Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 HR Breathable Foundation With SPF 20 / 200 Soft Beige

Hi there! Today’s post is about Rimmel‘s Lasting Finish 25 HR Breathable Foundation With SPF 20. The shade I’ve tried is 200 Soft Beige. I would have needed the lightest shade, but this one was alright for the purpose of testing the foundation on a stay-at-home day.

This foundation promises medium flawless coverage that lasts all day as well as UV protection. Applying the foundation is easy – Rimmel says it’s best applied with your fingers or with a make-up brush. I’ve now tried this foundation, and here’s what I think.

I can make a long story short – I think this foundation is awful! It’s not suitable for dry skin at all. The foundation dried too quickly, it creased badly, and it highlighted lines that I’ve never even seen before! I also found the coverage disappointing. I think the coverage is light to medium at best.

As if this weren’t enough… despite the relatively poor coverage, this foundation felt like a mask, and it looked extremely cakey. I tried to fix it with a damp sponge, but it didn’t work. And here’s the best bit! This foundation made my face look like the land of one million pores. Yikes! 😨

Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this foundation at all. I make room for the possibility that it might work for other skin types, but if you have dry skin, this foundation isn’t for you.

Rimmel‘s Lasting Finish 25 HR Breathable Foundation With SPF 20 is available as 30ml for £8.29.

100% Cruelty-Free – Montagne Jeunesse Choc Orange Sauna

Hi there! Today’s post is about a face mask I picked up recently – Montagne Jeunesse Choc Orange Sauna.

This is a self-heating mask that promises to open pores to give skin a deep cleanse. Montagne Jeunesse recommends you leave it on for 10-15 minutes before washing it off.

I’ve now tried this mask, and I’m disappointed. I bought this mask recently, but most of the product had turned into a solid mass inside the sealed sachet.

I was able to use some of the product, however, the self-heating effect was non-existent, and the mask didn’t really do anything for my skin at all.

The sweet chocolate-orange fragrance was still spot on. But it didn’t matter.

All in all, I’m disappointed. I think it’s possible this is old stock. However, I would expect the manufacturer to be aware of the rather limited shelf life of their products, and I would also expect them to print a use by date on such products.

Montagne Jeunesse Choc Orange Sauna is available as 15g. I paid 90p. This mask is approved by the Vegetarian Society, and it’s certified cruelty-free (it carries the Leaping Bunny logo).

Skinlab Revitalize & Hydrate Facial Serum

Hi there! Today’s post is about a skin care product that I’ve been using for about 4 weeks now – Skinlab Revitalize & Hydrate Facial Serum. This serum contains collagen, elastin, vitamin C, Moroccan rose oil, rose water, coconut water and shea butter. It promises to revitalise, hydrate, nourish, brighten, firm and tone the skin. Skinlab recommends the serum be used twice daily.

How do I use the product? I use the serum (2 pumps) right after I’ve sprayed my face with the wonderful B. Confident facial mist. Thanks to the facial mist, the serum is quickly and easily massaged into my skin (face and neck). At the same time, the serum locks in the extra hydration from the facial mist. Double score! Then I leave the serum alone for a few minutes before I apply my eye cream (at the moment it’s an eye gel) and my moisturiser.

How’s the product? I’ve been using this serum with a number of different face creams and lotions, and I think this serum works with all of them. I also think that my complexion looks more even and considerably (!) more radiant than usual. I have no doubt that it’s the serum that makes my skin look great because I don’t use any other new skin care products.

Having said this, I have to deduct imaginary points because this serum isn’t very hydrating. It’s fine when I use it in conjunction with the facial mist, but without it, the serum wouldn’t be hydrating enough for my very dry skin.

All in all, I am happy with the serum and with what it does for me. If you want a product that makes your complexion look more radiant and more even, I would definitely recommend it! Skinlab Revitalize & Hydrate Facial Serum is available as 30ml. I paid £5 (TK Maxx).

Nivea Refining Peel Off Mask

Hi there! Today’s short post is about Nivea‘s Refining Peel Off Mask for combination skin. 🙂

This face mask promises to exfoliate skin gently, to remove sebum and to reduce shine for several hours.

It works like any other peel-off mask. Just apply it to your face, let it dry for 15-20 minutes, then peel it off.

How’s the mask? I think it’s one of the best peel-off masks I’ve ever used. It removes dead skin cells as well as grease and grime with ease. It’s really powerful!

Nivea‘s Refining Peel Off Mask for combination skin is available as 2x 5ml. I paid £1. I will definitely go back to Poundland to buy more of these masks!

Bling Pop Soothing Face Mask With Charcoal

Hi there! Today’s post is about Bling Pop‘s Soothing Face Mask With Charcoal. This face mask promises to moisturise and to soothe skin. This mask works like any other regular sheet mask – place it on your face, leave it on for 15-20 minutes, then massage the excess into your skin. I always leave these masks on until they’re dry. I just can’t bin a sheet mask that’s still dripping with serum. I hate being wasteful.

How’s the mask? I think it’s pretty awesome! It feels deeply hydrating and it has a soothing effect. I’ve used a few of these masks already, and they helped turn angry skin into calm and happy skin in no time. I’ve also noticed that my skin tone looks brighter and more even every time I use one of these masks. In summary, if you see these masks at your local TK Maxx (or wherever), you really should pick them up!

Bling Pop‘s Soothing Face Mask With Charcoal is available as a pack of 10 sheet masks for £5.99 (TK Maxx). What an incredible bargain!

100% Cruelty-Free – Montagne Jeunesse Cucumber & Lime Crush

Hi there! Today’s post is about Montagne Jeunesse‘s Cucumber & Lime Crush Peel Off Face Mask.

This face mask promises to lift off dead skin cells and impurities, and to revive skin.

It works like any other peel-off mask: Apply it to your face, let it dry for about 15 minutes, and simply peel it off (then wash your face).

How’s the mask? I think this is an average face mask. Montagne Jeunesse has done a number of much better peel-off masks, so I don’t know why they keep pushing this one (this is a repackaged version of their cucumber peel-off mask).

In addition, this mask smells strongly of alcohol. It’s best to hold your breath when you apply this mask to your nose!

Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this face mask. Like I said, there are quite a few great Montagne Jeunesse peel-off masks, but this isn’t one of them.

Montagne Jeunesse Cucumber & Lime Crush is available as 10ml for 90p at Primark. This face mask is certified cruelty-free (it carries the Leaping Bunny logo).

Tesco Pro Formula Fresh Skin Brightening Foaming Face Wash With Grapefruit & Cranberry

Hi there! Today’s post is about Tesco Pro Formula Fresh Skin Brightening Foaming Face Wash With Grapefruit & Cranberry.

This face wash contains salicylic acid, vitamin c, and grapefruit and cranberry extracts.

It promises to remove dirt, oil and impurities with ease, and to prevent spots and imperfections from forming.

The product is easy to use – just use it as you’d use any other face wash. 🙂

I’ve been using this product on and off for a few weeks now, and I’m happy with it.

This face wash is gentle on the skin, but it’s actually quite powerful. I can feel that it cleanses my skin properly without making it feel stripped. It even removes make-up with ease! This is truly great!

Whilst I don’t think that this face wash has any visible brightening effect, I’m happy with its overall performance and I would recommend it.

Tesco Pro Formula Fresh Skin Brightening Foaming Face Wash With Grapefruit & Cranberry is available as 150ml for £3.
