100% Cruelty-Free – Superdrug Detoxifying Dead Sea Mineral Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is Superdrug‘s Detoxifying Dead Sea Mineral Mask.

This face mask is suitable for vegetarians, and it’s certified cruelty-free (it carries the Leaping Bunny logo). Cool!

What does it do? This mask, which is aimed at people with normal to dry skin, promises to cleanse and detoxify skin for a clearer and more vibrant complexion.

Does it work? To some extent it does. I’m happy that this mask cleanses my pores, but it doesn’t give my skin that deep clean feel that it gets from almost every other mask. And I don’t think that it makes my complexion look any different, so I have to say that it doesn’t give me any visible results.

Superdrug‘s Detoxifying Dead Sea Mineral Mask is available for 99p. Superdrug runs 3 for 2 promotions on own-brand face masks almost all the time.

Hunny Bee Lavender Face Mask Infused With Charcoal

Hi there! Today’s post is a review of Hunny Bee’s Lavender Infused With Charcoal Face Mask. This sheet mask promises to be a deep cleansing treatment that purifies the skin and helps get rid of blackheads. It also claims to refine pores.

How does it work? The instructions state that the mask should be left on for 10 to 15 minutes after which you’re supposed to massage the excess serum into your skin. I left the mask on for almost an hour (=until it was dry), and I was really happy with the results!

When I removed the mask I could see that my skin looked clear and refreshed, and that my pores were visibly smaller. This amazing effect lasted for 3 days! I also thought that the serum felt deeply hydrating without being greasy (which was amazing too) ! To sum it up, this skin treatment worked, and I really enjoyed it!

I would recomment this sheet mask to anyone who wants clearer skin. Hunny Bee’s Lavender Infused With Charcoal Face Mask is available as a pack of 5 for £4.99 (TK Maxx).

February Beauty Awards

Hi there! It’s the last day of the month – so it’s time for my February Beauty Awards (a.k.a. my monthly favourites). I’ve chosen my top 3 from all the products I’ve reviewed this month, and I’ve thrown in a few honourable mentions. Let’s start with the top 3!

3rd place – Max Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless 3 In 1 Foundation Natural 50

I was seriously impressed with this Max Factor foundation! If you’re looking for a full coverage foundation, you should try this one!

Runner-Up – Yves Rocher Les Plaisirs Nature Organic Raspberry Shower Gel & Silky Lotion
YR PN Raspberry
Yves Rocher’s raspberry-scented toiletries are simply wonderful. I’m sad Yves Rocher discontinued them. What were they thinking?!

WINNER – Caolion O2 Sparkling Purifying Soap

Caolion’s charcoal soap is a new favourite. It made a huge difference to my skin. I love it!

Onto the honourable mentions! This month I tried 2 awesome new hand creams – The Body Shop’s Almond Milk & Honey hand cream and Vaseline’s Intensive Care Hand Cream + Anti-Bac.

NSPA’s Shea Butter body butter is great too. And I can’t get enough of these cute My Little Pony lip balms. Oh, and Montagne Jeunesse’s Chocolate Mud Masque was awesome fun!

These are the products that I loved the most in February. Have you tried any of these products or would you like to try them? Which products did you like best this month? Feel free to get in touch. And thanks for stopping by!

100% Cruelty-Free – Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven Chocolate Mud Masque

Hi there! Today’s post is about a face mask that I picked up at my local Poundstretcher store – Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven Chocolate Mud Masque.

This mask is a clay mask. All you have to do is apply it to your face, leave it on for about 15 to 20 minutes, rinse it off – job done!

I’ve only just tried this mask for the first time – and I could kick myself for not trying it sooner!

This mask is definitely one of the more effective clay masks. It made my face look and feel super clean without drying out my skin. And the chocolate fragrance is… tempting! 🙂

So… you like chocolate? You like clear skin? Well, what are you waiting for?!

Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven Chocolate Mud Masque is available as 20g for £1. This mask is 100% cruelty-free. It’s BUAV-appoved, and it carries the Leaping Bunny logo!

100% Awesome – Caolion O2 Sparkling Purifying Soap

Hi there! Today’s post is about Caolion’s O2 Sparkling Purifying Soap. This handmade facial soap is 100% natural. It promises to purify and exfoliate the skin by getting rid of impurities. It also claims to control sebum and to tighten pores. It further promises to hydrate the skin.

A quick look at the ingredients revealed that the soap contains… charcoal powder, lavender oil, tea tree leaf oil, hyaluronic acid, olive fruit oil, jojoba seed oil, cocoa extract, coconut oil, shea butter and licorice root extract. Of course, there are a number of other ingredients, but these are the ones I consider to be the most natural (sounding) ones. 🙂

OK, why is this facial soap so awesome? When I used it for the first time, I noticed a huge difference. My skin felt and looked super clean and my pores were visibly smaller. At the same time my skin didn’t feel dry at all. I was impressed! After about 10 days I also noticed that this soap seemed to have lifted those pesky little mini-blackheads off from my nose. I was blown away!

I think this facial soap is sensational! My husband uses it too – and he loves it just as much! I would recommend this facial soap to everyone! If you don’t try it, you’re missing out!

Caolion’s O2 Sparkling Purifying Soap is available as 25g and 100g. I bought my 25g soap at Boots (where it seems to be out of stock at the moment), and I paid £4!

100% Cruelty-Free – Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven Dead Sea Mud Pac

Hi there! Today’s post is about Montagne Jeunesse’s 7th Heaven Dead Sea Mud Pac with Dead Sea salt, sea kelp and lavender.

This face mask promises to draw out impurities and to open blocked pores for clear and soft skin.

I’ve tried this mask for the first time now, and I think I’m somehow familiar with it.

The mint green colour of the mask reminded me of 2 mud masks I reviewed (and liked) not too long ago. And the marine fragrance reminded me of 2 peel-off masks which I reviewed (and didn’t like) a little while ago.

However, this mask was still new to me. So… is this mask any good? Well, I didn’t love the marine fragrance (it’s too much ‘pond’ and ‘algae’), but I think this mask gave my skin a deep cleanse.

I also thought that this mask made my pores look smaller, so all in all I think this is a reasonable face mask that I would recommend to those who want an effective mud mask and who wouldn’t mind the strong marine fragrance. 🙂

Montagne Jeunesse’s 7th Heaven Dead Sea Mud Pac is available as a 20g sachet for £1 or as a 175g tube for about £6. This product is certified cruelty-free. It carries the Leaping Bunny logo!

100% Cruelty-Free – Montagne Jeunesse Vanilla Sundae Scrub Mask

Hi there! Today’s skin care post is about Montagne Jeunesse’s Vanilla Sundae Scrub Mask.

This mask is exclusive to Primark where I picked it up for 90p!

Onto the review! I think this face mask is nice. It’s not as thick as most other clay masks, but it works just fine.

I also like that it’s a scrub mask, so it exfoliates my skin twice – once when I apply the mask, and then again right before I rinse it off.

And the sweet vanilla and sugar fragrance makes the mask smell almost good enough to eat! Tempting! 😀

Montagne Jeunesse’s Vanilla Sundae Scrub Mask is certified cruelty-free. It carries the Leaping Bunny logo!

100% Cruelty-Free – Montagne Jeunesse Blueberry Blast Mud Masque & Gorgeous Grape Mud

Hi there! If you’re a fan of Montagne Jeunesse, you know that the company does new masks all the time. However, it’s likely that you also know that many of those ‘new’ masks aren’t really new. Montagne Jeunesse recycles old formulas, or they give masks new names.

So when I picked up Montagne Jeunesse’s Blueberry Blast Mud Masque and Gorgeous Grape Mud, I had a hunch that these two masks would be identical. So I compared the ingredients on the back of the sachets. Guess what – the lists of ingredients really were identical! But wait, there’s more!

When I tried those masks, I also found that they were copies of Montagne Jeunesse’s Berrylicious Mud Masque. I’m certainly not complaining because the Berrylicious mask became an instant favourite. So I’m glad to see it was repackaged twice and not discontinued!

So what’s this mask like? This mask is a clay mask. You need to leave it on for about 15 minutes before you rinse it off with water. And once you’ve done that, you’re being rewarded with clearer skin. In a nutshell, this mask really works – and it smells fantastic. Awesome stuff! From now on I’ll make sure to pick up any ‘new’ purplish Montagne Jeunesse mask that I can find!

100% Cruelty-Free – Superdrug Sugar & Spice Self-Heating Mask

upload-1Hi there! Today’s post is about Superdrug’s Sugar & Spice Self-Heating Mask which I picked up for 99p.

This mask promises to cleanse, brighten and soften skin. Does it work?

I think this mask is just OK. It gave my skin an okayish cleanse, but it didn’t make my pores look smaller, and it didn’t brighten my skin.

It was obvious that this mask is nowhere near as powerful as all the other self-heating masks that I’ve tried.

The best thing about this mask is its sweet caramel tea fragrance. However, I wouldn’t buy a face mask for its fragrance. This means that I won’t be buying this face mask again.

Superdrug’s Sugar & Spice Self-Heating Mask is certified cruelty-free. It carries the Leaping Bunny logo.

100% Vegan & Cruelty-Free – Sukin Purifying Facial Masque

Hi there! Today’s post is about Sukin’s Purifying Facial Masque. This mask for all skin types contains cleansing kaolin clay, as well as soothing aloe vera and hydrating rose hip oil.

The instructions are quite simple – apply the mask, let it dry and leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse it off… and you’re done! 🙂

So how’s the mask? I think that this mask is quite alright. It doesn’t give me any visible results, but it makes my skin feel clean and soft. So yes, I’m satisfied that this face mask works!

However, I don’t love the fragrance – the mask smells like marzipan. If you like marzipan, you’ll love the mask, but the fragrance is just way too sweet for my taste.

All in all, I’m happy to continue to use the mask on a weekly basis. Sukin’s Purifying Facial Masque is vegan, cruelty-free and carbon-neutral. I paid £7.97 (well, I spent 797 store points).
