Hi there! Today’s post is about Superdrug’s Optimum Skin Illuminating Glycolic Overnight Peel. This product promises to refine, firm and plump the skin, to make fine lines and wrinkles appear smoother, and to enhance and improve the natural skin tone for a radiant and more youthful looking complexion.
All you have to do is apply a small amount of product to your face before you go to bed, and wash it off the next morning. I’ve been using this product at least 4 – 5 times a week since October, so let me tell you more about it. 🙂
I really like this product! The gel texture is nice and easy to use. It feels a little sticky on the face, but I’m OK with that. I also think that this glycolic peel is effective because it makes my skin look more relaxed and more refreshed. Nice!
But the big question is… is this glycolic overnight peel better than Superdrug’s other glycolic overnight peel? I would say… no! I think they’re equally good. This one looks fancier, but the other glycolic peel is a lot cheaper. So whilst I really like this product, I think I’ll continue to buy the cheaper one because it gives me the same results.
Superdrug’s Optimum Skin Illuminating Glycolic Overnight Peel is available as 30ml for £12.99. I paid £6.45 (half price offer). This product carries the Leaping Bunny logo which means that it’s cruelty-free. In addition, this product is also vegan.
Mrs Strawberry Blonde
Hi there! Over the past few months I’ve been using several product from Superdrug’s Naturally Radiant product line. The face mask is the best thing since sliced bread, and I love the night cream and the micro polish scrub.
Now, today’s post is about Superdrug’s Naturally Radiant Glycolic Overnight Peel. Like all other products in the Naturally Radiant range this peel contains kiwi fruit and mulberry extratcs, and glycolic acid and fruit acids which are said to retexture and refine skin, and to even out and brighten skin tone. Now let me tell you how this product works.
What you’re supposed to do is… apply a pea-sized amount of product to your cleansed face before you go to bed. And just wash it off in the morning. That’s it.
What’s good about the peel? First of all, the gel formula is very nice and easy to work with. The gel feels great on my skin. It’s not drying at all (it’s a tad sticky though) and it makes my skin feel refreshed. This glycolic peel doesn’t really peel (you won’t see any old skin flaking off), but I can see and feel the difference. I never thought I’d say this but – thanks to this product – my face looks almost refreshed in the morning.
I really love this peel – and I’ve already bought a back-up. I would recommend it to everyone – even to those with sensitive skin – because this glycolic peel does the job without being harsh. The only thing I need to mention as a bit of a negative is that there’s no indication of how often this peel is supposed to be used. It’s not stated anywhere on the product or Superdrug’s web site. So you might want to use it daily, weekly or anything in between. I use the peel 2 to 3 times per week, most of the time under the Naturally Radiant night cream, and this works well for me.
Superdrug’s Naturally Radiant Glycolic Overnight Peel is available as 30ml for £5.99. I bought mine for £2.95 (half price deal). The last time I checked (last week) there was a BOGOF offer, so don’t forget to check for promotional deals before you buy.
Mrs Strawberry Blonde
Hi there! Since it’s end the of August, it’s time for my monthly favourites post – aka Mrs Strawberry Blonde’s August Beauty Awards. 🙂 I’m also making one change to my monthly favourites. From now on I’ll be choosing my favourites from all the products I’ve written about during the month.
This way I don’t have to keep track of what’s really new in my stash and when I’ve used what. I think it’ll also make more sense with products I’ve been using for longer – i.e. I like to use certain products for a few weeks to see if and how they work, and then I write about them.
OK, that’s sorted then. 🙂 And now, let’s get to my monthly favourites!
3rd place – Superdrug Clearly Youthful Hydrating Day Serum
Even though the serum has its flaws, I’m happy with the results it helped me achieve. I will definitely continue to use it and I will – without doubt – repurchase it. It will become a beauty staple!
Runner-Up – Superdrug Clearly Youthful Retexturising Glycolic Peel Off Mask
I cannot recommend this face mask enough. Within only a few weeks this face mask made a huge difference to my skin’s overall appearance. I’ll definitely continue to use it. And as soon as there’s another half price or BOGOF offer, I’ll stock up!
WINNER – Herbal Essences Shimmering Colour & Sensuously Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner
I cannot praise the original Herbal Essences collection enough. It’s bottled magic. It’s a shame the relaunched Rainforest Flowers collection has been discontinued again. 😦 I do have a few shampoos and conditioners left (needless to say I stocked up in time), but one sad day they’ll be gone… So if you see any of these Rainforest Flowers products in a bargain store near you, just buy them! You won’t regret it.
Now to the honourable mentions! Other products which I’ve enjoyed (and which I’ll continue to enjoy) big time are Original Source’s Liquorice and Mango & Macadamia shower products and Garnier’s Peach Body Lotion.
What are your favourite products this month? Have you used any of the products I’ve used? Feel free to get in touch. And thanks for reading!

Hi there! Today’s post is about another Superdrug product – Superdrug’s Clearly Youthful Retexturising Glycolic Peel Off Mask. I think this product is absolutely amazing! And I only paid £2.39 (offer). Now let me tell you why I love it so much!
This mask works like a typical peel off mask. You apply it to your face and you leave it alone and let it dry for about 15 minutes – or until it’s completely dry. Then you just peel it off and you remove any residue with warm water. Superdrug recommends this mask be used twice weekly for four weeks – just not on two consecutive days.
What is this mask actually good for? It’s aimed at women who want an anti-ageing product that also helps with skin impurities. In summary, this mask promises to even out skin tone, to refine pores and to reduce breakouts with the help of several active ingredients, namely salicylic acid, lactic acid, glycolic acid, phytoprotein, ployglycan and cimicifuga. Sounds great, doesn’t it? 🙂 Read on, and I’ll tell you about my experience with this product.
When I tried the mask for the first time, I didn’t use enough product. So I couldn’t peel it off in one piece. I had to peel it off in several pieces, and I had to remove a lot of product residue with water. However, the mask still worked like a charm. As soon as I had washed my face, I noticed that my pores looked considerably smaller, my skin surface appeared to be a lot (!) more even, and my skin looked clearer and brighter. Wow!
Since I’m also using Superdrug’s fantastic Naturally Radiant Brightening Renewal Face Mask every Saturday, I’m actually used to my skin tone looking brighter and more even every week. But it’s great that this glycolic peel off mask has a similar effect. 🙂
I’ve now used this mask twice a week for three weeks and I’ll definitely continue to use it because it made a huge difference to the appearance of my skin. Whilst the instructions don’t state what you’re supposed to do after the four-week course, I think I’ll see how I get along using the mask once every week.
I wouldn’t hesitate recommending this face mask. If you consider your skin to be ‘problem skin’, you should try this mask. The 50ml tube is usually £4.89 – which is great value. But Superdrug runs BOGOF and half price promotions frequently, so you can bag even better bargains. And don’t forget that this face mask is suitable for vegans and it’s 100% cruelty-free – it’s BUAV-approved and it carries the Leaping Bunny logo.
