Nail Of The Day – Halloween Nail Art Ideas / Revlon Brilliant Strength 190 Entice, Essence Colour Boost 05 Instant Summer, Rimmel I ♥ Lasting Finish 702 Marshmallow Heaven & Water Decals

Hi there! 2 weeks ago I told you that I’d be doing a couple of Halloween Nail Art Ideas posts this month. So today I’m showing you another Halloween-themed mani that I did recently. 🙂

For this mani I painted my nails with Revlon Brilliant Strength 190 Entice. This is a great quality polish. Great formula, great brush (flat, wide). Good job, Revlon!

I used a small piece of a cosmetic sponge to apply yellow (Essence Colour Boost 05 Instant Summer) and purple (Rimmel I ♥ Lasting Finish 702 Marshmallow Heaven) splashes of colour.

But the best things about this mani are the water decals (which I bought last year).

I think this mani looks really cute! It’s clearly Halloween-themed, but it’s not orange, it’s not gory, there aren’t any pumpkins or witches… I think this kind of mani would be perfect for everyone who wants to do a Halloween-themed mani that doesn’t look too standard, but that’s still easy to do.

How do you like this mani? Feel free to let me know. And thanks for reading!

Nail Of The Day – Halloween Nail Art Ideas / Revlon Colorstay 260 Bold Sangria & Stamping

Hi there! I’ve got another Nail Of The Day post for you today. 🙂

For this mani I painted my nails with Revlon Colorstay 260 Bold Sangria. I really like this polish. It’s the most beautiful dark purple colour.

I also used my home-made orange stamping polish and a number of different stamping plates with bat images.

I think this mani turned out OK. In real life it looked much better than it does in the picture. The orange bats looked almost flawless.

How do you like the idea of orange bats on a purple base? Feel free to comment if you want to. And thanks for stopping by!

Nail Of The Day – Halloween Nail Art Ideas / Blood Spatter Nails / A-Z Nail Art Challenge T – TV

Hi there! It’s October, and Halloween is just 4 weeks away.

So I thought I’d do a couple of Halloween Nail Art Ideas posts this month. 🙂

Let’s start with a classic – blood spatter nails! Nail enthusiasts have been doing this kind of mani for ages. But thanks to Dexter the classic blood spatter mani gained new fans. 🙂

This mani is super easy to do. I painted my nails with Primark’s own brand white polish (2 coats). And I used a toothpick and a random red polish (sorry, I don’t remember which one I used) to apply the “blood”. Job done!

By the way, this mani goes in the A-Z Nail Art Challenge folder. I’ll file it under T – TV (Dexter). How do you like this mani? Feel free to comment. And thanks for stopping by!

Nail Of The Day – NYC In A Minute 238 MoMa & Stamping With Pueen 65

Hi there! I’ve got a Nail Of The Day post for you today.

For this mani I painted my nails with NYC In A Minute 238 MoMa (2 coats).

And I stamped with Pueen’s 65 plate (which is part of Pueen’s Stamping Buffet collection) and Rimmel 60 Seconds 820 Hot Black To Go.

I think this mani looks alright. But I don’t love it because the pink polish turned out to be darker than expected. I wanted a pale pink, but I got a bright pink…

How do you like this mani? Feel free to comment if you want to. And thanks for stopping by! 🙂

Nail Of The Day – Gosh 549 Holographic Hero & Stamping With Pueen 76 / A-Z Nail Art Challenge H-Holo

Hi there! I’ve got a Nail Of The Day post for you today.

This mani is another one that I did for the A-Z Nail Art Challenge. And I’m filing this one under H – Holo.

For this mani I painted my nails with Gosh 549 Holographic Hero (2 coats). This holo polish is not great, but holo polishes aren’t readily available in the UK, so I’m actually happy to have this one (and several back-up bottles) in my stash.

I also did a little stamping – and I used Pueen’s 76 plate (which is part of Pueen’s Buffet Leisure collection) and Rimmel 60 Seconds 820 Hot Black To Go for that. 🙂

I think this mani looks quite nice. Do you agree? Feel free to comment. And thanks for reading!

Nail Of The Day – Primark PS… Quick Dry Nail Polish 18 Strobe & Stamping With Bundle Monster BM-S161 / A-Z Nail Art Challenge Z – Zebra

Hi there! Today I’m showing you another mani that I did for the brilliant A-Z Nail Art Challenge.

For the Z – Zebra challenge I painted my nails with Primark PS… Quick Dry Nail Polish 18 Strobe (2 easy coats). This is a very good white polish. And it’s 60p only. I will stock up!

I used Rimmel 60 Seconds 820 Hot Black To Go and Bundle Monster’s BM-S161 plate (from Bundle Monster’s Fuzzy And Ferocious set) to stamp zebra stripes onto my nails.

I’ve never done a zebra mani before but I think it turned out quite alright. What do you think? Feel free to get in touch. And thanks for reading! 🙂

Make Your Own Stamping Polish!

Hi there! If you read my weekly recap posts, you may remember that I said I wanted to try to make my own stamping polish. Well, I did it! 🙂 I wasn’t sure whether it would work out, but I really wanted to (at least try to) give unloved products (in this case a light orange nail polish and an orange eyeshadow) a new life. So here’s what I did…

I knew I wouldn’t use that orange eyeshadow, so I just crushed it up and funneled it into my (unloved) light orange Astor nail polish (which I might have another bottle of…). The 2 ingredients formed a thick paste, so I used some nail polish thinner to turn the paste into a liquid. Then I asked my husband to give the nail polish a good shake.

Of course, I tried my home-made stamping polish right away. I stamped an image onto black paper, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. And I’m really proud of myself for turning 2 unloved products into 1 product that I’ll actually use!

So if you have unloved nail colours and eyeshadows in your stash, you could try to turn them into stamping polishes! Buttery eyeshadows won’t work (obviously), but those (cheap) chalky ones should be perfect. Sure, there are no guarantees as to which products will work and which ones won’t – but if your unloved products are just gathering dust, you have nothing to lose. 🙂

Have you ever repurposed a beauty product? If so, what did you do? Feel free to get in touch, and thanks for stopping by!
