Nail Of The Day – Galaxy Nails Feat. Rimmel, Astor, Primark & Pop Rocks

Hi there! After yesterday’s Empties post, today’s post is about a mani I did a few weeks ago.

For this mani I painted my nails with Rimmel Lycra Pro 416 Night Flight (1 coat). Since galaxy nails aren’t about precision or perfection, I thought I could get away with 1 coat – and I did!

Then  I used a small piece of a make-up sponge to apply small blobs of white polish (Primark PS… Nail Polish Marshmallow).

Once the white polish had dried, I sponged pink (Astor Fashion Studio 002 Cotton Candy) and blue (Rimmel 60 Seconds 825 Sky High) polish onto the white areas on my nails.

And once the colour polishes had dried, I applied 1 coat of holographic glitter top coat (Pop Rocks With The Band) to add stars to the galaxies.

I liked this mani a lot. Whilst I’ve done better galaxy nails in the past, I did like the addition of a “proper” holo top coat. 🙂

Nail Of The Day – Astor Fashion Studio 002 Cotton Candy, Orly Hair Band, Water Decals & Stamping With Pueen 103

Hi there! Today’s post is about a mani I did a few weeks ago.

For this mani I painted my nails with Astor Fashion Studio 002 Cotton Candy (2 coats, thumbs, index and middle fingers).

This is an OK nail polish. I decided to use it for this mani because the bottle is more than half-empty, and I’m thinking I might actually finish this polish!

I used Pueen‘s 103 plate (which is part of Pueen‘s Make Your Day stamping plate collection) and Revlon Colorstay 270 Stiletto for the images.

I used floral water decals for my ring fingers and pinkies, and I painted 1 coat of Orly Hair Band over them.

I didn’t love the mani, but I did like it. This was a nicer than expected filler mani. 🙂

Nail Of The Day – Astor Fashion Studio 002 Cotton Candy & Stamping With Pueen 77 / A-Z Nail Art Challenge L – Love

Hi there! Today’s post is about my Valentine’s Day mani. Quite late, huh?

Anyhoo… for this mani I painted my nails with Astor Fashion Studio 002 Cotton Candy (2 coats).

The stamping plate I used is Pueen‘s 77 plate (which is part of Pueen‘s Buffet Leisure collection).

I decided to double-stamp, and I used 2 non-stamping polishes for this – Essence Colour & Go 140 Go Bold (gold) and NYC In A Minute 230 Penn Station (red).

I think this mani was alright. It was nothing special, but it looked cute. And I really liked the double-stamping effect!

This mani goes in the A-Z Nail Art Challenge folder. I’ll file it under LLove! How do you like this mani? Feel free to comment. And thanks for reading! 🙂

Nail Of The Day – Astor Fashion Studio 002 Cotton Candy, Essence Glitter Jewels 03 Glitz & Glam, Orly Liquid Vinyl And Stamping With Pueen

Hi there! Today’s Nail Of The Day post is about a random mani that I did a while ago.

For this mani I painted my nails with Astor Fashion Studio 002 Cotton Candy. The black base on the accent nail is Orly Liquid Vinyl. The glitter is Essence Glitter Jewels 03 Glitz & Glam.

I stamped with Rimmel 60 Seconds 820 Hot Black To Go and Pueen’s 54 plate (which is part of Pueen’s Stamping Buffet collection).

I didn’t like the colour combo, and I’ve never liked this stamping plate (I’ve never used it before). So, I didn’t like this mani. But it was OK for the 2 days that I wore it.

Onto new (and better) nail adventures! 🙂

Nail Of The Day – Nail Art Challenge #30 Inspired By A Tutorial

Hi there! Today’s post is about another mani I did for the 31 Days Nail Art Challenge. This mani is for challenge #30 Inspired By A Tutorial.

I was looking for cute and summery mani ideas online – and I found an easy looking tutorial for melon nails.

I tried to recreate those melon nails but, of course, I failed miserably. So I came up with a much easier melon mani (well, sort of).

For this mani I painted my nails with Astor Fashion Studio 002 Cotton Candy (pinky, ring and middle fingers, 2 coats) and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri 50 In Record Lime (index fingers, thumbs, 2 coats).

I applied loose black glitter hexagons (the only black glitter I have) to my middle fingers, and I top-coated all my nails with Orly Love Each Other.

I think this mani turned out alright. I have zero (nail) art skills, I can’t even draw a straight line. However, I’m proud of myself for coming up with a simple ‘solution’. So whilst the mani didn’t turn out the way I hoped, I was inspired by a tutorial. So somehow I actually nailed this challenge! Now wait for my interpretation of kiwi nails! 😀

Nail Of The Day – Nail Art Challenge #10 Gradient Nails

Hi there! If you read my blog you probably know that I’m doing the 31 Days Nail Art Challenge.

I have a few more manis to do, but today’s mani, my entry for challenge #10 Gradient Nails, gets me a little closer to the finish line.

I used these nail colours:
Astor Fashion Studio 002 Cotton Candy (pinky),
Revlon Colorstay 050 Passionate Pink (ring finger),
L’Oréal Color Riche 210 Shocking Pink (middle finger),
L’Oréal Color Riche 211 Opulent Pink (index finger, thumb),
Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear 235 Supernova (glitter topper).

I really like this mani. I’m satisfied that I’ve chosen the right nail colours (which isn’t as easy as you might think) and the right glitter topper. What do you think? Feel free to let me know. And thanks for stopping by! I appreciate it!
