Yves Rocher Monoï Eau Des Vahinés Eau De Toilette

Hi there! Today’s post is about a new fragrance favourite of mine – Yves Rocher Monoï Eau Des Vahinés Eau De Toilette. I’ve wanted to try this fragrance for ages, but I didn’t want to spend money on another fragrance I might not like. However, when I placed an order a few months ago, this fragrance was a free gift with purchase. 😎

I’ve been wearing this fragrance a lot over the last 2 months, and I’m blown away. This is the most wonderful tropical fragrance one could imagine. It’s all about tiaré flowers with drops of ylang-ylang flower water and a touch of vanilla. It’s very creamy, and it smells much more expensive than it is. I would describe the fragrance as seductive, heavy and heady. However, it would still be perfect for the hottest summer days because it smells like a tropical holiday. 11 STARS!

Yves Rocher Monoï Eau Des Vahinés Eau De Toilette is available as 100ml eau de toilette. Yves Rocher does matching body products as well. I bought 3 more bottles of this fragrance, and I bought a few bottles of the matching body mist as well. I just don’t want to be without this amazing fragrance!

Patisserie De Bain Sweet As Cherry Pie Body Mist

Hi there! Today’s post is about Patisserie De Bain‘s Sweet As Cherry Pie Body Mist. 🙂

Patisserie De Bain is a UK brand that specialises in toiletries with sweet-treat fragrances. I’ve previously tried and reviewed their Cranberries & Cream and their Crème Pâtissière body products.

I haven’t blown away by their offerings, but since a number of Patisserie De Bain products have ended up at Poundland, I was happy to pick up a few items – like this body mist.

I’ve been using this body mist on and off for a few weeks now, and I have to say that I like it! As of now, it’s my favourite Patisserie De Bain product. Here’s why…

This spray is the perfect cherry fragrance. It’s sweet, it’s fruity, but it doesn’t have that old dish towel smell that so many cherry pie themed body products seem to have. Whilst it appears that this body mist is aimed at teenagers and women in their early twenties, I have to say that it reminds me of the slightly medicinal, yet unbelievably delicious cherry note in Délices de Cartier!

Patisserie De Bain‘s Sweet As Cherry Pie Body Mist is available as 150ml. I paid £1 (Poundland).

Baylis & Harding Mango & Mandarin Fragrance Mist

Hi there! Today’s post is about Baylis & Harding‘s Mango & Mandarin Fragrance Mist which I picked up a few weeks ago.

This fragrance mist promises to refresh and hydrate the skin – and that’s exactly what it does!

I don’t know how it works, but this spray feels very fresh, almost cold, when it hits the skin. The cooling effect lasts for a few seconds, and it’s really nice.

I’m happy that the spray feels hydrating. I like to spray it down my back after the shower. It makes my skin feel soft and silky. Brilliant!

I think the fragrance itself is very pleasant because it’s refreshing, fruity and tangy. I’ve been enjoying it a lot over the past couple of weeks. Great stuff!

Baylis & Harding‘s Mango & Mandarin Fragrance Mist is available as 100ml. I paid £1 (Poundland). I’ve also seen matching body products (shower gel, shower scrub, body butter).

Wonder Woman Shower Gel, 2 In 1 Shampoo / Conditioner, Roll-On Eau De Toilette

Hi there! Today’s post is about 3 Wonder Woman branded products. These products were manufactured by H&A, a UK-based company that makes products for all sorts of different brands – they even made the Pusheen products I snapped up on Boxing Day!

Moving on… here’s what I’m reviewing today – Wonder Woman Shower Gel, Wonder Woman 2in1 Shampoo & Conditioner, and Wonder Woman Roll-On Eau De Toilette.

The shampoo is quite nice. It lathers up nicely, and it feels clarifying. The lovely sweet rose and powder fragrance is gorgeous! This product has no conditioning qualities, but that’s OK. I’ve already finished one of these shampoos a little while ago – this is my 2nd bottle! 🙂

I’ve finally tried the shower gel as well. It has the same wonderful sweet rose and powder fragrance, and it doesn’t feel drying. I like it very much!

The eau de toilette roll-on is simply awesome! Again, it has the same sweet rose and powder fragrance as the shampoo and the shower gel, and I think the fragrance smells a lot more sophisticated than what you’d expect from such a cheap item. And the roll-on looks great in my cosmetic bag! 🙂

Wonder Woman Shower Gel and 2in1 Shampoo & Conditioner are available as 100ml in a set. The Eau De Toilette is available as 8ml roll-on. I paid 50p each (clearance). I’ve also seen a full-size Wonder Woman fragrance (same design, same manufacturer) for £14.99 at Superdrug. I think that was a 30ml bottle (but I’m not entirely sure).

Anna Sui Flight Of Fancy Eau De Toilette

Hi there! Today’s post is about Anna Sui‘s Flight Of Fancy Eau de Toilette. I’ve been wearing this fragrance on and off for over a year now, so I thought it’s time for a review!

Alrighty! This fragrance contains the following notes: litchi, lemon, yuzu (top notes), freesia, rose, magnolia (heart notes), and amber, musk and woods (base notes).

I think Flight Of Fancy is a wonderful summer fragrance. It smells of sunny lemons with a touch of freesia. It’s fresh, full of energy, summery, yellow and happy. If you’ve ever wanted a fragrance that’s a mix of D&G Light Blue (which is lemon-fresh) and J Lo Live (which is incredibly juicy), this is it!

Anna Sui‘s Flight Of Fancy Eau de Toilette is available as 30, 50 and 75ml Eau de Toilette. In addition, Anna Sui does seasonal gift sets with matching body products!

Thierry Mugler Alien Aqua Chic

Hi there! Today’s post is about a fragrance that I bought a little while ago (clearance) and that I’ve been wearing on and off for a few weeks now – Thierry Mugler Alien Aqua Chic.

Alien Aqua Chic is a limited edition from 2013, and it contains the following notes: ginger and lemon verbena (top notes), freesia (heart note), as well as wood and amber (base notes).

What’s the fragrance like? It’s really nice. I like it! It’s a lighter version of the original Alien. It doesn’t seem to contain any jasmine, but it still has the typical Alien feel to it. I think the ginger and lemon verbena notes give the fragrance a lovely refreshing vibe, and the freesia note feels transparent and airy.

I think Thierry Mugler Alien Aqua Chic is a great spring and summer fragrance. It’s a limited edition, but it can still be found online. Just make sure you buy it from a reputable seller, OK? 🙂

The Body Shop Early Harvest Raspberry Eau De Toilette

Hi there! Today’s post is about The Body Shop Early Harvest Raspberry Eau de Toilette. I picked up the 30ml fragrance for £5 earlier this year (winter sale).

When I sniffed the fragrance for the first time, I thought it was the perfect raspberry fragrance. Because of this I bought another bottle! 😄

When the second bottle arrived, I started to wear the fragrance right away. But something had changed!

The fragrance, which I was sure smelled sweet, fruity and juicy, wasn’t really that great. I tried the fragrance (both of them) several times over a few weeks, but every time it smelled rather tangy and very synthetic.

Now, just over 4 months later, one of the bottles is almost empty (I might finish it this weekend). The other bottle is about 70% full, and I’ll pass that one on to my teenage relative.

Verdict: This fragrance is best (= wearable) when it’s combined with something else. TBS Early Harvest Raspberry plus Pacifica’s Island Vanilla makes for a decent fragrance. However, it’s nothing special, and I understand why The Body Shop discontinued this fragrance! I’ve also learnt a lesson – don’t buy back-up bottles of fragrances you haven’t tested properly!

Anna Sui Eau De Toilette

Hi there! Today’s post is about Anna Sui Eau de Toilette, a.k.a. Anna Sui Anna Sui (!), Anna Sui Original or Anna Sui Classic.

This fragrance for women contains the following notes: raspberry, apricot and bergamot (top notes), Bulgarian rose, desert jasmine and iris (heart notes), and cedarwood, sandalwood and powdery tonka (base notes).

What’s the fragrance like? I’d describe it as a powdery, yet transparent iris fragrance. Based on what I smell I’d guess it’s 80% iris, 10% rose, 5% lilac and 5% powder. I don’t get any of the fruity or woody notes.

I think Anna Sui Eau de Toilette is a great spring fragrance. It’s also office-safe (pleasant floral fragrance, no big “cloud”). I’d recommend it to anyone who likes powdery floral fragrances!

Anna Sui Eau de Toilette is available as 30ml. I paid £13 for my bottle (reputable online shop through ebay).

100% Vegan & Cruelty-Free – Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Body Wash, Body Butter & Perfume

Hi there! Today’s post is about Pacifica’s Blood Orange Body Wash, Body Butter & Perfume. These products were part of a gift set which I picked up for next to nothing (clearance). I’ve now tried these products, so let me tell you if they’re any good.

Let’s start with the body wash! I really liked this one. It lathered up nicely and it cleansed my skin well without being too harsh. I also liked the boozy blood orange fragrance.

The body butter is… well… not a body butter, but more of a lotion. The product’s also nowhere near as moisturising as it claims to be. However, the main issue is the “fragrance”! This body butter doesn’t smell as bad as Pacifica’s Indian Coconut Nectar body butter, but it still smells unclean (a mix of night sweats and candied oranges). We (my husband and I) use this body butter as a foot lotion!

I’ve already reviewed the perfume – and you can read the full review here. But to summarise my thoughts… this perfume isn’t a summer fragrance. It smells like a mix of oranges, strawberries, marmalade and a hint of carrot. I think it’s an autumn fragrance that would go well with pumpkin spice scented body products!

I don’t think I’ll be buying any of these products again. I do like the perfume, but I don’t love it. The body wash is nice, but it’s not nicer than the shower gels I can find in supermarkets or drugstores (or bargain stores).

Yves Rocher Secrets D’Essences Vanille Noire Eau De Parfum

Hi there! Today I’m reviewing a fragrance that I’ve been using on and off for about a year – it’s Yves Rocher’s Secrets d’Essences Vanille Noire.

This fragrance contains the following notes: vanilla from different countries (Uganda, Tahiti, Madagascar), mimosa, mandarin, and cedar.

Yves Rocher describes the fragrance as “between sensuality and freshness”, and “between transparency and depth”.

OK, so what’s the fragrance like? I think Vanille Noire is rather unspectacular. It’s not a bad fragrance, but it’s just so unremarkable.

The actual scent is a mix of vanilla, almond and cold smoke. Vanille Noire is also rather faint. And it doesn’t last very long.

Since my husband thinks that the fragrance is nice, I will continue to wear it around the house until I finish the bottle (which will happen very soon). However, I will not repurchase the fragrance.

And if you’re interested, Yves Rocher’s Secrets d’Essences Vanille Noire is available as 50ml for £63. However, Yves Rocher runs half price or buy one get one free promotions frequently, so there’s no reason to pay full price! By the way… my bottle is a 30ml which was free (gift with purchase)!
