May Beauty Awards

Hi there! It’s the last day of the month. This means that, today, I’m going to tell you which products I loved the most in May. I picked my top 3 from all the products I reviewed this month. And there are a few honourable mentions as well. Let’s start with the top 3!

3rd place – Beauty Formulas Detoxifying Bubble Sheet Mask

This is the most effective bubble sheet mask I’ve ever tried. Priced at £1, this is also one of the cheapest bubble sheet masks out there!

Runner-Up – Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Day Cream & Night Cream

Boots did an amazing job with these 2 No 7 products. I enjoyed using the day cream as well as the night cream. And I’m looking forward to using the full sizes!

WINNER – Maxbrands Luxurious Gold Mask / Peel-Off Face Mask

This face mask has set new standards. This is the most effective peel-off mask I’ve ever used. If you’re using nose strips and you think they’re not good enough, you should give this mask a try!

Onto the honourable mentions! Treacle Moon’s Marshmallow Hearts Shower & Bath Gel is simply amazing. My skin loves Fascy’s Bubble Tina Aqua Mask and The Crème Shop’s Last Christmas “Naughty” Energy Boost Face Mask.

Primark’s PS… Purifying Rinse Off Mask With Red Clay was a nice surprise, and Palmolive‘s Welcome To Madagascar Forest and Welcome To Japanese Garden shower gels are lovely!

Would you like to try any of these products? Or have you tried any of them? Which products did you love the most this month? Feel free to comment. And thanks for reading! 🙂

Lisseau Vanilla Body Butter

Hi there! Today I’m reviewing a body butter which I’ve been using on and off for a few weeks now – Lisseau Vanilla Body Butter. I wanted to use this body butter last winter already, but I had so many other moisturisers to use up first…

I’ve now given this body butter a try, and I like it! I thought the Lisseau body butters would be identical to the Derma V10 or Beautifully Scrumptious body butters. However, this one is lighter and fluffier which means that it’s easier to massage into skin. In addition, this body butter doesn’t feel greasy or sticky which is a big plus – especially this time of year! The vanilla fragrance isn’t spectacular, but it’s nice and pleasant.

I like this body butter, and I’ll continue to use it. If you’re interested, Lisseau Vanilla Body Butter is available as 220g. I paid 80p (Poundstretcher).

Palmolive Welcome To Madagascar Forest, Palmolive Welcome to Japanese Garden

Hi there! Today’s post is about these new Palmolive shower gels that I picked up at my local Superdrug store – Palmolive Welcome To Madagascar Forest and Palmolive Welcome To Japanese Garden. These shower gels are limited editions. And to find out whether I should stock up, I gave them a try right away. 🙂

Palmolive Welcome To Madagascar Forest is a super lovely shower gel. It smells warm and tropical with a touch of cocoa (maybe sandalwood as well). It’s not a pineapple shower gel at all – I doubt there’s even a hint of pineapple fragrance in it. However, I’m not unhappy because this shower gel is gorgeous!

Palmolive Welcome To Japanese Garden is a pure cherry blossom shower gel. I’m used to cherry blossom and vanilla fragrances, and because of this I think this shower gel is missing something. However, if you love the smell of pure cherry blossoms (I mean, who doesn’t?), you should give this shower gel a try. It’s very nice, I promise!

I think Palmolive did a great job with these shower gels. The fragrances are beautiful, and the creamy formula is great for dry skin. Palmolive Welcome To Madagascar Forest and Palmolive Welcome To Japanese Garden are available as 250ml each. I paid £1 each (special offer).

Skin Treats Blueberry Detox Sheet Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Skin Treats Blueberry Detox Sheet Mask. This sheet mask contains 10+ botanical and fruit extracts, and it promises to cleanse and purify the skin.

This mask works like the majority of sheet masks – cleanse your face, apply the sheet mask to your face, leave it on for about 15 minutes (I leave sheet masks on until they’re dry), massage the leftover essence into the skin – and you’re good to go!

I’ve given this mask a try, but I don’t think I’ll buy it again. The mask itself is one of those terrible low quality masks which will have lost their shape by the time you’ve unwrapped them. By the time I had placed it on my face, the mask looked like it had been in a fight.

I found the essence to be refreshing, and I’m happy to report that it didn’t feel sticky at all. However, the mask didn’t make any difference to my skin. Based on my experience, I’m not convinced of its cleansing or purifying powers…

If you’d like to give Skin Treats Blueberry Detox Sheet Mask a try, it’s 99p at Savers and B&M Bargains.

Nail Of The Day – Barry M Molten Metal Holographic Moon & Stamping With Pueen 107 / 31 Day Nail Art Challenge #15 Delicate Print

Hi there! I have another Nail Of The Day post for you today. This mani is for the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge which I’m doing on my own terms (not in 31 days, not in chronological order).

This mani is for challenge #15 DELICATE PRINT.

For this mani I painted my nails with Barry M Molten Metal Holographic Moon (3 coats, although 2 would have been perfectly fine too).

For the images I used the beautiful Pueen 107 plate (which is part of Pueen‘s Make Your Day stamping plate collection).

The black polish I stamped with is Revlon Colorstay 270 Stiletto which is an all-time favourite of mine.

Anovia Healthy Shine Bamboo & Lotus Shampoo & Conditioner

Hi there! Today’s post is about Anovia‘s Healthy Shine Bamboo & Lotus Shampoo & Conditioner. I found these at Home Bargains, which is one of my favourite stores – not just because it’s close to where I live, but also because of the many beauty bargains which are just waiting to be picked up! Now let’s focus on the hair care products…

Anovia‘s Healthy Shine Bamboo & Lotus Shampoo is a nice enough shampoo. It cleanses my hair, and I have no complaints really. However, I wish it would produce more of a lather. But that’s just me. The next person might disagree. I’m also not the biggest fan of lotus (or waterlily) scents, but this one is nicely done. So yeah, no complaints really!

Anovia‘s Healthy Shine Bamboo & Lotus Conditioner is not my favourite conditioner. It certainly does the job, but it’s rather thin, and I need to use quite a bit of product. But if you have straight and / or thin hair, this conditioner will be fine.

I’m happy to continue to use these products, but I don’t think I’ll repurchase them. Having said this, if you’re a fan of lotus-scented products, you should give these a sniff and maybe a try. Anovia‘s Healthy Shine Bamboo & Lotus Shampoo & Conditioner are available as 500ml each for 99p each (Home Bargains).

T-Zone Glitter Mask Peel Off Black

Hi there! I’ve reviewed quite a few face masks last week, and I have another face mask review for you today – that’s because I’ve been trying an insane number of new face masks lately.

This face mask is called T-Zone Glitter Mask Peel Off Black. I don’t know why they put the words in that order. Wouldn’t “Black Glitter Peel Off Mask” have made more sense?!

Well, I’ve now given this mask a try, and I think it’s very effective at lifting off dead skin cells and pulling gunk out of the pores.

However, the glitter is very annoying! Whilst it’s great that the glitter is fully bio-degradeable, it’s messy and it serves no purpose at all. I don’t know what they were thinking…

T-Zone Glitter Mask Peel Off Black is available as 10ml (single use sachet). The price depends on where you shop. I’m not 100% sure but I believe I paid 79p for this mask (Home Bargains).

Nail Of The Day – Rimmel Lycra Pro 306 Velvet Rose, Fashionista Nail Lacquer Shade 4 Dreamy

Hi there! Today’s post is about a mani I did not too long ago.

For this mani I painted my nails with Rimmel Lycra Pro 306 Velvet Rose (2 coats, thumbs, index and middle fingers) and Fashionista Nail Lacquer Shade 4 Dreamy (2 coats, pinkies and ring fingers).

The cute glitter top coat I used is Barry M Amethyst Glitter. This is one of the most beautiful rainbow glitters ever. 😍

For the images on the ring fingers and pinkies I used Maniology‘s BM-XL218 stamping plate and the one and only Revlon Colorstay 270 Stiletto.

NSPA Bergamot & Orange Blossom Shower Cream And Body Oil

Hi there! Today’s post is about 2 NSPA products I picked up from my local Asda’s clearance shelf – NSPA Uplifting & Revitalising Bergamot & Orange Blossom Shower Cream and Body Oil. I picked these up for half price – that’s £1.50 each instead of the usual £3. The NSPA collection is receiving a makeover, and it appears a number of products will go – including these 2. Onto the actual review!

NSPA Uplifting & Revitalising Bergamot & Orange Blossom Shower Cream has a very old-fashioned fragrance. I don’t hate it, but I don’t care for it. I don’t think this product qualifies as a shower cream. It feels nice whilst it’s being lathered up, but as soon as I get out of the shower, my skin feels dry and in need of a moisturiser.

NSPA Uplifting & Revitalising Bergamot & Orange Blossom Body Oil is much nicer. This is a light oil that feels non-greasy. I like it a lot! The fragrance is also much better – it’s fresher and lighter. I’m enjoying it very much.

In summary, I wouldn’t recommend the shower cream, but I would recommend the oil! Have you tried these products or would you like to try them? Feel free to comment, and thanks for reading! 🙂
