Rimmel Colour Show Off Lipsticks 130 Love Me, 250 Stare At Me, 260 I Want You

Hi there! Today’s post is about 3 lipsticks I’ve been wearing on and off for a few weeks – Rimmel Colour Show Off Lipsticks in 130 Love Me, 250 Stare At Me, and 260 I Want You.

First up is Rimmel Colour Show Off Lipstick 130 Love Me which is a creamy raspberry kind of shade. The lipstick is highly pigmented, and it stays on for hours, but the colour isn’t right for me, so I will let this one go.

Rimmel Colour Show Off Lipstick 250 Stare At Me is my favourite of the 3. It’s a creamy brown-tinted red. It looks like the natural colour of my lips – just 2 shades darker. I love this one, and I will keep it!

Rimmel Colour Show Off Lipstick 260 I Want You should have been a favourite, but this shade of brown is way too dark for me. I’m a pale girl, and a lipstick this dark makes me look ill. I will have to let this one go.

I’m happy that I will keep one of these lippies, but I don’t mind letting the others go. I’m having a major clearout – which will go on for a little while. On a positive note, I’ve already chucked 50+ (overdue) items, and there will be more.

By the way, you can now recycle empty make-up packaging through TerraCycle. If you don’t like a lipstick or an eye palette, just remove the actual product and take the packaging to your nearest participating store (Boots, Superdrug, etc.). TerraCycle will then take care of taking apart your old compacts (or whatever) and recycle the individual components! 😍

MUA MakeUp Academy Matte Lipstick Fawn Fancy, NYC Color Instinct Eyeshadow Palette 969 Rooftop Cocktails

Hi there! Today’s post is about a lipstick and a small eyeshadow palette. And I’m starting with this MUA MakeUp Academy Matte Lipstick in the shade Fawn Fancy which was £1.

This lipstick is awful. The shade is nice, but the lipstick is waxy, strangely dry and impossible to apply. It broke off the first time I used it. Not a surprise – I tried a few lipsticks from this line before, and I remember that this happened with at least 2 of them. I don’t think I’ll ever buy a matte lipstick from MUA again. Having said this, their creamy lipsticks (which are also £1 only) are lovely!

Onto this NYC Color Instinct Eyeshadow Palette 969 Rooftop Cocktails which was 99p at Fragrance Direct.

This is a small eye palette that contains 4 eyeshadows – a dusty lavender, a light blue, a light green, and a pale champagne highlighter shade.

I bought this palette a while ago, but I never used it until I gave it a try a few weeks ago. The dusty lavender shade is nice, but it’s poorly pigmented. And I didn’t care for the other 3 shades.

Since I have no use for this palette, it’ll be the latest victim of my 6 months early spring declutter.

Have you tried these products? Which products did you get rid of recently? Feel free to get in touch, and thanks for reading! 😊

Astor Rouge Couture Lipstick 112 Lilac Tulle, 114 Aubergine Veil, 208 Red Vinyl

Hi there! Today’s post is about 3 lipsticks I used to love. I’m letting them go because I stopped wearing them some time ago, and now they’re simply too old to be used anymore. But since I loved them, here they are:

Astor Rouge Couture Lipstick 112 Lilac Tulle is a cute pink with a bit of shimmer. It’s a great shade for pale skin tones. Whilst I prefer brownish lipsticks, I liked this pink lipstick a lot!

Astor Rouge Couture Lipstick 114 Aubergine Veil is a powerful burgundy shade. I think this lipstick suited me quite well. However, I think this one would have suited someone with a darker skin tone even more.

Astor Rouge Couture Lipstick 208 Red Vinyl is a black cherry kind of shade. This is another shade that I think would have been more suitable for someone with a darker skin tone, but I think I wore Red Vinyl well too. And I’m glad I managed to dig up an old photo of me wearing it.

I really loved those lipsticks. The quality was outstanding, and they had the most amazing raspberry flavour. I’ll miss them!

L’Oréal Color Riche 231 Sepia / Silk

Hi there! Today’s post is about a lipstick I’ve been using for a few weeks now – L’Oréal Color Riche 231 Sepia / Silk. This is a brownish nude shade with a shiny finish. I bought this lipstick because it looked like a creamy medium brown (which happens to be my favourite lipstick shade), so it wasn’t what I wanted and expected.

Having said that, I do like this lipstick. It’s wonderfully creamy and hydrating, but it doesn’t slip or bleed into my foundation. I really like that! I also like how cheap it was – it was £2.99 (clearance).

Based on my experience, I’d recommend this lipstick. I’m also curious about L’Oréal’s current lipstick collection!

MakeUp Revolution London Rebel With Cause Lipstick

Hi there! Happy Friday! Today’s post is about this MakeUp Revolution London Rebel With Cause Lipstick. This lipstick is from MUR’s cheapest lipstick collection. So whilst I was keen to try the lipstick, I didn’t expect much from it.

When you look at the lipstick itself (= the colour in the lid), you’d expect a deep, dark wine shade. However, the lipstick is more of a fuchsia shade.

Also – the colour is a bit patchy and I’ve noticed that, due to the very creamy formula, it bleeds into my foundation. This isn’t acceptable. But here’s the worst bit: This lipstick stains badly. I even tried a body scrub to get rid of it (after everything else failed) but I can still see the ugly pale pink residue it left on my lips.

I have binned this lipstick. However, if you’re interested MakeUp Revolution London Rebel With Cause Lipstick is available for £1.

MUA MakeUp Academy Lipsticks Shade 1, Shade 2

Hi there! Today’s post is about 2 lip products – MUA MakeUp Academy Lipstick Shade 1 and MUA MakeUp Academy Lipstick Shade 2. Yes, I’m wearing lipstick in lockdown! And I still follow my usual morning routine – I brush my teeth, I shower and wash my hair, I use my skin care products (face and body) the same way as always, I put on nice clothes – usually a dress, and then I put on some lipstick. I don’t do a full face of make-up though – I think that would be too much! Alrighty, onto the lipsticks!

MUA MakeUp Academy Lipstick Shade 1 is a deep, dark red shade. It’s not the most flattering colour for pale ladies like myself. I think this lipstick would look much nicer on ladies with darker skin tones. This lipstick is highly pigmented, and I do like its creamy formula. However, because of the creamy formula, the lipstick will smudge and come off easily.

MUA MakeUp Academy Lipstick Shade 2 is a cool fuchsia shade that bursts with colour. This one works better with my pale skin, but I also think this shade would look better on ladies with darker skin tones. The formula is rich and creamy too, so this one is just as prone to smudging or coming off as the red lipstick.

All in all, I would recommend these lipsticks – but only if you don’t drink or snack all the time. 😉 MUA MakeUp Academy Lipstick Shade 1 and MUA MakeUp Academy Lipstick Shade 2 are £1 each.

Miss Sporty Lipliners – 007 Slow, 013 Coconut, 014 Earth

Hi there! Today’s post is about 3 Miss Sporty lipliners that I picked up recently (for £1 each) – the shades are (from top to bottom) 007 Slow, 013 Coconut, and 014 Earth. I haven’t seen Miss Sporty products at Boots or Superdrug for a while. I think it’s safe to say the brand will disappear once and for all as soon as the end-of-line discount stores will have sold their stock.

However, since Poundland (this is where I bought these lipliners) and other brick-and-mortar and online stores are still selling Miss Sporty products, I thought I’d do a quick review in case someone’s wondering whether they’re worth picking up. 😊

I’ve been using these lipliners for a few weeks now, and I think they’re really nice. These lipliners are highly pigmented, they’re soft, and they can even be worn as matte lipsticks! I’ve also noticed they look great with gloss on top! What else? These lipliners stay on. They don’t slip. And I like the colours I picked up because these nude-to-brown shades look great on me (I have pale skin, green eyes and ginger hair).

All in all, I’m happy I bought these lipliners, and I enjoy using them. But I’m equally sad because they’ve been discontinued. If you see these lipliners at your local discount store and wonder whether they’re any good – yes, they are!

UNE Casual Matt Colour Rouge Demi-Mat Lipstick M08

Hi there! Today’s post is about the lipstick I’ve been wearing on and off for the past 2-3 months – UNE Casual Matt Colour Rouge Demi-Mat Lipstick M08. UNE is (or was) an all natural brand which, unfortunately, has been discontinued. However, thanks to bargain stores and online shops, there are plenty of UNE products waiting to be picked up. Alrighty, onto the review!

I love this lipstick! The formula is absolutely perfect. I’ve tried terribly waxy matte lipsticks (MUA), and I’ve also had dry af matte lip products (Manhattan), but UNE’s lipstick formula is simply perfect. It feels like velvet, it doesn’t settle in the fine lines, it’s just perfect and I love it!

The colour is simply wonderful too. It’s a gorgeous rosey-nude that suits me very well. I usually prefer brownish-nude lipsticks, but this colour is just stunningly beautiful, so how could I not love it?!

UNE Casual Matt Colour Rouge Demi-Mat Lipstick M08 and other UNE products are only available through online bargain stores. I would definitely recommend you try at least 1 UNE product. 😘

Astor Soft Sensation Lipstick 114

Hi there! Today’s short post is about Astor‘s Soft Sensation Lipstick. The shade I’m wearing is 114. I think this is a lovely shade for this time of year. It’s a soft berry to plum shade that suits a lot of skin tones. I love this shade because it looks good with my pale skin. Many darker berry or plum shades give me an unwanted gothic look, so this kind of shade is just right for me. 🙂

I’m also in love with the formula. This is a super creamy lipstick that feels lovely on my lips. Whilst this lipstick doesn’t survive a meal, it lasts well if I don’t drink or snack every couple of minutes. And it lasts pretty much all day if I seal it with a lipliner (yes, a plain and simple lip liner). All in all, I’m very happy that I picked up this pretty lipstick for £1 at one of the bargain stores!

The Best 50p I Ever Spent – Manhattan Tasty Lips Lipgloss American Grapefruit

Hi there! Today’s post is a short one. And it’s about this clear Manhattan Tasty Lips Lipgloss with American Grapefruit flavour. This lipgloss was part of a £1 Manhattan Cosmetics duo pack (lipgloss + eyeshadow duo) at Bargain Buys!

I already lost the eyeshadow duo – well, it’s somewhere in my stash – I just have no idea where it could be. 🙂 But let’s focus on the lipgloss…

I think this lipgloss is fantastic! The gloss is clear, there’s no sparkle (Yay!), it’s very hydrating but it doesn’t feel too sticky. And the grapefruit flavour is… the ultimate yummy grapefruit flavour! It’s perfect. It’s dreamy. I love it! I will have to go back to Bargain Buys to see if I can find more. Wish me luck, OK? 🙂

Have you tried this lipgloss? Feel free to comment. And thanks for reading!
