April Beauty Awards

Hi there! Happy Friday! It’s the last day of the month, so it’s time for my Monthly Favourites post. Let’s start with the TOP 3 – but there’ll be a few honourable mentions as well. 🙂

3rd place – Primark PS… Vitamin C Revitalizing Bubble Sheet Mask

Primark did an amazing job with this bubble sheet mask. It’s one of the best bubble sheet masks I’ve ever tried.

Runner-Up – Antonio Banderas Her Golden Secret Eau De Toilette

Her Golden Secret was a major surprise. The quality of the fragrance is unbelievable! I’m blown away!

WINNER – Herbal Essences Silk N’ Shine Shampoo & Conditioner

The undisputed winners are Herbal Essences Silk N’ Shine shampoo & conditioner. These are my all-time favourite hair care products, and I rate them above my favourite skin care, my favourite foundation, etc.

Onto the honourable mention! I’m enjoying my Manhattan Colour Loop Lipgloss 45B Red Passion very much. Mitomo Vitamin Facial Essence Mask is great. The cheap Home Bargains Avocado Moisturising Face Mask and Masked Beauty Apple & Green Tea Sheet Mask are very good too! And last but not least, Anna Sui L’Amour Rose Versailles Eau De Parfum is a very beautiful fragrance that I enjoy wearing.

Have you tried any of these products or would you like to try any of them? Feel free to get in touch via the comments. And thanks for stopping by!

Nivea Indulgent Moisture Cashmere Shower Cream With Cashmere Extract And Orchid Scent, Nivea Love Adventure Caring Shower Gel With Aloe Vera

Hi there! Today’s post is about 2 Nivea shower gels which I picked up before the November lockdown – Nivea Indulgent Moisture Cashmere Shower Cream With Cashmere Extract And Orchid Scent and Nivea Love Adventure Caring Shower Gel With Aloe Vera.

Nivea Indulgent Moisture Cashmere Shower Cream With Cashmere Extract And Orchid Scent has a nice non-drying formula. But I don’t care for the fragrance. It doesn’t smell very natural. I’d describe the fragrance as a mix of flowers and plastic. I think this one might end up as a hand soap…

Nivea Love Adventure Caring Shower Gel With Aloe Vera is refreshing, no doubt. I do like the fragrance, although I think it’s rather masculine. My husband is enjoying this shower gel too. I think he’ll probably use it more often than I will.

If you’re interested, Nivea Indulgent Moisture Cashmere Shower Cream With Cashmere Extract And Orchid Scent and Nivea Love Adventure Caring Shower Gel With Aloe Vera are available as 250ml each. I paid ÂŁ1 each.

Anna Sui L’Amour Rose Versailles Eau De Parfum

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Anna Sui L’Amour Rose Versailles Eau De Parfum which I’ve been using on and off for almost a month now.

The top notes are apricot, sweet orange and quince. The heart notes are rose, jasmine and freesia. And the base notes are amber, macarons and patchouli.

When I looked up the notes, I was actually surprised to find this many fruity notes. To me, L’Amour Rose Versailles smells like a mix of sweet yellow roses and powder. I think this fragrance is a safe blind-buy. It’s not the most original fragrance, but it’s lovely and pretty in its own way. I also find it very enjoyable in this weather.

Anna Sui L’Amour Rose Versailles Eau De Parfum is available as 50ml. I paid a ridiculous ÂŁ13.61!

Mad Beauty Disney Aurora True Love’s Kiss Face Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Mad Beauty Disney Aurora True Love’s Kiss Face Mask. This face mask contains niacinamide, pro-vitamin B5, lavender, cucumber and peach extracts, etc. It promises to have a relaxing and calming effect on the skin.

How does it work? Cleanse your face, put on the mask, leave it on for 10 minutes, then wash it off. I prefer leave-on sheet masks, but hey ho…

I’ve been through 6 of the 8 Mad Beauty Disney face masks that I bought, and this is my favourite so far. The mask smells pleasantly of lavender (some of the other masks had a strong chemical smell), and it feels refreshing and certainly relaxing. If it was a leave-on mask, I’d even buy it again!

If you’re interested, Mad Beauty Disney Aurora True Love’s Kiss Face Mask is available as a 25ml single-use face mask for ÂŁ3 (Superdrug). I paid ÂŁ1.50 (sale).

Nail Of The Day – CiatĂ© Cabaret & Foils

Hi there! Today’s post is a Nail Of The Day post.

For this mani, which I did about 2 weeks ago, I painted my nails with Ciate Cabaret (2 coats).

I’m not the biggest CiatĂ© fan, but this colour is really lovely. This particular bottle is finished now – well, there’s about 1ml of goopy polish left, but I can’t do anything with it. 🤷‍♀️

For the colourful accents I used some of my leftover rainbow foil.

I really liked this mani. I even filled in the tips and applied top coat daily to make the mani last longer!

100% Vegan & Cruelty-Free – Superdrug Layering Lab Fresh Body Mist, Superdrug Layering Lab Sorbet Body Mist

Hi there! Today’s post is about 2 body mists – Superdrug Layering Lab Fresh Body Mist and Superdrug Layering Lab Sorbet Body Mist. I picked these up after the Blossom body mist from the same collection blew me away. And I’ve now given them a try…

Superdrug Layering Lab Fresh Body Mist is supposed to smell of citrus, apple and peony. I’d describe the scent as a cheap apple hairspray scent. Maybe something a young teen would enjoy. But this stuff is not worth my time. I’ll give it away.

Superdrug Layering Lab Sorbet Body Mist is supposed to smell of peach sorbet, plum and raspberries. According to some of the reviewers at Superdrug, this body mist smells like Viktor & Rolf Bon Bon; someone else likened it to a Britney Spears fragrance. I don’t know either of those fragrance, but I’d be shocked if anything above ÂŁ5 were to smell like this body mist. What does it smell like? Pretty much like a mix of burnt sugar mixed with burnt berries. It’s not pleasant at all. I can definitely see that some young teens might like this, maybe to cover up BO after PE/gym or exercising? But this stuff is more of a smell than a scent. I will give this stuff away too.

If you’re interested, Superdrug Layering Lab Fresh Body Mist and Superdrug Layering Lab Sorbet Body Mist are available as 100ml for ÂŁ3.99 each. On top of this, Superdrug often runs promotions on these Layering Lab products. I bought them when they were on special. To end this post on a positive note, these products are vegan and certified cruelty-free (they carry the Leaping Bunny logo).

Revisiting Holy Grail Products – Herbal Essences Silk N’ Shine Shampoo & Conditioner

Hi there! Today’s post is about 2 holy grail hair products – Herbal Essences Silk N’ Shine Shampoo & Conditioner. These products are aimed at all hair types, and they promise shiny hair that’s soft and silky.

The shampoo is my all-time number 1 – it is very clarifying (even my husband loves to use this shampoo after a sweaty 90-minute workout), but at the same time it’s not drying at all. It actually feels hydrating – but it’s hydration only, no grease! This is THE perfect shampoo. 11 stars!

The conditioner is also my all-time number 1 – it detangles my hair like it’s nothing. I’ve got long and curly hair that I NEVER brush or comb. I only go through my hair with my fingers once a day – and that’s when I wash and condition my hair = every morning in the shower. This conditioner makes my hair feel soft, silky and bouncy. It’s not weighing my hair down. This conditioner is perfect in every way!

What else? These hair products smell incredible. I can’t describe the scent. It’s sweet, floral, fresh, transparent… it smells like paradise!

Unfortunately, Herbal Essences Silk N’ Shine Shampoo & Conditioner have been discontinued. But they can still be found online or in bargain stores that specialise in end-of-line products. I saw Herbal Essences products (400ml bottles for ÂŁ2 each) at Poundstretcher not long ago – but I didn’t buy any. I have plenty of back-up (dozens of bottles) which will last me for years. And I also had to promise my husband not to buy any more of these… But if you see these products (pink or yellow – doesn’t matter), go and grab a few bottles!

Skin Treats Ginger Radiating Sheet Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Skin Treats Ginger Radiating Sheet Mask which promises to be a “vibrant facial experience” that rejuvenates and revitalises the skin and improves the skin’s elasticity.

This is a normal sheet mask. Use it after you’ve cleansed your face. Leave the mask on for about 15 minutes, then take it off and massage the leftover essence from the sachet into your skin.

I’ve given this mask a try, and I think it’s nice and refreshing. For the first 15 or so seconds, there was a tingling sensation on my skin. Scary! Fortunately, the tingling went away quickly. Phew! I would agree that the mask made my skin feel revitalised, so based on this alone, I’d use the mask again. I also liked that the mask didn’t leave a sticky film on my skin. The fresh ginger scent was very subtle and pleasant. Good stuff!

Based on my experience, I’d recommend this face mask. But always make sure to check the ingredients, and if in doubt, please do a patch test! If you’re interested, Skin Treats Ginger Radiating Sheet Mask is available as a 20ml single use sheet mask for ÂŁ1 (B&M Bargains).

Nail Of The Day – Rimmel 60 Seconds 503 Mind The Gap Victoria & Stamping With Nicole Diary 078

Hi there! Today’s post is a Nail Of The Day post.

For this mani I painted my nails with Rimmel 60 Seconds 503 Mind The Gap Victoria (2 coats). This is one of the best light blue polishes I’ve ever seen. It’s stunning! I’m more than halfway through this bottle, and the polish is getting thicker, but I think I have another bottle – well, at least I hope so!

For the images I used my Nicole Diary-078 stamping plate. The black polish I stamped with is Revlon Colorstay 270 Stiletto.

The mani didn’t look as nice as I hoped. The kitties are cute, but not all images came out great. Ah well…
