Reducing My Oldies Stash – Astor Pure Colour Eyeshadow 530 Sweet Daisy, Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadow 03 Frosted Apple & 05 Chocolate Jewellery, Miss Sporty Studio Colour Smoky Eyeshadows 407 Luxury Smoky

Hi there! Today’s episode of Reducing My Oldies Stash is about a few single eyeshadows and eyeshadow compacts that I’ve had for quite some time. The 2 compacts are Astor Pure Colour Eyeshadow 530 Sweet Daisy and Miss Sporty Studio Colour Smoky Eyeshadows 407 Luxury Smoky.

The 2 single eyeshadows are Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadow 03 Frosted Apple & 05 Chocolate Jewellery. Now let me tell you if these products are any good. And let’s start with the Astor compact!

Astor Pure Colour Eyeshadow 530 Sweet Daisy

Astor Pure Colour Eyeshadow 530 Sweet Daisy is a duo eyeshadow compact that comes with a small applicator. The eyeshadows are a bit chalky and they’re not very well pigmented. And the colours turned out much cooler in real life. In the compact the colours look like a pale beige-rose and a brownish purple, but in real life they’re more like lilac and lavender.

I’m OK with lilac and lavender eyeshadows, but I’m not OK with them being chalky and rather poorly pigmented. I will continue to use these eyeshadows, but I don’t know if I can commit to finishing this Astor eyeshadow compact.

Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadow 03 Frosted Apple & 05 Chocolate Jewellery

Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadow 03 Frosted Apple & 05 Chocolate Jewellery are limited edition eyeshadows. I’m not sure if you would still be able to get your hands on them, but I’m sure that, at some point, Essence will ‘recycle’ these two shades – well, that’s if they haven’t already. 🙂

Frosted Apple is a rosey shade, and Chocolate Jewellery is a medium brown. Both eyeshadows have a metallic finish. I think these eyeshadows are really nice. The shades aren’t too out there – they’re actually fairly neutral, and the velvety texture makes these eyeshadows easy to blend. I enjoy using these eyeshadows, so, of course, I will continue to use them! 🙂

Miss Sporty Studio Colour Smoky Eyeshadows 407 Luxury Smoky

Miss Sporty Studio Colour Smoky Eyeshadows 407 Luxury Smoky is a small eyeshadow compact that comes with a tiny applicator. This compact is really small – it’s about 2cm x 2cm. Anyhoo… this compact contains four eyeshadows – a barely-there pale beige, a golden yellow, a medium grey and an almost black / charcoal shade.

The almost black / charcoal eyeshadow is the only well pigmented one. The other 3 eyeshadows aren’t great. They’re lacklustre. They lack… life! I can make these 4 eyeshadows work for me, but I don’t really enjoy using them. I will continue to use them, and I will try to finish them. Well, this compact is really small, so I think finishing it isn’t impossible. 🙂

Have you tried any of these eyeshadows or eyeshadow compacts? If so, feel free to let me know what you think. And thanks for stopping by!

Nail Of The Day – NYC In A Minute 019 A Perfect Day, MakeUp Revolution True Blue, Miss Sporty Sparkle Touch 888 Glitter & Stamping With QA89

NYC A Perfect Day MUR True Blue Miss Sporty Glitter and StampingHi there! A couple of weeks ago I did a blue and grey themed mani. It didn’t turn out the way I wanted. But I thought I should still share it.

I painted my nails with MakeUp Revolution True Blue (pinky, index finger, thumb) and NYC In A Minute 019 A Perfect Day (ring finger, middle finger).

I added some glitter – namely Miss Sporty Sparkle Touch Top Coat 888 Glitter – to my ring finger. And then I started stamping. 🙂

I chose my QA89 stamping plate – which is one of the many plates I haven’t used before (that’s because the images are too small for my nails when my nails are longer).

And I stamped on different images using Essence’s amazing White Stampy Polish.

Looking closely, the mani wasn’t perfect because the crown and flower images didn’t turn out the way I wanted them to. But I have to admit that, from a distance, the mani actually looked quite nice.

Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

Miss Sporty Dr Balm Gossip Kiss SOS

Hi there! A friend of mine gave me two Miss Sporty lip balms as a present the other day. And today I’m letting you know what I think of this Miss Sporty Dr Balm Gossip Kiss SOS lip balm. First of all, this lip balm has a slight orange tint and it smells of melons. So far, so good.

In regards to its moisturising qualities, I think this lip balm does a fairly decent job. It glides on smoothly and it feels nourishing without being too sticky. I’m currently using this lip balm as a base for my lipliner which works fine. I’m quite happy with this lip balm and I’ll definitely use it up.

In regards to the other Miss Sporty lip balm, I forgot the exact name, but it was a beige one and it smelled like a mix of cheese and gym socks. I chucked it out. Apparently it was supposed to be honey-flavoured, but it smelled really rank.

Anyway, if you’d like to try any of the Miss Sporty Dr Balm lip balms, you’d have to look for them online because they seem to have been discontinued.

Miss Sporty Studio Colour Duo Eye Shadow 204 Babe

Hi there! I’ve added a nother mini eyeshadow duo to my beauty stash. This is Miss Sporty Studio Colour Duo Eye Shadow 204 Babe. I got this one for 50p, so I won’t moan about how disappointed I was when I realised this was a sparkly eye duo (I swear it looked matte in store). Anyway, I managed to work it into my routine.  🙂

I would describe the two eyeshadows as a pale lavender and a soft purple. I’ve taken photos with and without flash. For some reason the shimmer doesn’t show up in the bottom swatch (no flash), but you can trust me, it’s there. And it’s quite prominent.

In terms of quality, I’m happy with the intensity of the colours and that they stay put. They’re just as good as Rimmel or Sleek eyeshadows. Whilst I wouldn’t do an eye make-up with these two shades only, I’ve done a few nice looks combining these two with greens and neutrals from my Garden of Eden palette.

I believe Miss Sporty Studio Colour Duo Eye Shadow 204 Babe has been discontinued, but you might still find it online or in a bargain store.

Miss Sporty Morning Baby BB Cream 001 Nude Radiance

miss psortyMiss Sporty Morning Baby BB CreamHi there! I could never warm up to primers because they make my dry skin worse, but someone suggested I try a BB Cream – and that’s what I did. I thought I’d start with a cheap product and see how it goes first. And that’s how I ended up using Miss Sporty Morning Baby BB Cream in 001 Nude Radiance.

At first let me tell you that this product is not a BB Cream. It doesn’t contain sunscreen and I don’t feel like I’m getting any skin benefits from it. It claims to be a skin perfecting make-up, but I don’t see it. At all.

Based on my experience using this product under my actual make-up for several weeks now, I don’t think it’s moisturising, it doesn’t erase skin imperfections, it doesn’t make my skin feel or look smoother, and it doesn’t give my skin a natural complexion.

I find the shade 001 Nude Radiance to be too dark and too orange. I would have expected a lighter shade. I’m also not happy with the coverage I get from this BB Cream – it doesn’t do much in this regard.

Another thing that really annoys me is that I have to apply the right amount the first time as it’s not buildable and it will start to crumble (yes, crumble!). I have now found the right amount of product to use, but the tube is almost empty…

I wouldn’t really recommend Miss Sporty Morning Baby BB Cream – unless you have oily skin and an even skin tone. I know this product is aimed at teenagers, but I don’t see how it would help cover up blemishes and the likes.

If you want to try Miss Sporty Morning Baby BB Cream, it’s available in two shades – Nude Radiance and Beach Radiance – for £3.49 each at most drugstores.
