foil gradient this time, I was still happy with how this mani turned out.

What do you think? Feel free to let me know. And thanks for reading!

  1. What does a foil gradient entail? Do you use metallic nail polish, or is it bits foil that you stick on? This looks really pretty – reminds me of those fiery gemstones that if you stare too long into, you start wondering about the universe and the meaning of life… XD

    • I use foils. But not those talon-shapes foils on Kodak paper. No!
I use the kind of foil that you can oder by the metre. 🙂
I’ll do a tutorial! Foil manis are so easy to do. As long as you don’t follow those idiotic 20-step-tutorials. I’ll do a tutorial, I promise!

By the way, do you think the universe is endless? Or do you think it ends somewhere? If the latter, what do you think does the end of the universe look like – and what’s behind it? I had many sleepless nights wondering about all of this. I NEED to know!

      • Ah ok I was thinking the foil was like gold-leaf for some reason. A roll of foil makes sense! I look forward to your tutorial on this method. 🙂

Hmm, I believe the universe ends but it’s circular ie. you won’t hit a wall per se but will eventually end up where you started like one of those mobius loops.
