Garnier Pure Active Intensive Charcoal Scrub

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Garnier Pure Active Intensive Charcoal Scrub with salicylic acid.

This scrub is aimed at people with oily to spot-prone skin. It promises to cleanse the skin, to eliminate impurities and excess sebum, and to help fight spots and marks.

On the back of the tube it says that the scrub is not recommended for people with sensitive or dry skin.

On paper, the scrub is not suitable for me, but I rarely have trouble with supposedly harsher products; instead it’s usually products for sensitive skin that give me a rash or cause my eyes to swell up.

On another note, this scrub is meant for daily use, so how “bad” can it be?

I’ve used this scrub for a few times now, and I think its cleansing and exfoliating powers are average. I would say this product exfoliates skin gently. Based on its name and what it says on the back of the tube, I would have expected a more powerful scrub. Ah well… On a more positive note, this scrub hasn’t caused my skin any trouble, so it’s definitely suitable for me.

I will continue to use this scrub, but I wouldn’t buy it again. Garnier Pure Active Intensive Charcoal Scrub is available as 150ml. I think I paid £3.

Reducing My Oldies Stash – Tesco Pro Formula Fresh Skin Brightening Face Scrub With Grapefruit & Cranberry

Hi there! Today’s review is about Tesco’s Pro Formula Fresh Skin Brightening Face Scrub.

This product contains salicylic acid, vitamin C, and grapefruit and cranberry extracts. And it promises to enegise, brighten, exfoliate and purify skin.

This scrub is supposed to be used like every other scrub – just massage it into your skin in circular motions, and make sure you don’t get this stuff into your eyes. 🙂

How’s the scrub? I think it’s quite good! It’s effective but also gentle. I can see and feel that it exfoliates my skin properly, but it doesn’t feel too harsh. Cool!

The mixed fruits fragrance isn’t very spectacular, but it’s not unpleasant. It’s perfectly alright – so I have no reason to complain.

Tesco’s Pro Formula Fresh Skin Brightening Face Scrub is £3 for a 150ml tube.

100% Cruelty-Free – Montagne Jeunesse Pumpkin Pie Sauna Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about a mask I picked up a few weeks ago – Montagne Jeunesse Pumpkin Pie Sauna Mask.

I like a good sauna mask, and the pumpkin pie theme sounded perfect for this time of year. So there was no reason not to buy it. 🙂

Now that I’ve tried this face mask, I’m happy to report that it’s freakishly amazing! This mask isn’t just a sauna mask, it’s also a scrub mask!

This means that the mask is self-heating, so it opens the pores. And on top of that you can give your face a good scrub for that extra deep clean feel!

I’m really glad I bought this mask. And I would recommend it to everyone! I will definitely pick up a few more of these masks!

Montagne Jeunesse Pumpkin Pie Sauna Mask is exclusive to Primark where you can pick it up for 90p. This product is also certified cruelty-free!

100% Cruelty-Free – Montagne Jeunesse Candyfloss Scrub

Hi there! Yesterday I showed you another mani that I did for the A-Z Nail Art Challenge. And today’s post is about Montagne Jeunesse’s Candyfloss Scrub which is exclusive to Primark (where it’s 90p).

This sugar scrub mask is easy to use. Apply the product and massage it over your face. Leave it alone for 10 to 15 minutes. Then rinse.

I think this mask is effective because you exfoliate your skin twice – the first time when you apply the mask, the second time when you rinse it off.

And the mask is fun too! The candy floss fragrance is sweet and authentic, and the gooey texture of the mask makes you think you really have some sort of sugary paste on your face. Awesome fun!

All in all, I would recommend this mask, and I will buy it again. Montagne Jeunesse’s Candyfloss Scrub is certified cruelty-free. It’s BUAV-approved, and it carries the Leaping Bunny logo.

Boots Essentials Cucumber Facial Scrub, Cucumber Toner & Cucumber 3-Minute Clay Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about 3 dirt cheap Boots own-brand products – Boots Essentials Cucumber Facial Scrub, Facial Toner, and 3-Minute Clay Mask. These products are £1.50 each, but Boots ran a 3 for £3 promotion, so I paid £1 each. Now let me tell you if these products are any good!

I really like Boots Essentials Cucumber Facial Scrub because it’s effective without being too harsh. And the fragrance – which I’d describe as a clean and feminine fragrance with a hint of cucumber – is nice and pleasant. If I hadn’t known that this is Boots’ cheapest and most basic own-brand scrub, I wouldn’t have believed it. Well done, Boots!

Boots Essentials Cucumber Facial Toner is very good. It feels refreshing, and the cucumber fragrance is really nice. And whilst this toner contains alcohol, it doesn’t feel drying at all. I’m also glad to be able to report that I found this toner perfectly safe to use around my eyes. There was no stinging or burning at all! Outstanding!

Product number 3 is Boots Essentials Cucumber 3-Minute Clay Mask which promises to leave skin deeply cleansed, soothed and toned. Does it work? Oh yes! After a single use of this mask my skin felt cleaner and my pores looked considerably smaller. Yes, I left the mask on for longer than 3 minutes, but I always leave masks on for longer than recommended. In any event, the important thing is that my pores looked smaller. Considerably smaller! Awesome!

Like I said, these Boots Essentials products are £1.50 each. The scrub and the clay mask come in 50ml tubes, and the toner bottle houses 150ml of product. I will continue to use these products, and I will buy them again, no doubt. I will also try other products from Boots’ Essentials collection.

Have you tried any of these products? If so, how do / did you like them? Feel free to get in touch via the comments. And thanks for reading!

Garnier Skin Naturals Fresh Radiance Boosting Scrub

Garnier Skin Naturals ScrubHi there! Quite some time ago I mentioned that I wouldn’t let scrubs that contain crushed apricot seeds or walnut shells anywhere near my face.

But I’m very happy to use face scrubs without abrasive ingredients, like Garnier’s Skin Naturals Fresh Radiance Boosting Scrub.

This paraben-free scrub is aimed at people with sensitive, dull and tired skin. And it promises to purify and revitalise skin.

I’ve used this scrub for a few times now, and I think it’s really good. It’s not too harsh, so it doesn’t harm my skin. But it still gives my face a good scrub. I also think this scrub smells and feels refreshing. In case you’re wondering, it smells like sunny citrus fruits. 🙂

I will continue to use this scrub for sure. I will use it on a weekly basis. And I would definitely recommend this scrub, especially if you want to say goodbye to abrasive scrubs, or if you have dry or sensitive skin. Garnier Skin Naturals Fresh Radiance Boosting Scrub is available as 150ml for £3.99. I bought mine on a save 1/3 deal.
