NYC Metro Quartet Eye Shadow 796B Queens Boulevard

Hi there! Today’s post is about a little eyeshadow palette which I bought a while ago. It’s NYC Metro Quartet Eye Shadow 796B Queens Boulevard. I picked it up from a local bargain store (can’t remember which one) for either 99p or £1. In other words – it was super cheap, and I couldn’t resist. 🙂

As you can see, this eye palette is a small compact that comes with a tiny double-ended sponge applicator. And there are four eyeshadows in this palette. Shade 1 is a shimmery taupe. Shade 2 is a mix of blue and violet. Shade 3 is a shimmery champagne colour (highlighter). And shade 4 is a violet-tinted fuchsia.

The eyeshadows blend nicely, but they’re not very well pigmented. However, I really like the shades, so I don’t mind putting a little more effort into my eye make-up. And since this eye palette was £1 only, I can’t really complain. 🙂

Oh, and here’s a photo of what the eye palette looked like before I opened it!

Essence Single Eyeshadows Part II – 53 Pop Eye, 74 Peach Beach, 35 Party All Night, 09 Get Ready!, 04 Black Goddess

Hi there! Today’s post is part 2 of my review of Essence’s single eyeshadows. Not too long ago I found quite a few untried products in my stash. Since I wanted to actually wear / use the products before reviewing them, I’ve split up the eyeshadow review in two parts. In case you haven’t seen it, part 1 is here.
Essence Eyeshadows 2
I’ve now worn all of these five eyeshadows – and I really love them. As I’ve said in my last post, the quality of Essence’s eyeshadows is absolutely amazing. Pigmentation, blendability and staying power are great!

I swatched the eyeshadows in the following order: 53 Pop Eye (matte black), 74 Peach Beach (soft peach with intense shimmer – it’s almost holographic), 35 Party All Night (metallic beige-gold / it came out as a bright gold in the pic above – not sure why), 09 Get Ready! (teddy brown with pearl effect), 04 Black Goddess (shimmery dark grey – can be built up to charcoal).
Essence Eyeshadows 4
I’m so happy with these eyeshadows! They’re extremely pretty and of great quality. Essence has redone its eyeshadow collection – but the singles are about £1.60 each only – incredible value!

If you’d like to try Essence cosmetics (if you haven’t already), you can find their products at Wilko. If you’re interested in Essence’s lipliners, check out my swatches. 🙂

Astor Eye Artist Eye Shadow Palette 720 Smokey Black

Hi there! Today’s post is about Astor’s Eye Artist Eye Shadow Palette in 720 Smokey Black. I found this palette (and a few others) for 99p at my local Family Bargains store recently. So if you’re looking for a beauty bargain, don’t forget to swing by your local bargain stores! 🙂
Astor Eye Artist 720 Smokey Black 04
This eye palette is a small compact containing five eyeshadows (2 light greys, a medium grey, and 2 almost black shades) and a small double-ended sponge applicator.

All the eyeshadows are shimmery and they’re highly pigmented. They’re buttery and soft and a dream to work with. So yes, Astor’s Eye Artist Eye Shadow Palette in 720 Smokey Black is a quality eye palette.

I’ve also got Astor’s Smokey Purple palette – which, I think, is just as great. I’ll definitely go back to the bargain stores to see if they have any other colour combos. 🙂

Astor Couture Eye Shadow 760 Matte Grey, 750 Matte Black

Hi there! Today’s post is a short one. And it’s about two single eyeshadows I love: Astor Couture Eye Shadow 760 Matte Grey and 750 Matte Black. I found these eyeshadows for £1 – and they turned out to be amazing!
Astor Eye Shadow Matte Grey Matte Black 1
Each single eyeshadow comes with a small curved sponge applicator. I don’t use those sponge applicators on my eyes. But I always keep them because I can usually use them for nail art, especially gradients. 🙂

But let’s get to the eyeshadows now! I think Astor did a really good job with these two. The matte grey has an amazing colour payoff. The matte black isn’t perfect, but it’s just as good as Sleek’s matte black (Au Naturel palette).
Astor Eye Shadow Matte Grey Matte Black 3
I love these eyeshadows because they stay put and there’s hardly any fallout. Considering these eyeshadows were £1 (Poundland or Poundworld, can’t remember) only, the quality is really good! And yes, I would recommend them. So if you look for neutral, matte eyeshadows for everyday use, these are for you.

Accessorize Paradise Eyeshadow Palette

Hi there! Five months ago I bought this pretty Accessorize Paradise eyeshadow palette. I loved the cute design and the palette was £6 only for 32 eyeshadows. I thought I’d be stupid not to buy it. 😀
Accessorize Paradise 01
Back then I thought I’d use and review the palette shortly. But suddenly it’s five months later and I’ve only started to use the palette last week. Oops! But let’s look at the pretty shades now. As you can see, everything’s in there: shimmers and mattes, neutrals, purples, blues, greens, pinks, greys…
Accessorize Paradise 03
Let’s start with the top row! I wasn’t happy with the pigmentation and the texture of most of these eyeshadows. Number 4 – a bright gold – was the only convincing eyeshadow in this row. The seven remaining eyeshadows were poorly pigmented. Disappointing.
Accessorize Paradise 04
The eyeshadows in the second row were a bit better in terms of pigmentation. Shade 4 – a bold bronze – really stood out. However, the mattes were still chalky and row two was still not convincing.
Accessorize Paradise 05
The third row is bursting with shimmer eyeshadows, so of course these eyeshadows are much more pigmented. I am very happy with the colour payoff of six of these eyeshadows (shades 3 – 8). But it’s too bad that I don’t like most of the shades.
Accessorize Paradise 06
And now to the bottom row! I thought that the eyeshadows in this row were a very nice surprise. I’m very happy with the colour payoff and the texture of all of these eyeshadows because they’re easy to blend and they’re highly pigmented.
Accessorize Paradise 07
I think that Accessorize’s Paradise eyeshadow palette is not great. 16 eyeshadows are highly pigmented – but the other 16 are not. The palette was £6 only, and I think the design is very cute. However, unless you buy it for the design or you’re a collector, you won’t love this palette.

Astor Eye Artist Eye Shadow Palette 615 Smokey Purple

Hi there! Here’s another ‘look what I found at Poundland’ post. 🙂 The last time I went to Poundland I only picked up two items – one of them was this Astor Eye Artist Eye Shadow Palette – 615 Smokey Purple.

This palette is a small compact that contains five eyshadows and a small double-ended sponge applicator. I love the design of the palette and how the colours are arranged. However, the fifth eyeshadow is quite difficult to reach so you need to use a small eyeshadow brush.
Astor Eye Artist 615 Smokey Purple
All the eyeshadows in this palette are very shimmery; the shades are (from left to right): off-white, peach, lavender, purple and purplish medium grey. The off-white shade is no use to me, but I like all the other shades.

In regards to quality, these eyeshadows are very pigmented and buildable. They’re very easy to blend and they stay in place all day without giving me any trouble – I’d say they’re even better than Sleek’s eyeshadows in this regard.

I’m very happy with this Astor Eye Artist Eye Shadow Palette – 615 Smokey Purple. I’m currently using it alongside my I Heart MakeUp Passion Palette because I love purple, grey and neutral eyeshadows in autumn. If you like this little palette, you should check if you can find it at your local Poundland or Poundworld store!

MakeUp Revolution Haul! Products Worth over £30 FOR FREE!

Hi there! Just a few weeks ago MakeUp Revolution did a sensational promotion. It was something like buy stuff worth £30 and get lots of products FOR FREE! Let me show you the goodies – which items I paid for and which ones came for free.
MUR Haul
The Fastlove and MakeUp Geek palettes were part of the free products bundle. The Fastlove palette is usually £5.99, the MakeUp Geek palette is £7.99. I’ve been ogling both palettes for a while, so it’s great they came for free. 🙂
MUR Haul
The next palettes are Unicorns Unite, Welcome To The Pleasuredome and Girl Panic. These palettes are normally £6, but MUR did a 3 for 2 promotion, so I paid £12 in total for these three palettes.

MUR HaulNow on to the smaller products. I bought 8 liphug lipsticks (red packaging) for £1.50 each – that’s £12 in total. Everything else in the pic to the right came for free! The freebies were 3 lip geek lipsticks, a purplish WOW lipgloss, a blush stick (‘Malibu’), an ultra velour lip lacquer, a single eyeshadow (black) and a small plastic container filled with loose pigments. I won’t be using all these products, but I can give some of them away!

I understand that the freebies are either not as popular as the bestsellers or that they’re going to be discontinued, but seriously, the products are good and some of them were on my wish list, so I won’t complain. 😀
