Weekly Recap 31 Oct – 6 Nov 2016

Hi there! A few of my blogging buddies (Jodi, Stashy) have started to do weekly recaps on their blogs. And I really like the idea, so from now on I’ll be doing weekly recap posts too. OK, let’s take a look at what I’ve been up to this week!

Monday 31 Oct – October Beauty Awards
I liked several new products in October. Two of them were Superdrug’s Superfruits Exfoliating Mask and L’Oréal’s Velvety Soft Toner. If you’ve missed the post or if you’d like to know which product I loved the most, click here.

Tuesday 1 Nov – Empties October 2016
I’m pleased with what I’ve emptied in October. I even managed to use up a few skin care products and nail polish! If you’re curious what else I’ve used up, click here to read the full post.

Wednesday 2 Nov – Haul! 30+ New Products
I also bought a lot of stuff in October. No surprise here! I bought nail polish, lip balms, hair care, make-up brushes, moisturisers, face masks and quite a few different face care products. Click here to take a look at all the stuff I bought.

Thursday 3 Nov – Nail Of The Day + Nail Art Challenge
I’m continuing with the 31 Days Nail Art Challenge – but on my own terms. 🙂 If you’ve missed the post or if you’re curious about which challenge I’ve completed, click here to read this week’s nail post.

Friday 4 Nov – Boots Mediterranean Body Butters

Since I’ve always bought more products that I could use, I’ve ended up with lots of old products. At the moment I’m making an effort to get on top of these old products. And I started with 2 Boots Mediterranean body butters. Click here to read the full post.

So, this is it for this week. I hope you liked this little recap. As always, thanks for reading! 🙂

Reducing My Oldies Stash – Boots Mediterranean Grape, Avocado & Lemon Body Butter And Bergamot, Orange & Olive Body Butter

Hi there! Not too long ago I told you that I have lots of old products in my stash. You could say some of these products are ancient! 😉 Now I’m not one who would just throw out a product – unless it’s off. So at the moment I’m making an effort to check out which oldies are still perfectly good to use. Today I’m telling you about Boots’ Mediterranean Grape, Avocado & Lemon Body Butter and Boots Mediterranean Bergamot, Orange & Olive Body Butter.

The Grape, Avocado & Lemon Body Butter doesn’t smell great. It doesn’t smell funky or off, it’s just that the scent isn’t great. The body butter itself looks and feels perfectly fine, so I’ve decided to use it as a foot butter (yes, that’s another one…). In fact I have used it on my feet for a few times now and it does a great job!

The Bergamot, Orange & Olive Body Butter smells absolutely fine. Actually, I really like the fresh citrus fragrance. And just like the other body butter, this one looks and feels perfectly alright. I have used this body butter a few times already, and it moisturises my skin very well. I will continue to use this one as a body butter.

So whilst these products have been discontinued a while ago, I’m quite impressed that they’re still perfectly good to use. So thank you, world of science, for preservatives in cosmetics and toiletries! And just a quick note: I may have more body butters from Boots’ old Mediterranean range… I know I used to buy toiletries in bulk, so I wouldn’t be surprised to find more tubs and tubes…
