Nail Of The Day – Essie Smooth Sailing, Technic Double Trouble Bollywood & Stamping With JQ-L12

Hi there! Happy Monday! Today’s post is about a mani I did just last week.

For this mani I painted my nails with Essie Smooth Sailing (2 coats, pinkies, ring fingers) and Technic Double Trouble Bollywood (2 coats, middle and index fingers, thumbs).

I used the gold glitter top coat from the double-ended Technic Double Trouble Bollywood to add some sparkle to the blue nails.

For the images on the minty nails I used my JQ-L12 stamping plate and a random black polish.

I didn’t like this mani because the stamped images didn’t look right. Ah well, onto the next mani!

Nail Of The Day – Barry M Waikiki & Stamping With JQ-L18

Hi there! After yesterday’s hair care post I have a Nail Of The Day post for you today.

For this mani I painted my nails with Barry M Waikiki (2 coats).

This is a matte polish. Since I’m not a big fan of matte nail colours, I applied 1 coat of clear polish to make the mani glossy and shiny. Much better! 🙂

I decided to stamp… and I used my JQ-L18 stamping plate. I opted for a few different images, and I liked how the mani turned out.

The black polish I stamped with is the wonderful Revlon Colorstay 270 Stiletto.

Do you like green nails? Do you prefer matte or glossy nail colours? Do you stamp? Feel free to get in touch. And thanks for stopping by!

Nail Of The Day – Bourjois So Lacque 39 Jaune Trendy & Stamping With JQ-L02

Bourjois Jaune Trendy StampingHi there! Today’s post is another nail post. I don’t wear yellow nail polish very often. But I’ve got dozens of yellow polishes. And since it’s still summer, I thought now’s the time for a yellow mani.

You may notice that my nails are considerably shorter than last week. Nope, no nail accident this time. (Yay!) They just got too long so I filed them down again.

Now back to the mani! I painted my nails with Bourjois So Lacque 39 Jaune Trendy (two coats).

The stamping plate I chose was JQ-L02. This is one of my stamping plates that feature smaller (but beautiful!) images only – so I can only use these plates when my nails are relatively short.

I don’t remember which black polish I used to stamp on the images. And I also don’t remember how I managed to put a dent in the middle finger, but in real life it was barely noticeable.

All in all, I think the mani turned out alright. I think the yellow polish is quite ugly on its own, but it’s a wonderful base colour for stamping. Actually, I have an idea for an awesome mani that requires a yellow base. If I manage to pull it off, you’ll read it here first. 🙂

Nail Of The Day – Rimmel I ♥ Lasting Finish 080 Black Cab, Andrea Fulerton Nail Boutique Kate, Barry M Masquerade & Stamping With JQ-L04

Rimmel Black Cab Andrea Fulerton Kate JQ-L02, Essence Stampy Polish White Barry M MasqueradeHi there! After a few recent nail fails I seem to have found my mani mojo again. 🙂 So today’s post is about a recent mani I really, really liked.

As usual, I didn’t know what to do with my nails. So I started with two base colours – Andrea Fulerton Nail Boutique Kate (pinky, index finger) and Rimmel I ♥ Lasting Finish 080 Black Cab (ring finger, middle finger, thumb).

I wanted to stamp. So I selected a few pretty images from my JQ-L04 stamping plate. And I stamped on the images with Essence’s Nail Art Stampy Polish in white.

But I also wanted some sparkle. And I opted for Barry M‘s Masquerade (gold, fuchsia and light blue glitter in a clear base).

I’m very pleased with how the mani turned out. It’s got a butterfly and floral images, glitter, purple and black & white. What’s not to love? 🙂 Please feel free to let me know what you think about this mani. And thank you for stopping by!

Nail Of The Day – Cutex Quick ‘N Go 410 Quick Set Coral & Stamping With JQ-L02 (Partial Nail Fail)

Cutex 410 Quick Set Coral StampingHi there! Today’s NOTD is about a recent nail fail. I didn’t like the polish and I also didn’t like the stamped images, so I didn’t even bother cleaning up around my nails properly.

However, since I’d taken a picture, I thought I might as well just share this nail misadventure with you. 🙂

I painted my nails with two thin coats of Cutex Quick ‘N Go 410 Quick Set Coral. The polish was almost opaque in one coat – but just almost.

The polish claims to dry in 45 seconds. Of course there is no polish that dries in such a short time. But I didn’t expect this polish to take ages to dry. It took, in fact, about 25 minutes (per coat) for the polish to dry. That was quite disappointing.

Anyway, I then decided to stamp. I chose my JQ-L02 stamping plate which features several designs. The images look amazing on the stamping plate, but unfortunately I didn’t manage to transfer their amazingness onto my nails. That is, of course, my fault.

So… the leafy image didn’t come out right on the pinky. The images on the ring finger and the middle finger came out wonky. And the image on the index finger is just… I don’t know… it doesn’t look right.

Just in case you’re wondering, the black polish I used to stamp on the images was Maybelline MNY 677. Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate it.
