Empties – July 2020

Hi there! Today’s post is about all the products I emptied in July. If you read my blog regularly, you know I don’t take photos of empty face mask sachets, but rest assured that I used lots of face masks last month! If you want to read about my latest face mask finds, click here! Now let’s get to the big bottles…

1 Palmolive Aroma Moments So Relaxed Aromatic Bath Foam (no photo) – one of my favourite bath products! Sorry, I have no photo. My husband was the one who finished the bath foam, and he binned the empty bottle.

2 Spa Premium Epsom Salts (no photo) – I enjoyed these bath salts, and I want to pick them up again next time I swing by my local Poundstretcher. Sorry there’s no photo. My husband finished these bath salts, and, of course, he doesn’t keep empty packs or bottles around. And no, he also doesn’t know that I photograph my trash! 😁

3 Herbal Essences Bio Renew White Grapefruit & Mint Volume Shampoo & Conditioner – not a bad conditioner, but not good enough for me to buy it again.

4 Body-X Twilight Amber – I liked this shower gel a lot, and I’d like to buy it again.

5 Imperial Leather Drop It Like A Sloth – a nice shower gel. The scent is a bit too masculine for my taste, but I think I’ll pick it up again for my husband.

6 Superdrug Vitamin C Detox Skincare Refreshing Cleansing Pads – these were lovely, and I’l repurchase them, no doubt!

7 Color Club Nail Polish – not sure about the name of the shade. This was 1 of the 6 polishes from their Bridal Collection set. I used this polish as a base coat. I think I emptied one of these before, so I have 4 more… In any event, I wouldn’t buy any of these non-colours again.

8 Barry M Base Coat Top Coat Nail Hardener – I think this is an OK clear polish for all sorts of purposes. I don’t think I’ll buy it again (unless it’s an emergency purchase).

9 I Love… Raspberry & Blackberry Shower & Bath Crème – This is I Love…’s best fragrance. I have several bottles (250ml and 500ml) of this amazing shower gel in my stash.

10 Radox Scent Touch Feel Fresh – I won’t buy this shower gel again. It smells too masculine for my taste.

11 Baylis & Harding Skin Spa Rose, Ylang Ylang & Patchouli Hand Lotion – it took me ages to finish this hand lotion – and most of it was actually used as a foot lotion. But it doesn’t matter. I DID IT! With my husband’s help. So this is a shared empty.

July wasn’t the greatest month for empties, but August should be better. I know I’ll finish a shower gel, a fragrance, a toner, a serum and a face mist well before the end of this week.

Which products have you said goodbye to recently? Feel free to get in touch via the comments, and thanks for stopping by! 🥰

Empties – December 2019

Hi there! Happy New Year, everyone! My first blog post in 2020 is about all the stuff I emptied in December 2019. At the bottom of the post I’ve also included a breakdown of everything I finished in 2019. The numbers don’t lie… I finished more than 300 products! Success! But let’s start with the December stuff:

1 Baylis & Harding Pink Grapefruit & Raspberry Shower Scrub – I enjoyed this product while it lasted, but I don’t think I’ll buy it again.

2 Anovia Replenishing Argan & Marula Conditioner – this is an OK conditioner. I don’t think I’ll buy it again because it’s not the most suitable product for my hair type. It smells lovely though!

3 Nivea Harmony Time Shower Cream – this is a nice shower gel that I’m happy to buy again.

4 Body X Feel Enchanted Shower Gel (no photo) – a nice shower gel. I’d buy it again. This is a shared empty because my husband enjoyed this shower gel too! And it was also my husband who finished the shower gel and binned the empty bottle – hence no photo. Boo!

5 Treacle Moon Happy Melon Sorbet – I love this stuff! It smells like honeydew ice cream. I’ve got 3 more 500ml bottles of this wonderful shower gel. This is a shared empty.

6 Flower Pharm Orange Flower Body Butter – another product I love! One of the best body butters ever. I have 2 more tubs.

7 Boots Botanics Nourishing Body Butter – my husband and I used this product as a foot butter, so this is another shared empty! This product has been discontinued ages ago, and this was the last tub I had in my stash.

8 Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Care Shower Moisturiser – this product came in handy – time and time again – like when it was too hot to use an actual moisturiser, or when I had a very early start, etc. I have a back-up!

9 Maybelline Back Eyeliner Pencil – a nice eyeliner, but this one may have been the last of the bunch – or I might have 1 or 2 more somewhere in my stash…

10 Rimmel Stronger Double Duty Base Coat – a good base coat. I have a few more of these.

11 L’Oréal Color Riche 210 Shocking Pink – one of my favourite pinks! I have 2 backup bottles!

12 Astor Couture Automatic Lipliner 013 Bois De Rose – my all-time favourite lipliner! I’ve got a few more of these!

13 Yves Rocher Vanilla Blanche / White Vanilla Hand Cream – a lovely hand cream. Too bad it was a limited edition!

14 Clarins Crème Jeunesse Des Mains / Hand And Nail Treatment Cream – I didn’t like this hand cream at all. Strange “fragrance” (more of a smell) and very siliconey. Good riddance.

I’m happy with what I finished in December. Now let’s look at what I finished in 2019! One thing… you might notice there are not shampoos listed. The reason is that I use matching shampoos and conditioners. Every time I finish a conditioner, I pass the leftover shampoo on to my husband who will finish it. Alrighty, now that this has been explained, here’s what I finished in 2019:

Single-Use Face Masks 131 😱
Shower Gels & Scrubs 51
Body, Hand & Foot Moisturisers 27
Lip Products 18
Conditioners & Deep Conditioners 13
Facial Cleansers, Scrubs, Washes, Cleansing Pads & Toners 11
Nail Polishes 9
Face Moisturisers 8
Eyeliners 7
Fragrances & Body Mists 6
Face Serums 5
Facial Sprays 5
Multi-Use Face Mask Tubes 4
Max Factor Pan Stiks 3
Nail Polish Removers 3
Eye Creams 2
Eyeshadow Singles 1
Eyeshadow Palettes 1

TOTAL 305!

I’m over the moon with how many I products I finished last year. I hope I can finish even more in 2020. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for reading, and again, Happy New Year! 🥳

Baylis & Harding Pink Grapefruit & Raspberry Bath & Shower Crème, Shower Scrub

Hi there! Today I’m reviewing 2 shower products – Baylis & Harding Beauticology Pink Grapefruit & Raspberry Bath & Shower Crème and Baylis & Harding Beauticology Pink Grapefruit & Raspberry Shower Scrub. I’ve used these products on and off for a few weeks now, and here’s what I think.

Baylis & Harding Beauticology Pink Grapefruit & Raspberry Bath & Shower Crème is a nice enough shower gel. I have no complaints really. However, I’m about halfway through the bottle, and I’m bored of the sweet raspberry fragrance. This stuff is going in the hand soap dispenser in the kitchen.

Baylis & Harding Beauticology Pink Grapefruit & Raspberry Shower Scrub is really nice. I like the sunny and fruity fragrance a lot, and I’m enjoying the exfoliating properties of this shower scrub. I’d recommend it!

Baylis & Harding Beauticology Pink Grapefruit & Raspberry Bath & Shower Crème is available as 500ml, and Baylis & Harding Beauticology Pink Grapefruit & Raspberry Shower Scrub is available as 250ml. I paid £1 each (Poundland).

Baylis & Harding Beauticology Pink Grapefruit & Raspberry Body Butter & Fragrance Mist

Hi there! Today’s post is about 2 body products which I picked up at Poundland – Baylis & Harding Beauticology Pink Grapefruit & Raspberry Body Butter and Fragrance Mist. I’ve been using these products on and off since mid-January, and here’s what I think.

Baylis & Harding Beauticology Pink Grapefruit & Raspberry Body Butter is very nice! Whilst it feels a bit sticky (it’s not too bad, I promise), I am not complaining because this body butter feels deeply nourishing. It also takes a minute or two to absorb, but I don’t mind because the result is beautiful skin that feels super soft and well hydrated. This is a great body butter!

Baylis & Harding Beauticology Pink Grapefruit & Raspberry Fragrance Mist promises to refresh and hydrate skin. I’m happy to confirm that it keeps its promise. The fragrance mist smells and feels very refreshing. I also like to spray it down my back because it’s hydrating.

What else? The fragrance of these 2 products is definitely a lot more raspberry than grapefruit. I would have preferred it the other way around, but I do like the fresh raspberry fragrance of these products, so I have no reason to be unhappy. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these products.

Baylis & Harding Beauticology Pink Grapefruit & Raspberry Body Butter is available as 250ml. Baylis & Harding Beauticology Pink Grapefruit & Raspberry Fragrance Mist is available as 100ml. I paid £1 each (Poundland).

Baylis & Harding Mango & Mandarin Fragrance Mist

Hi there! Today’s post is about Baylis & Harding‘s Mango & Mandarin Fragrance Mist which I picked up a few weeks ago.

This fragrance mist promises to refresh and hydrate the skin – and that’s exactly what it does!

I don’t know how it works, but this spray feels very fresh, almost cold, when it hits the skin. The cooling effect lasts for a few seconds, and it’s really nice.

I’m happy that the spray feels hydrating. I like to spray it down my back after the shower. It makes my skin feel soft and silky. Brilliant!

I think the fragrance itself is very pleasant because it’s refreshing, fruity and tangy. I’ve been enjoying it a lot over the past couple of weeks. Great stuff!

Baylis & Harding‘s Mango & Mandarin Fragrance Mist is available as 100ml. I paid £1 (Poundland). I’ve also seen matching body products (shower gel, shower scrub, body butter).

Baylis & Harding Skin Spa Rose, Ylang Ylang & Patchouli Hand Wash and Hand Lotion

Hi there! My last treasure hunt 😀 led me to my local Home Bargains store where I found quite a few lovely products. Two of them were Baylis & Harding’s Skin Spa Rose, Ylang Ylang & Patchouli Hand Wash and Hand Lotion. I paid £3.98 in total for two 500ml bottles – bargain!
Baylis & Harding Skin Spa Hands
The hand wash is very gentle to the skin. It doesn’t feel harsh or drying at all. The hand lotion is definitely one of the better ones I’ve had this year. It moisturises my hands nicely without feeling too sticky on the skin.

Now let me get to the Skin Spa scent. When I tried the hand wash for the first time, I thought the patchouli note was too smoky and too strong in general. However, only moments later the rose and ylang ylang notes began to shine through – absolutely lovely!

I encountered the same initial problem with the hand lotion, but the smoky patchouli note didn’t last long before the rose and ylang ylang notes made an entrance. So if you smell these products in-store and you think the patchouli note is overpowering, I promise you it won’t take long for the scent to change for the better! 🙂
