Boots Botanics Super Serum Triple Age Renewal

Hi there! Today I’m reviewing the day serum that I’ve been using for quite some time now. It’s called Boots Botanics Super Serum Triple Age Renewal. This serum claims to stimulate cell renewal, to visibly reduce the appearance of deep lines and wrinkles, and to improve skin firmness in 4 weeks. It contains hyaluronic acid, vitamins A, C and E, soy protein, moisturising sugars and plant antioxidants from purple orchids. Oh, and the serum is made in the UK!

So how’s the serum? I think it’s quite good! It’s quick and easy to apply, it’s absorbed almost instantly, and it feels moisturising. It also plays well with all sorts of different moisturisers. I don’t think that my skin feels firmer, and I can’t comment on whether this serum helps with deep lines and wrinkles because, fortunately, I don’t have any deep lines or wrinkles (yet). However, I do have a few fine lines on my forehead, and they seem to be less visible than a few weeks ago. Awesome!

In summary, I like this serum and I would recommend it! Boots repackaged the entire Botanics collection, and the prices seem to have gone up quite a bit. I paid £4 for my 30ml pump bottle in the old packaging, whilst the current version of the serum is just under £10, I believe. But please correct me if I’m wrong!

Have you tried this product? If so, how do / did you like it? Feel free to comment. And thanks for reading!

100% Vegan & Cruelty-Free – Sukin Moisture Restoring Night Cream

Hi there! Today’s post is about Sukin’s Moisture Restoring Night Cream. I’ve been using this night cream since late May, so the review is actually overdue! Before we get to the review, let me tell you a little about the brand.

Sukin is an Australian company. They specialise in “skin care that doesn’t cost the earth”. Their products are carbon-neutral, vegan and cruelty-free. In addition, Sukin products don’t contain SLS, SLES, synthetic fragrances, animal derivatives, harsh detergents, propylene glycol, artificial colours, triethanolamine, mineral oils, EDTA or parabens. Now onto the review! 🙂

Sukin’s Moisture Restoring Night Cream is quite rich. It feels good on my skin and it moisturises very well. At the moment I don’t have any dry patches on my face which is something I don’t get to experience often – although equal credit goes to Superdrug’s hyaluronic acid face mist.

However, it isn’t the most suitable face cream for people with problem skin. I’ve noticed that this cream seems to clog up my pores a little. Because of this I’m using this cream in conjuction with a clarifying serum or with a glycolic overnight peel – with great results!

All in all, I think this night cream is really good, and I would recommend it. However, because of all the natural ingredients in this cream, I would recommend you do a patch test before you use the cream on your face. Sukin recommends patch testing before use as well. I think that’s reasonable!

So whilst I like this cream, I’m not 100% happy. This cream has a shelf life of only six months – that’s because it doesn’t contain any synthetic preservatives. However, the face cream jar is huge and 120ml is a lot of product! I’ve been using this cream rather liberally on my face and neck, and I’m using this face cream on my husband’s face as well. However, after 10 weeks of daily use, the cream is nowhere near half-empty. I think it would be best if Sukin reduced the size of the product – to make sure people manage to finish it before it goes off.

I found Sukin’s Moisture Restoring Night Cream at TK Maxx where I paid £8 for it. Boots sells a number of Sukin products as well!

Have you tried this face cream or any other Sukin product? Feel free to comment. And thanks for reading! 🙂

PS: A special thanks to Jodi who got me interested in Sukin products.

Anatomicals Look You’ve Got Chocolate All Over Your Face Anti-Stress Face Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about Anatomicals Look You’ve Got Chocolate All Over Your Face Anti-Stress Face Mask. This face mask is part of Anatomicals’ Now You’re Ready To Face The World face mask set. I’ve already reviewed one of the masks from this set. And you can read the review here.

Alrighty! Now onto the chocolate mask! This mask is a regular clay mask. You apply it, you let it dry for 15 to 20 minutes, and then you wash it off. And what does the mask do? It promises a relaxing skin cleansing experience. If you read on, I’ll let you know if the mask keeps its promise. 🙂

This face mask is fun to apply. The formula is similar to chocolate mousse. And the mask smells like chocolate. Applying this face mask is almost like rubbing chocolate mousse all over your face. Awesome fun! 🙂

The mask made no visible difference to my face. However, it made my skin feel cleansed and refreshed which was really nice. So in summary, this is a good mask. I hope the third mask from this set will be equally good or better! I hope I’ll be able to try and review it asap.

Anatomicals’ Now You’re Ready To Face The World trio mask set is available for £3 at Superdrug. I paid £2 only for the set (Save 1/3 offer). Have you tried any Anatomicals face masks? Or would you like to try them? Feel free to get in touch via the comments. And thanks for reading. 🙂

100% Cruelty-Free – Montagne Jeunesse Sea Splash Peel Off

Hi there! Today’s short post is about Montagne Jeunesse’s Sea Splash Peel Off face mask with Dead Sea salt and seaweed.

This mask promises “a deep cleansing for a revitalising boost”, and it is exclusive to Primark where I bought it for 90p. 🙂

How’s the mask? I think this mask is almost an exact duplicate of Montagne Jeunesse’s Black Seaweed mask. The only difference is the colour. The Black Seaweed mask is black, whilst the Sea Splash mask is almost transparent with a blueish tint.

To be more specific – this mask is OK. It didn’t make a visible difference to my skin, but I’m sure it did cleanse my pores. I don’t think the mask smells great – I’d describe the smell as swamp-like.

I wouldn’t buy this face mask again, but if you’d like to try it, head to Primark! Montagne Jeunesse’s Sea Splash Peel Off face mask is certified cruelty-free. It carries the Leaping Bunny logo, and it’s approved by the Vegetarian Society.

100% Cruelty-Free – Montagne Jeunesse Blueberry Blast Mud Masque

Hi there! I’ve got another face mask review for you today, and it’s about Montagne Jeunesse’s Blueberry Blast Mud Masque. This face mask is exclusive to Primark where you can buy it for 90p!

When I tried this mask, I realised that I’ve had this mask before. This mask is the reincarnation of Montagne Jeunesse’s Berrylicious Mud Masque. I’m certainly not complaining because the Berrylicious mask became an instant favourite. So I’m glad to see it was repackaged and not discontinued!

So what’s this mask like? This mask is a regular clay mask. You need to leave it on for about 15 minutes before you rinse it off with water. And once you’ve done that, you’re instantly being rewarded with clearer skin.

This mask really works – and it smells fantastic. I love this mask! My husband loves this mask! I’ve already gone back to Primark to stock up!

By the way, today’s post concludes Face Mask Week. I’m back tomorrow with a haul post. 🙂

Beauty Formulas Rejuvenating Glorious Mud Facial Mask

Beauty Formulas Mud MaskHi there! Today’s post is about this £1 Beauty Formulas Rejuvenating Glorious Mud Facial Mask that I found at Poundworld.

This face mask promises to remove dirt and excess oils from the skin’s surface and to absorb impurities. It also promises to unclog pores and to remove dead skin cells for a fresh skin glow.

Is this mask any good? Yes, absolutely! I think this is a reasonable face mask.

In the beginning the soapy fragrance threw me a little because I was expecting a chocolatey fragrance (yeah, my fault). However, the soapy fragrance is perfectly alright.

I’m also happy with what the mask does to my face because it makes my skin look and feel clearer.

My husband is equally pleased with this face mask. Whilst he thinks that the mask smells a little girly, he’s happy to use it once a week too. Awesome!

Have you tried this mask? If so, how do you like it? Feel free to get in touch via the comments. And thanks for reading! 🙂

Boots Ingredients Energising & Revitalising Sheet Face Mask With Rooibos

upload-2Hi there! It’s been a while since I tried a new sheet mask, so I gave Boots Ingredients Energising & Revitalising Sheet Face Mask with Rooibos a go.

This sheet mask promises to leave skin feeling revitalised and energised for a whole day – all in 15 minutes. Does it work?

I’ve previously mentioned that the shape of Boots’ Ingredients sheet masks in incredibly awkward, and this mask is no different. However, despite its funny shape, this mask is actually very nice!

OK, so I left the mask on for much longer than 15 minutes (it was something between 30 and 45 minutes). But I always do that. 🙂

And when I took the mask off, my skin looked… energised! I can’t really describe it because most of the time my skin is rather moody (which is my fault because I always stay up late…). So it was surprising to see my skin looking refreshed and full of energy. It was like my skin was saying “let’s go!”

Since there was plenty of serum left in the sachet, I’ve used said serum instead of my night cream for a few days. And I really love what this serum did for my skin!

To make a long story short – I think this mask is awesome, and I will buy it again. I would recommend it to everyone! Just make sure you use up the serum from the sachet, OK?

Boots Ingredients Energising & Revitalising Sheet Face Mask with Rooibos is available for £2.50 at Boots. I got my Ingredients face masks when Boots ran a 2 for £3 promotion.

Have you tried this face mask? If so, how did you like it? Or would you like to try this mask? Feel free to comment. And thanks for reading!
