Best Of Beauty 2020 – Face

Hi there! 2021 has just begun, but I thought I’d share my favourite products from 2020. Since I loved so many products, there’ll be a second post tomorrow. Anyhoo, today’s post is all about my 2020 favourites for the face (in no particular order).

Elizavecca Milky Piggy Hell-Pore Cleanup AHA Fruit Toner

This toner is just WOW! It’s one of my all-time favourite skin care products!

Elizavecca Milky Piggy Aqua Rising Argan Gelato Steam Cream

Another amazing Elizavecca product! I loved this moisturiser!

Boots No. 7 Youthful Replenishing Facial Oil
Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Care Refreshing Toning Mist

Boots’ facial oil is the best facial oil I’ve used so far. 11 stars!
Superdrug’s face mist has served me very well, and I’ll buy it again soon!

Cellio It’s True Moisture Skin Pearl Natural Skin Care System

Cellio’s toner is one of my current beauty favourites.

Cellio It’s True Acai Berry Moisture Cream

Cellio’s Acai Berry moisturiser is another current beauty favourite.

Scinic Vita Ade Eye Cream

Scinic’s eye cream was incredible. I’m heartbroken that it’s been discontinued.

Zatik Rosehip & Black Seed Organic Oil Serum

Zatik’s insanely rich oil serum has kept my dry skin in great shape this winter.

Superdrug Vitamin C Detox Skin Care Refreshing Cleansing Pads

Superdrug’s Vitamin C Facial Pads are lovely. I will repurchase them soon.

Primark PS… Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Sheet Mask

Primark’s Hyaluronic Acid Sheet Mask was one of my favourite beauty finds last summer.

Boots Sheet Mask With Added Dipeptide
Bling Pop Soothing & Brightening Face Mask With Pumpkin

Boots sheet mask with added Dipeptide is simply wonderful.
Bling Pop’s pumpkin sheet mask is awesome too.

DearBoo Lavender & Cactus Everyday Mask
Simple Pollution Protect Sheet Mask

DearBoo’s lavender & cactus mask was a very welcome surprise.
Simple’s Pollution Protect mask has been a firm beauty favourite since the beginning of 2020.

Spascriptions Brightening Spa Treatment Mask With Vitamin C & Glycolic Acid
Montagne Jeunesse Pink Cactus Flower Peel Off

SpaScription’s orange mask is something special.
And Montagne Jeunesse’s cactus flower mask is my favourite peel-off mask of 2020.

And these are my favourite skin care products in 2020. Have you tried any of these products, or would you like to give them a try? Feel free to get in touch via the comments. And thank you for reading! 😘

Empties – September 2020

Hi there! Today’s post is about all the products I emptied in September. As always, I used a number of single-use face masks, and if you’re wondering if they were any good, you can click here to read about my latest face mask finds. Now let’s take a look at the big bottles, tubs, etc…

1 Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Tonic – one of my favourite skin care products. I’ve already repurchased it.

2 L’Oréal Fine Flowers Gel-Cream Wash – this is a decent face wash. Repurchase? Probably!

3 NSPA Deliciously Soft And Sweet Peach Shower & Bath Gel – this isn’t a great shower gel. Most of it went into the hand wash dispenser. I wouldn’t care to buy it again.

4 Original Source Hydrating Water Infusions Pineapple & Lemon Zest Shower – this is a nice shower gel that I might buy again.

5 I Love… Juicy Watermelon Revitalizing Shower Gel – a decent shower gel. However, this is a huge 750ml bottle, and the fragrance got old less than halfway through the bottle, so I repurposed this shower gel as a hand wash.

6 Original Source Plum & Blackcurrant Shower – I really liked this one. Smells like yummy cough lozenges. 😍 I believe this one has been discontinued, but I think I have one more bottle in my stash.

7 Orly Clear Nail Polish – the best quick-dry polish I’ve ever used. I can paint my nails with it and 2 minutes later I can get in the shower and wash my hair. I have 7 or 8 more bottles of this amazing nail polish.

8 NYC 16H Lipstain 491 Forever Freesia – this is an amazing product. I think that I have a backup!

9 Manhattan Colour Loop Lipgloss 52S Soft Nude – I love this lipgloss. I think this is the 3rd one I’ve finished. And I have 4 more – 2 red, 1 brown(ish) as above, 1 berry! 😍

10 Elizavecca Milky Piggy Aqua Rising Argan Gelato Steam Cream – this is a very good face cream. It doesn’t have SPF, but since I’ve been working from home since March (and still am), I used it as a day and night cream. I would buy this face cream again! But I have a few other Elizavecca products to try first.

11 Original Source Hydrating Water Infusions Raspberry & Rose Water – a nice shower gel. I can see myself buying it again.

12 L’Oréal Elvive Triple Resist Reinforcing Shampoo & Conditioner – this is a very good conditioner. I will buy it (and the matching shampoo) again.

13 Boots Extracts Sweet Mango Body Lotion – I loved this body lotion. Unfortunately, the entire line has been discontinued, and I’m sad that I won’t be able to buy it again.

I think I’ve done well with the big bottles – 5 more shower gels are history. And I’m glad to have finished a few more skin care products as well! Have you tried any of these products or would you like to try any of them? What have you emptied recently? Feel free to get in touch via the comments and thanks for reading! 😘

June Beauty Awards

Hi there! It’s the last day of the month, so it’s time for my monthly favourites post. I picked my TOP 3 from all the products I reviewed this past month. And I’ve got a couple of honourable mentions as well. 🙂

3rd place – I Love… Raspberry & Blackberry Refreshing Body Spritzer

This I Love… body spritzer smells wonderful, and it’s insanely refreshing. I love it!
Vaseline’s cocoa body oil gel is simply amazing. Another new favourite!

WINNER – Elizavecca Milky Piggy Aqua Rising Argan Gelato Steam Cream

This Elizavecca moisturiser is truly special. Another new favourite for sure! 🥰

Onto the honourable mentions! I was impressed with Beauty Formulas’ collagen sheet mask. And I’m very happy with the formula and the flavour of Rimmel’s Sunkissed lip balm.

Elizavecca Milky Piggy Aqua Rising Argan Gelato Steam Cream

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Elizavecca Milky Piggy Aqua Rising Argan Gelato Steam Cream which I’ve been using for a few weeks now. This product contains a number of great ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid, vitamin E and a number of botanical extracts. Sounds good!

This face cream has a lovely and subtle floral fragrance. Its texture feels waxy – but it changes to thick-yet-watery as soon as it’s applied to the skin. I cannot really describe the change of texture any better, but it feels like the wax is turning to water on your skin. At the same time it still feels rich and deeply nourishing. This is definitely unique!

I’m also very happy with the level of hydration my skin is getting from this face cream. My skin looks nice and plump, and whilst the look and sound of the cream made me a bit cautious (if your skin has ever reacted badly to a product, you know what I mean), I’m happy to report that the face cream is super gentle on my skin. This is one of my favourite products this month for sure!

Based on my experience, I’d recommend this face cream to everyone with normal to dry skin. However, always check the ingredients to make sure a product is suitable for you, and if in doubt, please do a patch test!

And about Elizavecca products – when you buy those, please be careful. There are lots of fakes out there – some more obvious than others. Please only buy from reputable sellers. If the product isn’t sealed or the spelling is funny (i.e cosmetiocs), get a refund and always report the seller as it’s quite possible that they sit on a large quantity of counterfeit stock which they will continue to sell.

Elizavecca Milky Piggy Aqua Rising Argan Gelato Steam Cream is available as 100g. I paid £9.99 at TK Maxx.
