Hi there! Today’s post is about a skin care product that I’ve been using for about 4 weeks now – Skinlab Revitalize & Hydrate Facial Serum. This serum contains collagen, elastin, vitamin C, Moroccan rose oil, rose water, coconut water and shea butter. It promises to revitalise, hydrate, nourish, brighten, firm and tone the skin. Skinlab recommends the serum be used twice daily.
How do I use the product? I use the serum (2 pumps) right after I’ve sprayed my face with the wonderful B. Confident facial mist. Thanks to the facial mist, the serum is quickly and easily massaged into my skin (face and neck). At the same time, the serum locks in the extra hydration from the facial mist. Double score! Then I leave the serum alone for a few minutes before I apply my eye cream (at the moment it’s an eye gel) and my moisturiser.
How’s the product? I’ve been using this serum with a number of different face creams and lotions, and I think this serum works with all of them. I also think that my complexion looks more even and considerably (!) more radiant than usual. I have no doubt that it’s the serum that makes my skin look great because I don’t use any other new skin care products.
Having said this, I have to deduct imaginary points because this serum isn’t very hydrating. It’s fine when I use it in conjunction with the facial mist, but without it, the serum wouldn’t be hydrating enough for my very dry skin.
All in all, I am happy with the serum and with what it does for me. If you want a product that makes your complexion look more radiant and more even, I would definitely recommend it! Skinlab Revitalize & Hydrate Facial Serum is available as 30ml. I paid £5 (TK Maxx).

Hi there! Today’s post is about my newest beauty weapon – Olay Anti-Wrinkle Instant Hydration Day Serum. This serum is meant to be applied in the morning – either before a regular moisturiser or instead of a moisturiser. I’m using this serum right before I apply my regular Olay Day Fluid– this way my skin gets the maximum hydration out of these products. 🙂 But now, let’s take a closer look at the serum!
Olay’s Anti-Wrinkle Instant Hydration Day Serum is simply fantastic. It promises instant hydration – and it gives you instant hydration. I love it! And I think this serum actually keeps my eczema at bay. The semi-permanent dry patch on my left cheek isn’t half as angry as it used to be. And as soon as I put on my make-up, that patch is 100% invisible – and it stays invisible all day. Fantastic, isn’t it?
Another thing I love about this serum is its formula. It’s soft and silky – very much like Boots’ No 7 serum – and it’s fun to apply. And smoothing it into my skin feels great! I’ve been using this serum for just under three weeks now, so I can’t comment on its anti-wrinkle properties. But my skin already feels so much more supple, flexible and elastic. I think this serum might actually prevent a few lines (the ones you get from dry skin…) from forming.
To sum it up, I think Olay’s Anti-Wrinkle Instant Hydration Day Serum is absolutely amazing. I would recommend it to everyone. Literally everyone! Priced at £10 (RRP) , the 50ml bottle is very affordable. But if you keep your eyes peeled for half price offers, you shouldn’t have to pay more than £5 for this serum. 😉

Hi there! It’s sample time again today. 🙂 I’ve had this Clarins Double Serum sample for ages. I was reluctant to try it because I once suffered a horrible reaction from using a different high-end serum (different brand), and a few (literally a few) reviewers who tried this Clarins Double Serum reported unpleasant skin reactions.
But I’ve now finally tried this serum – and I made sure it wouldn’t get anywhere near my eyes. And as soon as I had applied it, I washed my hands right away – just to be on the safe side.
The serum didn’t irritate my skin at all. So my worries were unfounded. But the serum didn’t do much for me.
I’m used to creamy serums which make my skin feel velvety in an instant. So I’m not in love with the thin formula of this serum. And I didn’t like that the serum became sticky while I was still smoothing it into my skin. But that’s down to personal preference and the next lady might love this formula.
Now back to why the serum didn’t work for me. OK, the serum claims to to make pores less visible and to target skin ageing in general. I acknowledge my review is based on a single use of this serum, so I can’t comment on its long term benefits. But I found that it actually made my pores look bigger than usual.
I also thought the serum could be more nourishing. I’m not saying it dried out my skin, but I put on moisturiser three times today because my skin felt less soft and supple than usual.
So based on my experience (a one-off use of this serum) I can say for sure I won’t be buying the full-size product. Clarins Double Serum may work fine for ladies with different skin types, and it may even be the best wrinkle-smoother in the world if it’s used long-term. But I won’t be spending £56 on the full-size product just to conduct a more extensive trial on a product I really didn’t like in the first place (runny, then sticky texture, not nourishing, made my pores look bigger).
Have you tried this serum? How’s it working for you? Is it the holy grail serum for you if you use it regularly? Please share your experience with me. 🙂 And thanks for stopping by!

Hi there! When I had a bit of a clear-out recently, I found these Boots Botanics Hydrating Serum Capsules.
It’s been a while since I actually used these serum capsules. But I remember I liked them, so I decided to give them another try.
For the past few days I’ve used the serum on my face (once daily, in the morning, before I applied my day moisturiser). And I’m really pleased with the product!
The serum feels wonderfully velvety. I love it! And it really does give my skin a moisture boost – just what I needed! And despite the rich formula, the serum doesn’t mess with my make-up!
It’s too bad these serum capsules have been discontinued some time ago. Otherwise I’d swing by my local Boots to stock up on them today! I also don’t know why I stopped using this serum back them. I know it didn’t cause me any skin trouble (I would have thrown it out), so I guess I probably just put the bottle somewhere safe and then I forgot about it…
I’ve previously used other Boots Botanics products as well – but only stuff from the older collection. But now I really want to look into the current product line! Any recommendations?
