The Crème Shop Last Christmas “Nice” Forever Young Face Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about The Crème Shop‘s Last Christmas “Nice” Forever Young Face Mask. This face mask promises to smooth out wrinkles, to restore skin vitality, and to repair worn skin. It contains sodium hyaluronate (which is listed as the 4th ingredient) and a number of botanical extracts.

I think this is a great mask! It feels deeply hydrating, and I am happy to confirm that it reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles. I guess that’s because of the hydration boost! Whatever it is, I am impressed! Another great thing is that the mask smells like baby powder which is just lovely! 😊

I would definitely recommend this face mask! The Crème Shop‘s Last Christmas “Nice” Forever Young Face Mask is available as part of The Crème Shop’s Last Christmas face mask set (3 Naughty and 3 Nice face masks). I paid £5.99 for the set (TK Maxx, clearance).

100% Awesome – Olay Total Effects 7 In 1 Anti-Ageing Day Moisturiser

Hi there! Today’s post is about Olay’s Total Effects 7 In 1 Anti-Ageing Day Moisturiser. In a nutshell, this product promises younger and healthier looking skin in 4 weeks.

Well, the product promises basically everything you’d want an anti-ageing product to take care of, but I won’t list everything because I don’t want to type 5,000 words. In addition, I’m reviewing the product anyway, so I’ll tell you what’s important. 🙂
Olay Total Effects
I think this moisturiser is awesome – and here’s why. The pump bottle dispenses the perfect amount of product. One pump gives me enough moisturiser for my face and my neck. Brilliant!

The moisturiser feels great on my skin – and it makes my skin feel great. It might be a bit too rich for women with oily skin, but my dry and moody skin loves this product. My skin has been looking healthier and happier for a few weeks now, and I haven’t had any visible dry patches for over a month. I’ve also noticed that my pores are less visible. Awesome!

Whilst this moisturiser is rather rich and nourishing, it’s not greasy at all, and it sits very well under my make-up. And I’m very happy about this because the office air con has been running in desert heat mode for about 6 weeks now…

To sum it up… Olay’s Total Effects 7 In 1 Anti-Ageing Day Moisturiser is fantastic. I love the product, and I know I’ll buy it again. And I would recommend this product to everyone! This 50ml moisturiser is usually £14.99. I paid £2.99 (Bargain Buys).

Spascriptions Anti-Aging Spa Treatment Mask With Grapefruit & Collagen

Hi there! Today’s post is about a face mask (well, a set of 5 masks) that I picked up a few weeks ago – Spascriptions Anti-Aging Spa Treatment Mask With Grapefruit & Collagen. This mask promises to improve the overall health and the appearance of the skin, and it claims to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet. On top of that, this mask promises to lift, firm and tone the skin, to fade age spots, and to increase skin luminosity.

How does it work? Cleanse your face before you use the mask, leave it on for 15 minutes, remove the mask, rinse off any residue – and that’s it. However, there’s also a word of warning on the back of the sachet. It’s made clear that you should not leave the mask on for longer than 15 minutes, and that you need to rinse your face immediately afterwards as otherwise you risk an allergic reaction. Scary!

Well, I used the mask anyway ( I started to read what’s on the back of the sachet after I’d put the mask on my face). So let me tell you about my experience!

First of all, I was hoping the mask would smell of grapefruits – but it doesn’t. The mask (well, the serum) has a standard cosmetical smell. It’s nice enough, but it’s nothing special.

When I put on the mask, I noticed that it felt cooling. And I really enjoyed the cooling sensation because it was pleasant and relaxing. This is what every single sheet mask should feel like!

Now… when I read the warning on the back of the sachet, I set a timer. When the 15 minutes were up, I didn’t do anything. I thought the mask felt awesome on my face, so it would be fine to leave it on for longer. However, about a minute later I noticed a slight tingling sensation. It didn’t feel scary, but I took off the mask and washed my face – just to be sure.

Then I looked in the mirror – and I saw instant results. Wow! Whilst I’m not obsessing over my fine lines, I do keep an eye on what’s happening with my face. And because of this I could tell that this mask works. The fine lines on my forehead were almost gone – my forehead looked pretty much like 3 years ago (that’s when my lines started to form). And the lines around my nose were significantly reduced – there was a huge difference to how visible these lines were under my make-up.

Whilst the effect was only temporary (it lasted for a day and a half), I’m quite impressed that this mask delivered real results. Because of this I’ll make sure to keep the other 4 masks for when I want to look fresher and younger. The occasion could be anything really – it could be a weekend away with my husband, or it could be a job interview…

In summary, I would recommend this face mask to everyone! Spascriptions Anti-Aging Spa Treatment Masks With Grapefruit & Collagen are available as sets of 5 masks for £4.99 (TK Maxx) which is a total bargain. And if you consider that 1 sachet contains enough serum for 2 to 3 uses, you can have a proper rejuvenating facial treatment at home for 33p!

So keep in mind that you can buy plain, compressed sheet masks which you can just pop into the sachets. The compressed masks will soak up the serum, so you have another sheet mask ready within a few hours, and you can be sure that you don’t waste any of the precious serum.

Have you tried this face mask? Or would you like to try it? Feel free to get in touch. And thanks for reading! 🙂

Reducing My Samples Stash – L’Oréal Revitalift Laser Renew Day & L’Oréal Revitalift Filler Renew

Hi there! Today’s post is about 2 samples I received fairly recently – L ‘Oréal Revitalift Laser Renew Day & L’Oréal Revitalift Filler Renew. Let’s start with the Laser Renew sample!

L ‘Oréal Revitalift Laser Renew Day contains hyaluronic acid and a chemical exfoliant (LHA), and it promises reduced wrinkles and smoother, firmer skin – after 4 weeks of use. Well, I had 1 sample, so I can only share my first impressions. Read on, and I’ll tell you more.

The first thing I noticed about this face cream was its lovely texture. It felt silky, and it melted into the skin. Nice! I think this face cream would be suitable for normal to oily skin types. But I don’t think it’s good enough for dry skin. After a couple of hours I could feel that this cream just wasn’t moisturising enough. What else? I liked the subtle fragrance. However, I’m not happy that this face cream doesn’t contain sunscreen. All in all, I’m 100% sure I won’t be buying the full size.

Sample number 2 is L’Oréal Revitalift Filler Renew Anti-Ageing Day Replumping Care (this is what it says on the back of the sachet). This product contains hyaluronic acid and fibroxyl plant extract, and it promises reduced wrinkles and plumper skin that bounces back. L’Oréal didn’t state how long it would take for results to be visible.

When I opened the sachet, the first thing I noticed was a strong (and not very feminine) smell. It wasn’t really unpleasant, but I didn’t care for it at all. I also noticed that this cream was considerably thicker than the Laser Renew cream I tried the day before. I wouldn’t say the cream was waxy, but the texture felt quite awkward. I have to admit that I expected the cream to flake. However, it did nothing of the sort. It went on fine. Still… this cream wasn’t very moisturising, and it doesn’t contain sunscreen, so this is another product I won’t buy the full size of.

If you’d like to try these L’Oréal face creams, they’re available as 50ml for about £20 – £23 each. I think they’re quite pricey, so I would recommend you look up reviews from people who’ve used these creams for a number of weeks. Anyway, if you’ve tried these face creams, please get in touch. I’d love to know if these products worked for you. 🙂

Boots Botanics Super Serum Triple Age Renewal

Hi there! Today I’m reviewing the day serum that I’ve been using for quite some time now. It’s called Boots Botanics Super Serum Triple Age Renewal. This serum claims to stimulate cell renewal, to visibly reduce the appearance of deep lines and wrinkles, and to improve skin firmness in 4 weeks. It contains hyaluronic acid, vitamins A, C and E, soy protein, moisturising sugars and plant antioxidants from purple orchids. Oh, and the serum is made in the UK!

So how’s the serum? I think it’s quite good! It’s quick and easy to apply, it’s absorbed almost instantly, and it feels moisturising. It also plays well with all sorts of different moisturisers. I don’t think that my skin feels firmer, and I can’t comment on whether this serum helps with deep lines and wrinkles because, fortunately, I don’t have any deep lines or wrinkles (yet). However, I do have a few fine lines on my forehead, and they seem to be less visible than a few weeks ago. Awesome!

In summary, I like this serum and I would recommend it! Boots repackaged the entire Botanics collection, and the prices seem to have gone up quite a bit. I paid £4 for my 30ml pump bottle in the old packaging, whilst the current version of the serum is just under £10, I believe. But please correct me if I’m wrong!

Have you tried this product? If so, how do / did you like it? Feel free to comment. And thanks for reading!

Olay Anti-Wrinkle Facial Cleansing Products – Cleansing Milk, Face Wash & Toner

Hi there! A few weeks ago I bought a few new Olay products – they were on a better than half price offer (£2.95 each instead of £5.99 each), so I had to have them. Now meet Olay Anti-Wrinkle Cleansing Milk, Olay Anti-Wrinkle Face Wash and Olay Anti-Wrinkle Toner.

Olay’s Ani-Wrinkle cleansing products promise…
– to help reduce the appearance of fine lines,
– to improve dull skin,
– to make skin look and feel smoother,
– to maintain skin suppleness,
– to promote the renewal of skin cells,
– and to “fight signs of ageing as you cleanse” (that’s what it says on the back of these three products).

I’ve now used these products for three weeks. And if you read on, I’ll tell you what I think of Olay’s Anti-Wrinkle cleansing products.
olay-anti-wrinkle-cleansing
I think the cleansing milk is quite effective. It removes my make-up very well, and it doesn’t cause any problems when I use it to remove my eye make-up. I think this cleansing milk makes my skin feel and look smooth and supple. Nice!

I really like the face wash. It reminds me very much of Olay’s Total Effects Face Wash – the texture and the fragrance are the same! I think this face wash makes my skin feel great. It’s creamy and it exfoliates my skin gently. It’s perfect for dry skin and for everyday use.

The toner is very nice too. It removes make-up and cleanser residue without problems, and it makes my skin feel clean and refreshed. Whilst I prefer the fragrance of Olay’s blue toner, I can’t find any issue with this toner.

I don’t think that any of these products have made a difference to my fine lines. But I really enjoy using these cleansing products because they make my skin feel great. In addition, I’m 35, so I can accept that the fine lines aren’t going away. 🙂

Olay’s Anti-Wrinkle cleansing products are available for £5.99 each. The toner and the cleansing milk are 200ml, the face wash is 150ml.

100% Vegan & Cruelty-Free – Superdrug Clearly Youthful Resurfacing Night Serum

Hi there! I’ve been using Superdrug’s Clearly Youthful Resurfacing Night Serum for quite a while, so I thought it’s about time I write a review!

Superdrug’s Clearly Youthful product line is aimed at women who want to tackle skin impurities and skin ageing – at the same time. This serum promises to resurface skin texture, to refine pores and to even out skin tone. At the same time the serum claims to contain collagen boosting tetrapeptide and anti-pigmenting red algae extract. In regards to skin impurities, this serum promises to control excess sebum and to prevent outbreaks with continued use.
superdrug-clearly-youthful-night-serum
Now, let’s take a closer look. This night serum is housed in a dropper bottle. In my opinion this isn’t ideal. I never get the dosage right, and, over time, dried-up product residue settles under the lid. I would have preferred a pump bottle – like the one they did for the day serum.

But now let’s talk about the actual serum! First of all, this night serum doesn’t smell great. The smell is tolerable, but it’s not great. But then, all the Clearly Youthful products have a chemical smell… Anyway, since this serum is actually really good, I accept its smell as a ‘quirky feature’. 😉

I use this serum 3 to 4 times per week, and I think it makes a difference to my skin. At the moment I’m not using the Clearly Youthful day serum or the Clearly Youthful glycolic peel-off mask, so this night serum has to do all the work. And it does what I need it to. It makes my skin look and feel significantly clearer, my pores appear smaller, and I have fewer spots. So yes, this night serum works! And I have already purchased another bottle. 🙂

I can’t comment on the serum’s anti-ageing properties (thanks to Olay my face is basically wrinkle-free). But if you struggle with spots or even minor skin impurities, I’d definitely recommend this night serum. I’d also recommend you try the day serum and the glycolic peel-off mask from the same line.

Superdrug’s Clearly Youthful Resurfacing Night Serum is available as 50ml for £4.89. I got mine for half price! So keep your eyes peeled for promotions.

100% Awesome – Olay Anti-Wrinkle 2 In 1 Firm & Lift Anti-Wrinkle Booster + Firming Serum

Hi there! Today’s post is about the wonderful Olay Anti-Wrinkle 2 in 1 Firm & Lift Anti Wrinkle Booster + Firming Serum. I’ve used this product on and off for a year – and I love it!

At first, let me tell you that this product promises to fill fine lines and wrinkles, to activate cell renewal and to nourish skin to boost firmness – within 14 days. The product also claims to be an ideal base for make-up, and it’s aimed at women aged 40+.
Olay Anti Wrinkle Serum Cream
I remember the first time I’ve used this serum. I fell in love with its gorgeous (yet subtle) fragrance. It smells like a high end product! Then I applied it to my face – and I couldn’t believe how wonderful it felt – like a mix of liquid silk and velvet. And still, after about a year of on and off use of this serum, I still feel like I’m hitting the jackpot every time I use it.

I think that this product really plumps up my skin and that it makes it firmer. I love it! I also agree with Olay that this product is a great base for make-up. However, it doesn’t contain sunscreen. So when I use this product in the morning, I still apply a day cream or day fluid with SPF on top of it.

I can’t comment on any long-term anti-wrinkle benefits. That’s because my skin is almost wrinkle-free. But then, I have to credit Olay for this because I know their regular day fluid DID take care of quite a few deeper lines which I had when I was a teenager but which I don’t have now – and I’m in my mid-thirties. Plus: I’ve never been to a beautician, I’ve never had plastic surgery or botox. And I also don’t use high end products. I only use affordable skin care – mainly Olay – which I buy when there’s a half price offer! 🙂

I’d recommend this product in an instant. Olay Anti-Wrinkle 2 in 1 Firm & Lift Anti Wrinkle Booster + Firming Serum is available as 50ml for around £10 – but the big drugstore and supermarket chains run half price or BOGOF promotions very frequently, so this product can be yours for £5 or slightly less!

Yves Rocher Sérum Végétal Deep Wrinkle Expert Care Day / Night

YR sample Serum Vegetal2Hi there! Today’s post is about Yves Rocher’s Serum Végétal Deep Wrinkle Expert Care Day / Night which I received a sample of a while ago.

Neither the sample nor Yves Rocher’s web site give a lot of information about the product. So the only thing I know is that this product promises to be an expert care product that combats deep wrinkles with instant and long-lasting effects. Now, let’s take a closer look!

I used this cream after I had cleansed my face. I didn’t like the smell, but I liked applying it because it felt really good. And my skin felt soft and moisturised the entire day.

I cannot comment on any long-term effects on wrinkles. However, this cream didn’t have any instant effect on my (admittedly few) wrinkles. And I’m not really happy that this product doesn’t contain sunscreen.

I won’t purchase the full-size product. Priced at £31 for a 30ml tube I find Yves Rocher’s Serum Végétal Deep Wrinkle Expert Care Day / Night quite expensive. Olay has a similar product which costs a fiver, so I’ll be trying that one. However, if you’re interested in Yves Rocher’s products, keep your eyes peeled for half price or BOGOF promotions!

Clarins Double Serum – Complete Age Control Concentrate

Hi there! It’s sample time again today. 🙂 I’ve had this Clarins Double Serum sample for ages. I was reluctant to try it because I once suffered a horrible reaction from using a different high-end serum (different brand), and a few (literally a few) reviewers who tried this Clarins Double Serum reported unpleasant skin reactions.

Clarins Double SerumBut I’ve now finally tried this serum – and I made sure it wouldn’t get anywhere near my eyes. And as soon as I had applied it, I washed my hands right away – just to be on the safe side.

The serum didn’t irritate my skin at all. So my worries were unfounded. But the serum didn’t do much for me.

I’m used to creamy serums which make my skin feel velvety in an instant. So I’m not in love with the thin formula of this serum. And I didn’t like that the serum became sticky while I was still smoothing it into my skin. But that’s down to personal preference and the next lady might love this formula.

Now back to why the serum didn’t work for me. OK, the serum claims to to make pores less visible and to target skin ageing in general. I acknowledge my review is based on a single use of this serum, so I can’t comment on its long term benefits. But I found that it actually made my pores look bigger than usual.

I also thought the serum could be more nourishing. I’m not saying it dried out my skin, but I put on moisturiser three times today because my skin felt less soft and supple than usual.

So based on my experience (a one-off use of this serum) I can say for sure I won’t be buying the full-size product. Clarins Double Serum may work fine for ladies with different skin types, and it may even be the best wrinkle-smoother in the world if it’s used long-term. But I won’t be spending £56 on the full-size product just to conduct a more extensive trial on a product I really didn’t like in the first place (runny, then sticky texture, not nourishing, made my pores look bigger).

Have you tried this serum? How’s it working for you? Is it the holy grail serum for you if you use it regularly? Please share your experience with me. 🙂 And thanks for stopping by!
