Empties – April 2022

Hi there! Today’s post is about all the products I finished in April. I used a bunch of single-use face masks – but I didn’t keep the empty sachets (I never do). But here are the big bottles and tubes.

Yves Rocher Monoï Lagoon Moisturizing Perfumed Body Mist – a very nice tropical body mist. I have at least 1 more bottle in my stash.

2 Anna Sui La Vie De Bohème Body Lotion – not my favourite Anna Sui fragrance. The body lotion was nice to use, but I wouldn’t repurchase it (or the matching fragrance).

3 Superdrug Layering Lab Blossom Body Mist – the best cheap Mugler Alien dupe you can find. I have a few more bottles, and I’d always repurchase this body mist.

4 Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum – one of the best serums ever. A definite repurchase.

5 Agent Provocateur Fatale Intense Eau De Parfum – a really nice fragrance, similar to Mugler’s Angel. I don’t think I’d buy it again though. I have a bunch of other Angel dupes to try and use (and use up).

6 MakeUp Gallery Time To Shine Completely Clear 1 – Poundland’s own brand clear polish. Not the best clear polish, but definitely good enough as a base or top coat.

7 Palmolive Aroma Moments So Sweet Shower Gel With Rooibos Tea, Rose And Almond – one of Palmolive’s best shower gels ever! My husband likes this one too. Unfortunately discontinued, but I have a few more bottles in my stash!

8 Sainsbury’s The Collection Sleep Relax Bath Soak – a very nice bath gel, and a definite repurchase!

9 Imperial Leather Indulgence Rich Moisturising Body Wash Beautiful – a lovely shower gel. Unfortunately discontinued, otherwise I’d buy it again.

10 Yves Rocher Jardins Du Monde Energising Shower Gel With Grapefruit – a decent shower gel. Not my favourite type of grapefruit scent, but I would probably still repurchase this shower gel.

11 Rightguard Shower + Oils With Argan, Marula & Almond Oil – what a beautiful shower gel! My husband used it a few times too, and he also liked it a lot! Unfortunately, this one appears to have been discontinued.

12 Gliss Ultimate Volume Conditioner – just lovely! Too bad Gliss discontinued the Ultimate Volume product line, otherwise I’d buy this conditioner (and the matching shampoo) again.

April was a decent month for empties. I’m glad I managed to finish 3 fragrances and 5 shower and bath products. I hope May will be good too. I already finished 2 products today.

January Beauty Awards

Hi there! Since it’s the last day of the month, today’s post is about all the products I loved the most in January. It’s quite a few products this month. Let’s start with the Top 3, and there are a few honourable mentions further down.

3rd place – Jil Sander Simply Elixir Eau De Parfum & Rich Body Cream

Jil Sander Simply Elixir was a lovely surpise! The fragrance smells a lot more expensive that it is. You could call it a female version of Dior Fahrenheit!

Runner-Up – Agent Provocateur Fatale Intense Eau De Parfum

Fatale Intense smells like a lighter version of Angel. What a great find!

WINNER – Scinic Sparkling Pore Toner

Whilst the 2 fragrances above have really blown me away, this toner is in another dimension. I worship this toner!

Onto the honourable mentions! Skin Treats Aloe Vera Restoring Sheet Mask and Skin Treats Fennel Brightening Sheet Mask were lovely. Westlab Reviving Epsom Bath Salts are a new household favourite. And Carex’s gentle shower products definitely deserve a mention too!

Valjean Labs Replenish Hydration Gel is a brilliant facial moisturiser, whilst Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair Fragrance-Free Non-Greasy Lotion is wonderful for the body. Essence XXXL Nude Lipgloss 06 Soft Almond is my current favourite lip product, and Lux Soft Touch Soap With SilkEssence TM & Rose Water is already on my list of products to buy again.

Wow, so many favourites! Have you tried any of these products? Which products have been your beauty heroes lately? Feel free to let me know via the comments, and thanks for stopping by! xo

Agent Provocateur Fatale Intense Eau De Parfum

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Agent Provocateur Fatale Intense Eau De Parfum. I’ve previously had 2 fragrances from the Fatale collection – the original Fatale and the lighter Fatale Pink. And now I’ve finally given Fatale Intense a try!

Fatale Intense contains the following notes: liquorice, dewberry and chili pepper (top notes), champaca flower, red rose and lotus (heart notes), and vanilla, leather and amber (base notes).

I can’t distinguish between any of the individual notes; all I can smell is Thierry Mugler’s Angel! To be fair, Fatale Intense is not a carbon-copy of Angel, but it would definitely pass for a lighter limited edition of Angel.

Fatale Intense is a winter fragrance, no doubt. But where Angel feels dense and almost suffocating, Fatale Intense is a lot more wearable as it lets you breathe. At the same time, Fatale Intense still has a very strong Angel vibe about it!

If you’ve always wanted to love Thierry Mugler’s Angel but you just couldn’t because it’s way too strong, you should give Fatale Intense a try! If you’re interested, Agent Provocateur Fatale Intense Eau De Parfum is available as 30ml, 50ml and 100ml. I paid £13.02 for a 50ml bottle. What a bargain!

Agent Provocateur Aphrodisiaque Eau De Parfum

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Agent Provocateur Aphrodisiaque Eau De Parfum. This fragrance contains the following notes: white pepper, blackberry and jasmine (top notes), honey, vanilla orchid and night blooming cereus (heart notes), and resins and musk (base notes).

Aphrodisiaque is meant to be a sexy fragrance – but it isn’t. Aphrodisiaque smells like a watered-down version of the fragrances my grandmother used to wear in the 1980s.

I’d describe the fragrance as wannabe old-fashioned. To me, it smells cold, balsamic and smokey with a touch of powdered white flowers and sugar. I’m saying sugar water and not honey because the sweet note is neither well-rounded nor warm. Unfortunately, Aphrodisiaque is also rather thin and fleeting, so there’s not much of a fragrance development.

To my surprise, my husband actually likes this fragrance on me (unfortunately, he can’t describe what he’s smelling), so I’m wearing it for him when we’re both at home. Otherwise, I would have given it away. If you’re interested, Agent Provocateur Aphrodisiaque Eau De Parfum is available as 40ml and 80ml. I paid £12.98 for the 40ml.

Agent Provocateur Fatale Pink Eau De Parfum

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Agent Provocateur Fatale Pink Eau De Parfum which I’ve been wearing for the past 2 weeks now. This fragrance has the following notes: tangerine, yuzu and whipped cream (top notes), datura, white camellia and pink lotus (heart notes), and bamboo, musk and black saffron (base notes).

I found this fragrance to be a huge disappointment. Fatale Pink is remarkably faint, and it doesn’t last for more than 30 minutes on me. I’m almost halfway through a 100ml bottle after 2 weeks – ridiculous. What little I can smell is nice enough – citrus and a whiff of pink flowers. However, I wouldn’t recommend this fragrance for obvious reasons.

Agent Provocateur Fatale Pink Eau De Parfum is available as 30ml, 50ml and 100ml. I paid £19.07 for the 100ml.

Agent Provocateur Fatale Eau De Parfum

Hi there! Today’s post is about a fragrance I started to wear just a few weeks ago – Agent Provocateur Fatale Eau De Parfum. This fragrance was a blind-buy for me. I’ve never smelled it before, but the 50ml bottle was under £15, and the notes sounded promising.

And those notes are pink pepper, mango and blackcurrant (top notes), gardenia, orris and patchouli (heart notes) and musk, vanilla orchid, chocolate and labdanum (base notes). Sounds nice, doesn’t it?

To make a long story short – the fragrance is nice! Very nice actually! On my skin, it’s mainly patchouli, musk and blackcurrant with a touch of powder (orris) and a hint of chocolate. I love it! On my clothes it’s vanilla, chocolate and patchouli. This is lovely too! Whilst this fragrance isn’t particularly longlasting, I don’t mind spraying it every few hours. I love the rich and slightly bitter blackcurrent note that I get with every spray. It’s really beautiful, and it works well with the patchouli and the musk.

I think this is a great fragrance for people who are just getting into musk and patchouli in perfumes. It’s not a real chypre, but it’s also not a random fruity patchouli fragrance (of which there are too many). It’s a modern and wearable composition; definitely suitable for men as well. And despite the name – Fatale – it’s a well-behaved (almost tame) fragrance that’s perfectly suitable for the office.

Based on my experience, I’d recommend this fragrance! Agent Provocateur Fatale Eau De Parfum is available as 30ml, 50ml and 100ml.  I’ve got a 50ml, but I’ve already ordered a 100ml as a back-up.
