October Beauty Awards

Hi there! Today’s post is about my favourite products in October. As always, I’ve chosen my top 3 from the products I’ve reviewed this month. And there are a few honourable mentions as well. 🙂

3rd place – Astor Soft Sensation Lipstick 114

I love this lipstick and I’ll be wearing it a lot this autumn and winter.

Runner-Up – Claire’s Popcorn Popcorn Flavoured Lip Balm

Claire’s Popcorn Popcorn Flavoured Lip Balm was a lovely surprise. It’s the best lip balm since My Little Pony’s melon-flavoured lip balm.

WINNER – Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Tonic

How obvious was it that this toner would be my favourite product this month?! Superdrug’s glycolic tonic has blown me away. It really is a game-changer!

Over the summer I’ve developed dark patches on my face again (it’s actually a skin condition that’s called melasma, as I found out a few months ago). Getting rid of those patches is not easy at all, but this toner got it done. I’ve already bought 4 back-up bottles. I will continue to use this toner for as long as it’s made. This is truly an 11 stars product!

Onto the honourable mentions!

I’m still enjoying my Daily Defense Pomegranate shampoo and conditioner. This is the 4th Daily Defense hair care combo I’ve tried, and they’ve all been pretty awesome. If your local bargain store stocks Daily Defense hair products, you really should pick them up!

Another product line I enjoyed is the Wonder Woman toiletries collection which I picked up at Poundland. The shampoo is clarifying, the shower gel is gentle on the skin, and the fragrance roll-on is brilliant too. The products share the same lovely fragrance – rose and powder.

Have you tried any of these products? Would you like to try them? Which products have you been loving lately? Feel free to get in touch, and thanks for stopping by!

Superdrug Treat Me Salted Caramel Shower & Bath Soak

Hi there! Today’s post is about Superdrug Treat Me Salted Caramel Shower & Bath Soak.

I’ve been using this shower gel for a few days now, and I’m happy to say that I like it.

Whilst NSPA’s Caramel Fudge shower gel has set the standards for yummy caramel-scented toiletries, Superdrug’s version smells really nice too. It smells just like salted caramel!

I also like how the shower gel feels on my skin. I’m satisfied that it cleanses my skin properly, but it doesn’t feel drying at all.

Superdrug Treat Me Salted Caramel Shower & Bath Soak is available as 500ml for £2.99. I paid £1.49 (half price offer). This products is suitable for vegans, and it’s certified cruelty-free (it carries the Leaping Bunny logo)!

Nail Of The Day – Astor Fashion Studio 237 Orange Cosmos, Sally Hansen HD Hi-Definition Nail Colour 07 Three D

Hi there! Today’s post is about another mani I’m filing under Halloween Nail Ideas.

For this mani I painted my nails with Astor Fashion Studio 237 Orange Cosmos (2 coats). This is a nice pale orange shade which would have been perfect for stamping.

However, I decided to do decals! And I wanted a much cooler base colour. So I painted 1 coat of Sally Hansen HD Hi-Definition Nail Colour 07 Three D over the pale orange.

Once the polish was dry, I applied a few halloweeney decals. Then 1 coat of clear polish… job done! 🙂

Baylis & Harding Mango & Mandarin Fragrance Mist

Hi there! Today’s post is about Baylis & Harding‘s Mango & Mandarin Fragrance Mist which I picked up a few weeks ago.

This fragrance mist promises to refresh and hydrate the skin – and that’s exactly what it does!

I don’t know how it works, but this spray feels very fresh, almost cold, when it hits the skin. The cooling effect lasts for a few seconds, and it’s really nice.

I’m happy that the spray feels hydrating. I like to spray it down my back after the shower. It makes my skin feel soft and silky. Brilliant!

I think the fragrance itself is very pleasant because it’s refreshing, fruity and tangy. I’ve been enjoying it a lot over the past couple of weeks. Great stuff!

Baylis & Harding‘s Mango & Mandarin Fragrance Mist is available as 100ml. I paid £1 (Poundland). I’ve also seen matching body products (shower gel, shower scrub, body butter).

Nail Of The Day – Barry M Waikiki & Stamping With MoYou London 53

Hi there! I have a Nail Of The Day post for you today. And it’s another mani I will file under Halloween Nail Ideas.

For this mani I painted my nails with Barry M Waikiki (2 coats). This is a matte polish. I don’t like matte nails at all, so I applied 1 coat of clear polish to give the mani a glossy finish.

I used MoYou London‘s Festive 53 stamping plate and Revlon Colorstay 270 Stiletto to stamp ghosts, bats, spiderwebs, a broom, bones, a mummy, and a skeleton onto my nails.

I really liked this mani. The base colour and the images are absolutely perfect for Halloween.

Astor Soft Sensation Lipstick 114

Hi there! Today’s short post is about Astor‘s Soft Sensation Lipstick. The shade I’m wearing is 114. I think this is a lovely shade for this time of year. It’s a soft berry to plum shade that suits a lot of skin tones. I love this shade because it looks good with my pale skin. Many darker berry or plum shades give me an unwanted gothic look, so this kind of shade is just right for me. 🙂

I’m also in love with the formula. This is a super creamy lipstick that feels lovely on my lips. Whilst this lipstick doesn’t survive a meal, it lasts well if I don’t drink or snack every couple of minutes. And it lasts pretty much all day if I seal it with a lipliner (yes, a plain and simple lip liner). All in all, I’m very happy that I picked up this pretty lipstick for £1 at one of the bargain stores!

Primark Charcoal Purifying Peel Off Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Charcoal Purifying Peel Off Face Mask which I picked up at my local Primark.

This mask promises to lift off dirt and impurities. It works like any other peel off mask. Apply the liquid to your face, let it dry for about 15-20 minutes, then peel it off.

How’s the mask? I enjoyed using this mask. It was definitely one of the more effective peel off masks that I’ve tried. It made my face look and feel squeaky clean.

This Charcoal Purifying Peel Off Face Mask is available as 10ml for 80p at Primark. I’ll pick up a few more masks for sure!

Nail Of The Day – Primark PS… Marshmallow & Stamping With Pueen 114

Hi there! Today’s post is about a mani I did recently. And it’s another Halloween-inspired mani. 🙂

For this mani I painted my nails with Primark PS… Marshmallow (2 coats). I like this polish. It’s opaque in 2 easy coats, and it was 90p. Thanks, Primark!

I used Pueen‘s 114 plate (which is part of Pueen‘s Make Your Day stamping plate collection) and Manhattan Quick Dry 46K for the images. I did another mani with this stamping recently, and my blogging buddy Helen from Brokedown Vanity thought the image would be perfect for Halloween. I don’t think she had this kind of mani  in mind, but when she mentioned Halloween, I thought “OMG, yes”. 🙂

I do like this mani because it reminds me very much of Dexter. I did smudge a few bits, but all in all, I think this is another mani I’m happy to file under Halloween Nail Ideas.
