Guilty Pleasure – Jennifer Lopez Live Eau De Parfum

J Lo LiveHi there! Today’s post is about a guilty pleasure of mine – Jennifer Lopez Live EDP. It’s one of my favourite fragrances. But I try to keep it a secret in real life. 😉

What I love about Live is that it’s not like ‘all the other fruity fragrances’, and that it’s definitely one of the best celebrity fragrances out there.

Live is full of live. It’s juicy, it’s sunny, it’s full of energy, it’s optimistic and it’s youthful. It’s alive. I think most fruity fragrances smell pink, but Live is different. It smells yellow! 🙂

Now, Live contains the following fragrance notes: Sicilian lemon, Italian orange and pineapple (top notes), redcurrant, peony and violet (heart notes), and tonka beans, sandalwood and caramel (base notes). Live sounds delicious, doesn’t it?

I think Live smells like a mix of fresh pineapple, caramel and vanilla with a hint of powder. It’s perfect for the colder seasons because the juicy, tropical fragrance is a real pick-me-up. But it’s just as perfect for the hottest summer days because it’s not too sweet. Yes, it’s got all these sweet notes, but it’s a lot more juicy and sunny than it is sweet. Like I said, it’s a yellow fragrance.

Jennifer Lopez Live is available as 30, 50 and 100ml EDP. Prices vary greatly – the RRP for the small 30ml bottle is around £24. However, lots of stores sell the big 100ml bottle for under £20.

Do you have any guilty pleasure fragrances? Feel free to let me know in the comments. And thanks for stopping by!

Limited Edition – L’Eau Par Kenzo Ice

L'Eau Par Kenzo IceHi there! I finished this fragrance – L’Eau Par Kenzo Ice (aka Kenzo Ice) very recently. I’ve never reviewed it – so I thought it’s about time to review it now. 🙂

OK, let’s start! Kenzo Ice is a limited edition summer fragrance from a few years ago.

It contains the following notes: mint, ginger and lemon (top notes), freesia (heart note), and vetiver, vanilla and ambrette (base notes).

Kenzo Ice has an overall cold and fresh feel to it. It smells like cool mint with a drop of lemon juice. The mint note is very longlasting – and the fragrance doesn’t really develop. So Kenzo Ice is basically all about cool mint and lemons.

Even though this fragrance is for women (there’s a separate edition for men), it doesn’t smell very womanly at all. I think Kenzo Ice is a unisex fragrance – but it’s more on the masculine side.

Whilst Kenzo Ice isn’t very special, I think it’s a decent fragrance for hot summer days. If you’re interested in Kenzo Ice, you should check if you can find it online. Since it was discontinued a while ago, you won’t find it in brick and mortar stores.

Thierry Mugler Cologne

Hi there! Today’s review is about Thierry Mugler’s Cologne (which I have several samples of). And in the spirit of using my samples, I’ve now been wearing this fragrance for a few days.

OK, before we start, Mugler Cologne contains the following notes: bergamot, neroli, petitgrain, orange blossom, ‘S’ molecule and white musk. There’s a question mark behind the ‘S’ molecule – apparently it’s a super secret fragrant molecule.
Thierry Mugler Mugler Cologne
Mugler Cologne is all about bergamots and orange flowers. It’s a classic (some would say old-fashioned) cologne scent. It’s not the most original fragrance, but it’s well done. It’s pure, fresh and clean – definitely a good choice for spring and summer – and I think it’s perfectly unisex.

If you love the scent of classic colognes and bergamots, you’d probably like Mugler Cologne which is available as 100ml for around £30.
