Vegan & Cruelty-Free – Superdrug Intensive Moisture Hand Cream and Hand Rescue Balm

Hi there! I spotted these relatively new hand creams at my local Superdrug store. They were 99p each (they’re usually £1.49 each), and they went straight in my basket! 🙂 I’ve been using these quite a lot over the past few weeks. And now meet Superdrug Intensive Moisture Hand Cream and Superdrug Hand Rescue Balm.
SD Hand Cream
Superdrug Intensive Moisture Hand Cream is a decent hand cream. It moisturises my hands nicely and it makes my skin feel softer and more elastic. However, this ‘effect’ is only superficial and I need to keep moisturising, otherwise my hands will return to their very dry state in under a day.

Superdrug Hand Rescue Balm is decent as well. I didn’t think it would be – because when I used it for the first time, it didn’t feel as rich as most other hand creams. But I noticed the difference this hand cream made after washing my hands for a few times. I’m not sure how it works, but it feels like it’s doing something from underneath the skin surface. But just like the other hand cream, I need to keep using it a few times each day for maintenance, otherwise it’s game over again for my hands.

In summary, these hand creams are quite alright. But they’re not very special. They can’t compete with Dove’s lovely hand cream, or with Baylis & Harding’s wonderful hand lotion. I think I should also mention that Superdrug’s hand creams don’t smell that great. They don’t stink, but their scent is quite plasticky.

The good stuff: Just like the other Superdrug beauty products, these hand creams carry the Leaping Bunny logo. They’re cruelty-free and suitable for vegans!

Kirstie Allsopp Lansdowne Rose Shower Gel, Hand Soap & Hand Lotion

Hi there! My local Home Bargains store is now stocking Kirstie Allsopp products for only £1.99 each (they’re about £8 each at Waitrose). So I got myself three 400ml rose-scented products. Meet Kirstie Allsopp Lansdowne Rose Shower Gel, Hand Soap and Hand Lotion.

I like that the shower gel and the hand soap aren’t drying at all. And the hand lotion is non-sticky and fast-absorbing – and it makes my hands feel moisturised and soft. I like!

Now let’s get to the fragrance! I think this Lansdowne Rose fragrance is very nice. Most of the time I find rosey scents a bit annoying. I think they’re usually not very well done – or they smell a bit sweaty. But this rose fragrance is absolutely perfect. It’s clean, clear, feminine and it’s very ‘Turkish delight’. Very nice!

I also love the cute bottle designs. And I think these products would look great in a home-made gift box or hamper. If you’d like to try Kirstie Allsopp products for less than their RRP, you should swing by your local bargain stores. Good luck!

The Ultimate £1 Stocking Filler – Leafy & Lovely Summer Meadow Hand Lotion

Hi there! About two weeks ago I checked out Superdrug’s Christmas offerings and bought quite a few bits for myself. One of these items was this cute Leafy & Lovely Summer Meadow Hand Lotion. I loved the pretty packaging and the price, so I bought it.

When I opened the box I was really pleased to find this pretty tube inside. It reminded me of expensive hand creams from L’Occitane or Roger & Gallet. So yes, I love it when cheap hand creams come in tubes because it makes them appear a lot more luxurious than they actually are.

This hand lotion is quite light, it feels silky, and it’s non-sticky. The scent is very lovely and the name Summer Meadow fits perfectly. I think it smells like the air on a warm spring day in the countryside. The scent is a bit unusual for this time of the year (keep in mind, this is one of Superdrug’s Christmas offerings), but it’s really, really nice.

This 60ml Leafy & Lovely Summer Meadow Hand Lotion would be a great stocking filler (or just a little treat). At the moment it’s £1 only – which is excellent value – so grab it while you can!

Instant Relief from Dry Hands – Dove Intensive Nourishing Hand Cream

Dove HandcreamHi there! I was desperate for hand cream the other day (I know, how can anyone run out of hand cream?!) so I was really happy to find this Dove Intensive Nourishing Hand Cream for 42p (!) on my local drugstore’s bargain shelf.

Let me tell you right away that this hand cream is absolutely amazing. The scent is warm, feminine, floral and a tad soapy – I love it!

I also love that this cream moisturises my hands (and my elbows) nicely – it feels a bit greasy for a minute or two, but after that it’s fine.

Call me crazy, but I think that this hand cream actually makes my hands look younger! I didn’t take before and after photos, so I can’t really compare, but I go with my gut feeling here. 🙂

I’m not sure if Dove’s Intensive Nourishing Hand Cream is about to be discontinued (I would be a bit sad), but if it makes an appearance at any of the Poundstores, I’ll stock up.

Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Day Hand Cream

No7 Hand creamHi there! Today’s post is about Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Day Hand Cream.

Let me be honest, I don’t use hand creams very often. Most of the time I just use body lotion or body butter – whatever I can find. However, I’m glad that I tried this product.

Boots’ No 7 hand cream is quite a gem. It contains SPF 15 which helps protect my hands from the sun so I won’t be getting any more sun spots on my hands.

I really love the thick formula because it provides lots of moisture without being greasy. I’ve been using this hand cream once a day for just over a week now and I’m very happy with how soft my hands are.

I also think that my hands look younger. Unfortunately I didn’t take pictures last week so I can’t really compare, but I swear my hands look younger.

Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Day Hand Cream is quite expensive (£10.50 for a 75ml tube), but looking at the almost instant results, I think it’s definitely worth the money.

I would recommend this hand cream and I can certainly see myself buying it on a regular basis. Well done, Boots!
