Boots Live + Be Woodland Whisper Whipped Body Cream

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Boots Live + Be Woodland Whisper Whipped Body Cream. Live + Be is a vegan & cruelty-free collection which, unfortunately, has been discontinued.

Woodland Whisper is, in my opinion, the stand-out fragrance of the entire collection. I already love the shower gel and the body mist, so trying the matching body cream was a no-brainer.

Let’s start with the fragrance – Woodland Whisper has the following notes – fennel, coriander, cardamom and charcoal. I don’t think it smells like any of these notes (or the sum of these notes), but I would describe the fragrance as warm, sweet and woody. It’s beautiful!

The formula of this whipped body cream is just as lovely as its scent. The cream is rich, but it’s easy to spread and it sinks right into the skin. It moisturises my skin well, it feels velvety on the skin, but it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy at all. It’s perfect!

Based on my experience, I’d recommend this product! Boots Live + Be Woodland Whisper Whipped Body Cream is available as 300ml for £1.75. What a bargain!

Boots No7 Skin Illuminator

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Boots No7 Skin Illuminator.

This product promises “natural looking radiance for a beautiful glow” – this sounds great!

This product can be used in 3 ways – as a primer before you apply your make-up, mixed with your foundation, or as a highlighter on your cheeks and brow bones.

I’ve been using this product on and off for a few months now. It doesn’t work as a primer prior to applying my make-up (it makes my foundation ball up). And I don’t think that it makes my skin look glowing or radiant.

However, it works wonders when I mix it with my foundation and apply both products in one go. I have very dry skin as well as eczema and psoriasis, and moisturisers, face mists and facial oils will always just be temporary fixes.

Because of this, I’m happy to say that this product makes my foundation look dewy all day long. My foundation does lose a bit of coverage, but it’s not too bad.

This product might or might not work for you, and this will depend on your skin type and which other products you use on your face. Some products are simply not compatible, or they might only be compatible if used in a specific way.

I’m hesitant to recommend this product for the above reasons, and whilst it only works for me when used in one specific way, I’m enjoying it a lot, and I can see myself buying it again.

Boots No7 Skin Illuminator is available as 30ml for £12.50. Mine is from a half price No7 gift set I bought for myself.

Nivea Refreshing Face Wash

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Nivea Refreshing Face Wash.

I know this face wash has been around forever, but I’ve never used it before.

About 2 months ago, I went to my local Boots as I really needed a new face wash. My local Boots only had a small selection of facial cleansers, and this Nivea face wash was on special = easy choice.

Alrighty, this face wash contains vitamin E and Nivea’s patented Hydra IQ, and it aims to cleanse and to rehydrate the skin by supporting the skin’s moisture balance and by reducing water loss.

I’ve used this face wash for about 6 weeks now, and I think it’s OK. The face wash is refreshing, but I find it drying, and it’s not as cleansing as I had hoped.

I also don’t love the rather strong scent. Whilst I generally love scented products, and whilst I would always choose a scented product over an unscented one, this face wash smells much stronger than my shower gels or hair products. It shouldn’t be like this!

I will use up this face wash (and use more facial oil in my skin care to combat the dryness this face wash is causing). But I won’t repurchase it. If you’re interested, Nivea Refreshing Face Wash is available as 150ml for about £4. I paid £2.10.

Weil Belle En Weil Eau De Parfum

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Weil Belle En Weil Eau De Parfum. This fragrance was a blind buy. I bought it because I found the reviews for it rather promising. Let’s look at the notes now – rose and bergamot (top notes), praline and red fruits (heart notes), and patchouli, vanilla, cedar and musk (base notes).

This fragrance is a brilliant dupe for Thierry Mugler’s Angel fragrance! Wow! I find Belle En Weil a bit cleaner than Angel (slightly muskier, a tad less earthy), but you wouldn’t know it’s not Angel if you were to cross paths with someone wearing Belle En Weil.

A single spray is all that most people would need for the entire day as Belle En Weil is very strong and last for ages (especially on clothes). I usually apply fragrances rather liberally, and I also touch up several times during the day, but with Belle En Weil, I’m good for the day with one spray on the chest and one spray down my back.

Based on my experience, I’d recommend this fragrance, especially if you’re looking for a more purse-friendly version of Mugler’s Angel. If you’re interested, Weil Belle En Weil Eau De Parfum is available as 100ml. I paid £14.95.

Boots Live + Be Woodland Whisper Shower Cream, Boots Live + Be Captivating Pause Bath Soak

Hi there! Today’s post is about 2 products I started to use earlier this month – Boots Live + Be Woodland Whisper Shower Cream and Boots Live + Be Captivating Pause Bath Soak. These are part of Boots’ vegan Live + Be collection.

Let’s start with Boots Live + Be Woodland Whisper Shower Cream which is a dream come true! The shower cream feels amazing on the skin! Wow! And the fragrance is just dreamy. It’s woody, warm, green, slightly sweet, but still transparent. Wow! I’m so glad I bought this product. It’s one of my favourite products so far this year!

Onto Boots Live + Be Captivating Pause Bath Soak! This product is rich and creamy, and I was impressed to find that it’s not drying at all. Lots of so-called creamy bath products feel nourishing, but 10 minutes after the bath the skin is dry. This bath product is NOT one of those products. It makes my skin feel really good. However, the scent isn’t my favourite. I had a body mist with the same fragrance before, and it got old quickly. I do think this one would make a nice hand wash though.

Boots Live + Be Woodland Whisper Shower Cream and Boots Live + Be Captivating Pause Bath Soak are available as 400ml each for £1.25 each. A total steal!

Skin Treats Watermelon Vitalising Sheet Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Skin Treats Watermelon Vitalising Sheet Mask. This face mask promises to revive, refresh, tone and moisturise the skin for a supple, smooth and revitalised feel.

This is a regular sheet mask. Cleanse your face before you use this mask. Once you’ve put the mask on, leave it on for 15-20 minutes, then remove it and massage the essence into the skin.

I’ve given this mask a try, and I think it’s quite good. It felt both refreshing and hydrating, and I would agree that it made my skin look revitalised. Based on my experience, I would recommend this face mask.

If you’re interested, Skin Treats Watermelon Vitalising Sheet Mask is available as a 20ml single-use sheet mask for £1 (Savers, B&M Bargains).

Face Facts Avocado Nourishing Sheet Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Face Facts Avocado Nourishing Sheet Mask. This is a regular sheet mask – use it after you’ve cleansed your face, leave it on for about 20 minutes, then massage the essence into your skin and follow with your regular skin care.

I’ve given this mask a try, and I think that it’s OK. I found it hydrating, so based on that, I would recommend it. However, the essence has a weird chemical scent, so based on that, I would not recommend the mask.

Personally, I won’t buy the mask again as I found its smell a bit off-putting, but if you’re interested, Face Facts Avocado Nourishing Sheet Mask is available as a 20ml single-use face mask for £1.

100% Cruelty-Free – Primark PS… Brightening Probiotic Multi-Mineral Sheet Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Primark PS… Brightening Probiotic Multi-Mineral Sheet Mask with minerals, pro-vitamin B5, shea butter, argan oil and sodium hyaluronate. Sounds good! Also, this mask is certified cruelty-free – it carries the Leaping Bunny logo!

Alrighty, how does the mask work? Cleanse your face, then put the mask on. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes, then massage the essence into the skin.

When I opened the sachet, I was disappointed to find that the essence was creamy. Creamy essences aren’t bad, but I prefer water-type essences in face masks. I also noticed a strong scent which reminded me of old-fashioned green fragrances from the 90s – that strange scent that smells like a mix of overly fresh air and freshly cut grass. Great if you like it, but I didn’t care for the scent at all.

What else? I didn’t find the mask to be brightening. It felt nourishing – thanks to its formula, but that was about it. The scent annoyed me quite a bit, so I took the mask off after about 10 minutes and I binned the sachet. I didn’t bother massaging the essence into my skin.

If you’re interested, Primark PS… Brightening Probiotic Multi-Mineral Sheet Mask is available as a 23g single-use face mask for 80p (Primark).
