Empties – January 2020

Hi there! The first month of 2020 is already over (What? How?), and I’ve got quite a few empties to report. Yes, I used a few single use face masks. No, I still don’t keep the empty sachets. But if you’d like to know if the masks I used recently are any good, click here. Now, onto the big empties!

1 Gliss Hair Repair Magnificent Strength Conditoner – this is a great product, and I’ll buy it (+ the matching shampoo) again!

2 Rightguard Shower + Elixir Black Orchid Shower Cream – this is a great shower cream! I already bought a backup! This is a shared empty because my husband enjoyed this shower cream too!

3 Treacle Moon Her Mango Thoughts Shower Gel – a nice enough shower gel, but I won’t repurchase it. The 500ml bottle was plenty!

4 Radox Cherry Blast Shower Gel – this is a nice shower gel. I might buy it again if I find it for cheap.

5 Classics Nail Polish Remover – my go-to nail polish remover. It’s £1 at Poundland!

6 Yves Rocher Nutritive Végétal Velvety Cleansing Milk – this is a lovely product that I’d like to repurchase!

7 Balance Active Formula Instant Effect Wrinkle Filler – this stuff doesn’t fill lines or wrinkles at all, but it’s a decent moisturiser. I won’t buy it again though. There’s better stuff out there.

8 My Little Pony Bath Bubbles (travel size)- this one was nice. I might purchase another MLP toiletries set!

9 + 10 99p Stores Wood & Forest Body Lotion AND The Red Forest Body Lotion (travel size) – I bought these ages ago, and because of this, I used these body lotions as foot moisturisers. These are shared empties because my husband used these too!

11 Yves Rocher Baies Des Merveilles / Marvellous Berries Bath & Shower Gel – a lovely shower gel that I’d buy it again if it hadn’t been a limited edition.

12 Yves Rocher Baies Des Merveilles / Marvellous Berries Perfumed Body Lotion – same thing here – I wish this hadn’t been a limited edition…

13 Boots Botanics All Bright Cleansing Toner – a great toner! I’ll repurchase it for sure!

14 Sanctuary Spa Classic Eau De Toilette – I love this fragrance! I’ve got several bottles from years of picking up half price gift sets on Boxing Day! 😁

15 Rightguard Shower Oils Pink Jasmine Shower Gel – a nice shower gel that I might buy again.

16 Superdrug B. Comforted Camomile Facial Spritz – this is a decent facial mist, but I dislike the fragrance, so I won’t buy it again.

17 Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Care All Over Body Cream With Moonstone Extract – an amazing moisturiser. Too bad it was a limited edition. This is the 2nd (and unfortunately the last) tub I had. If Superdrug ever decides to bring this product back, I’ll stock up!

18 Boots Botanics Luxurious Coconut Body Wash (travel size) – a nice enough shower gel. I have more minis from this range!

Wow, I emptied quite a lot in January! But to be fair, I had to get on top of all the half-full bottles and tubs before the move. And I have high hopes for February as well, so I’ll keep going! 💪 Which products have you said goodbye to recently? Please feel free to comment! And thanks for stopping by!

Suitable For Vegans – Original Source Shower Hibiscus & Pomegranate Tea, Vanilla & Raspberry, Skin Quench Cherry & Jojoba Oil

Hi there! Today I’m reviewing 3 shower gels which sound perfect for summer – Original Source Hibiscus & Pomegranate Tea, Vanilla & Raspberry, and Skin Quench Cherry & Jojoba Oil. These shower gels are also suitable for vegans – they’re approved by the Vegan Society.

You can find Original Source shower gels in most supermarkets and drugstores where the 250ml bottles retail for £2 to £2.30. Or you can pick them up for £1 or less (bargain stores, special offers). Now onto the reviews!

Original Source Hibiscus & Pomegranate Tea is very nice. It smells of tea, red fruits and exotic flowers. Despite the ‘red’ fragrance this shower gel is actually refreshing. I think it’s one of the best limited editions Original Source ever did!

Original Source Vanilla & Raspberry sounds great – but it’s not. From the bottle it smells like raspberry ice cream, but as soon as you start to lather it up on your skin, the ice cream fragrance disappears, and the shower gel starts to smell like candle wax. The only good thing about this shower gel is that it doesn’t feel drying. However, since I don’t want to shower with anything that smells like candle wax, this shower gel will end up in the hand soap dispenser in the kitchen…

Original Source Skin Quench Cherry & Jojoba Oil is really good. This shower gel is very moisturising (those jojoba oil beads really work), and it smells like boiled cherry sweets. Awesome fun!

Have you tried any of these shower gels, or would you like to try them? Feel free to get in touch via the comments. And thanks for reading. 🙂

Kawaii Alert! Positively Fruity Body Washes – Smells Like Sunny Strawberries, Smells Like Wild Cherries, Smells Like Tropical Showers

Hi there! I found these super cute looking Positively Fruity Body Washes at my local Poundland the other day. The tubes were sealed, so I couldn’t have a sniff. But they looked so cute I just had to have them! I found three fragrances – Smells Like Sunny Strawberries, Smells Like Wild Cherries, and Smells Like Tropical Showers.

Before I tell you about the fragrances, let me mention a few things the three body washes have in common: I think they’re quite thin. So be careful to avoid spilling them all over the place. I had to place the tubes in the corner in my shower – upside down! Oh, and the screw lids aren’t very practical…

What I love about these body washes is that they’re not drying at all. They’re gentle and they actually feel moisturising. But unlike some of the heavier shower creams (i.e. Dove), these body washes make me feel refreshed and clean. Thumbs up! And now let’s discuss the fragrances. 🙂
Positively Fruity Shower
Smells Like Sunny Strawberries smells sweet and fruity – like sunny strawberries! I think the strawberry fragrance is quite authentic and not overpoweringly sweet. Very well done!

Smells Like Wild Cherries
is my favourite of the three. It really smells of wild cherries. Again, very authentic. And much better than higher end products costing ten times as much. This one’s going to be a definite spring and summer beauty staple!

Smells Like Tropical Showers is sunny, sweet and tropical! It reminds me of gummy bears and jelly beans – minus the sugar. The coconut isn’t very noticeable (I think that’s great). All in all, a very nice and enjoyable fragrance!

Positively Fruity Body Washes are available as 200ml tubes for £1 each at Poundland. Now my local Poundland has more products from this range – bath salts, cosmetics bags and body lotions. I’ve now bought the body lotions as well, and I’ll try them shortly. So it won’t be long until I tell you what I think about the matching body lotions.
