Max Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless Flexi-Hold 3 In 1 Foundation 30 Porcelain

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Max Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless Flexi-Hold 3 In 1 Foundation 30 Porcelain which I’ve been using on and off for a few months now. This product is a 3 in 1 = primer, concealer and foundation. It promises a flawless, shine-proof and matte finish that lasts all day and buildable medium to full coverage. This foundation is non-comedogenic, and it has SPF 20!

I have very dry skin, and based on the description, this isn’t the most suitable foundation for me. I’m glad I didn’t know much about the foundation before I bought it, otherwise I would have given it a pass. But I’m happy that I discovered it and made it work for me! And here’s why I love this foundation:

It’s a perfect match for my face. With most foundations I’ve tried, the lightest shade is often 1-3 nuances too dark for me, so I was over the moon to find the perfect shade. The foundation is liquid – which isn’t my favourite formula, but it can be applied easily with clean hands. I tried a make-up sponge and a foundation brush, but these methods aren’t the best. In terms of coverage, one and a half pump is the perfect amount of foundation that I need for flawless, full coverage. The foundation is best applied quickly.

I’ve noticed that this foundation doesn’t play well with every serum or face cream. Some products make the foundation ball up, others make it impossible to even apply the foundation. What works for me is face mist + oil serum + rich moisturiser. When I apply the foundation on top of the perfect base, it gives me a flawless finish that really lasts all day. One thing though: If you’re like me and you have very dry skin, you need to get on top of your dry patches first as this foundation is not very forgiving.

All in all, I love this foundation! I found the right products to make it work for me, and I love how it makes my face look and feel. Once I run out of Pan Stiks, this will be my new go-to foundation (unless Max Factor ruins this formula too).

Max Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless Flexi-Hold 3 In 1 Foundation 30 Porcelain is available as 30ml for about £13.99 (although Boots and Superdrug often do 3 for 2). I bought 2 bottles for £4.99 each at B&M Bargains!

Max Factor Wild Shadow Pots 20 Golden Amazon, 75 Smouldering Red, 80 Passionate Violet, Essence Blush Up! 10 Heat Wave, NYC New York Color HD Color Trio Eyeshadow 002 Feelin’ Fab, Superdrug B. Vivid Eyeshadow 172 Neptune, 058 Filigree, 139 Regalia

Hi there! Today’s post is about a number of eye and cheek products I’m using at the moment. I don’t want to do a big intro today, so let’s start with the first 3 products – Max Factor Wild Shadow Pots. The shades are 20 Golden Amazon, 75 Smouldering Red and 80 Passionate Violet.

I like these 3 eyeshadows a lot, and I’m glad I was able to pick them up for £1 each (Poundland). I’m very happy with the quality of these eyeshadows!

And here are the swatches! 20 Golden Amazon is a bright shimmery gold, 75 Smouldering Red is a cute rosey shade with a light shimmer, and 80 Passionate Violet is a very sparkly violet shade with wannabe-holographic hues.

Up next is a beautiful blush – Essence Blush Up! 10 Heat Wave! This is a powder blush that I’ve had for a while, but I only started to use it recently.

The blush looks pretty, and the quality is fantastic too. The blush is easy to blend, and it’s highly pigmented, so a little goes a long way.  And I love the coral-to-raspberry shade(s).

I tried to capture the beautiful gradient in my swatch. It wasn’t easy, and I could have done better, but I think I did just well enough. It’s a powder blush after all!

And I started to use one of the cheap NYC compacts I found at Poundland. This one’s NYC New York Color HD Color Trio Eyeshadow 002 Feelin’ Fab.

The trio contains 3 eyeshadows – a glittery silver shade which isn’t for everyday wear, a soft shimmery bronze which is very pretty and lovely to wear, and a blue-to-violet shade which, to be perfectly honest, was disappointing because it’s poorly pigmented. By the time this post is published, this eyeshadow will have been repurposed (mixed with a blue nail polish to make stamping polish).

And there are 3 more single eyeshadows – Superdrug B. Vivid Eyeshadow 172 Neptune, 058 Filigree and 139 Regalia.

I purchased these eyeshadows when they were 10p each (clearance), and I actually bought 3 of each colour – that’s 9 single eyeshadows for 90p in total! 🤪

172 Neptune is a shimmery royal blue shade, 058 Filigree is a beautiful golden olive shimmer and 139 Regalia is a matte purple eyeshadow. Unfortunately, Regalia is quite a stinker. It doesn’t stick to anything, and it cannot be used as an eyeshadow at all. This is another product which, by the time you read this post, will have found a new life as a stamping polish!

And this is it for today! I enjoyed reviewing a number of products in 1 post. I hope you like the format too, because I will continue to do this for products like eyeshadows, blushes, lip balms and the likes.

Have you tried any of these products? Or would you like to try them? Feel free to comment, and thanks for reading!

Nail Of The Day – Max Factor Glossfinity 95 Flaming Pink & Stamping (Nail Fail)

Hi there! Today’s post is about a mani I did a few weeks ago. I didn’t really like how the mani turned out, but I had to do a quick mani that day, so I just grabbed a polish and a couple of stamping plates…

So, for this mani I painted my nails with Max Factor Glossfinity 95 Flaming Pink (1 coat). I usually do 2 coats, but I thought that I could just about get away with 1 coat (+ 1 coat of clear polish). 🙂

I used 2 stamping plates – JQ-L02 and JQ-L19. A few years ago, I bought these cheap stamping plates via ebay. I haven’t used them much, but I’ve given them another try (or rather a second chance) just recently. And I realised that I actually like them!

So whilst I didn’t like this mani, I’m looking forward to using these stamping plates again!

Nail Of The Day – Galaxy Nails Feat. Rimmel, Sally Hansen, Max Factor, Primark & Essence

Hi there! I’ve got a Nail Of The Day post for you today!

Alrighty, for this mani I painted my nails with Rimmel 60 Seconds Hot Black To Go (2 coats, but 1 would have been enough).

Then I used a small piece of a make-up sponge to apply white blobs (Primark PS Nail Polish Marshmallow) to my nails.

I repeated the process with 2 random colour polishes – Essence Colour & Go 06 Instant Happiness and Max Factor Glossfinity 95 Flaming Pink.

The glitter top coat I used is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear 235 Supernova which is not just my favourite glitter top coat, but most likely also the most beautiful and the most versatile glitter top coat in the history of the planet.

I really liked this mani. It was inspited by boredom, but it turned out to be quite cool. Have you tried galaxy nails? If not, why not? Would you like to try galaxy nails? Feel free to get in touch via the comments. And thanks for reading!

Nail Of The Day – Rimmel Lycra Pro 311 Spring Yellow, Max Factor Glossfinity 95 Flaming Pink, Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro 370 Wild Orchid & Stamping With Pueen 74

Hi there! Nail Week continues, so I have another short Nail Of The Day post for you today. 🙂

For this mani I painted my nails with Rimmel Lycra Pro 311 Spring Yellow (2 coats). This isn’t the greatest yellow nail polish because it’s quite thin.

I know from experience that, with this polish, 4 coats aren’t enough for an opaque finish. So this time I thought I’d do some easy nail art.

I used a small piece of a make-up sponge to apply random blobs of colour polish. I used Max Factor Glossfinity 95 Flaming Pink and Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro 370 Wild Orchid.

Then I used Pueen‘s 74 plate (which is part of Pueen‘s Buffet Leisure stamping plate collection) and a home-made black “stamping” polish for the images.

I really liked this mani. It was happy and cololurful and definitely something else! Do you like yellow nail polish? Feel free to comment. And thanks for reading!

Nail Of The Day – Max Factor Glossfinity 95 Flaming Pink, Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro 370 Wild Orchid & Stamping With Pueen 51

Hi there! Let me show you a mani I did not too long ago!

For this mani I painted my nails with Max Factor Glossfinity 95 Flaming Pink (2 coats). This is a lovely polish. Great colour, quick-dry and easy to work with formula, lovely glossy finish… truly great stuff. Thank you, Max Factor!

I used a small piece of a make-up sponge to apply a few blobs of purple polish (Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro 370 Wild Orchid).

For the images I used Pueen‘s 51 stamping plate (which is part of Pueen‘s Stamping Buffet collection) and a black “stamping” polish I made from black polish and black eyeshadow. 🙂

I liked this mani. It didn’t look perfect, but I really liked the bright and optimistic look of it. What colour nail polish are you wearing at the moment? Feel free to comment, and thanks for reading!

Max Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless 3 in 1 Foundation Natural 50

Hi there! Today’s post is about Max Factor’s Face Finity All Day Flawless 3 In 1 Foundation which I had a sample of. The shade I tried was Natural 50.

OK, so what does the product do? In a nutshell, this foundation promises to prime, conceal and cover (this is the 3 in 1 bit). And it claims to provide longlasting and flawless coverage. Read on if you’d like to know if it’s any good.

Max Factor Face Finity is a liquid foundation. I’m not the biggest fan of liquid foundations, but this one was quick and easy to apply. The shade Natural 50 was a bit too dark for me, but it wasn’t too bad. It was in the “still OK” range. 🙂

I was very impressed with the way the foundation looked on me because it gave me pretty much full coverage. Despite this, the foundation didn’t look cakey or unnatural, and it didn’t settle into my fine lines. So yeah, I think the finish was almost flawless!

I checked my face numerous times throughout the day, and I’m happy to report that the foundation stayed put. I wore it for 12 hours, and I really liked it!

To make a long story short – I was impressed with this foundation. I know I will buy a full-size bottle in the not too distant future. I would, however, choose a lighter shade.

Max Factor’s Face Finity All Day Flawless 3 In 1 Foundation is available as 30ml for £12.99.

Empties – February 2017

Hi there! It’s the 1st of the month – so it’s time for last month’s empties. In February I threw out a konjac sponge and a nail buffer, and I used several face masks. I didn’t keep the beaten-up beauty tools or the empty face mask sachets – this kind of stuff gets thrown in the bin right away. Now, let’s get to the ‘real’ empties!
empties-022017-1
1 Laura Biagiotti Venezia – I can’t believe it’s gone! Venezia is one of the most gorgeous fragrances from the 90s. It’s strong, powerful, warm, sensual and multi-dimensional. I’m sad I can’t repurchase it, but I’m glad that it didn’t turn whilst it’s been sitting in my stash for all those years. To sum it up – I’m happy that I had the chance to enjoy this fragrance!

2 Boots Extracts Luscious Vanilla Body Spray – this body spray smells exactly like the one and only Boots Extracts Vanilla Body Butter. So yes, this body spray smells wonderful! I’ll review this one properly – very soon! Oh, and I have two back-up bottles – another small 70ml bottle and a full-size 150ml bottle.

3 Dolly’s Mixtures Peach Melba ‘Just Peachy’ Body Mist – a decent body mist. Nothing special though. I won’t repurchase it, but if you like the scent of peaches and peach skin, give this one a try.
empties-022017-3
4 Boots Extracts Olive Body Butter – one of my favourite Boots Extracts body butters. Unfortunately this body butter has been discontinued. But I have a few tubs left! 🙂

5 Superdrug Tea Tree Skin Care Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash – a decent face wash. I really liked it in the beginning but I grew tired of it because it took me ages to finish it. I might repurchase this product in the future. However, I’ve got lots of other face washes to go through, so I won’t be repurchasing this one any time soon.
empties-022017-4
6 Herbal Essences Moisture Balance Conditioner – this conditioner is the best thing ever! If you’ve never used the original Herbal Essences products, you have no idea what you’ve been missing out on. Buy this conditioner – and the matching shampoo. And buy the pink versions (Herbal Essences Classics Silk N’ Shine) as well. The shampoos are clarifying, and the conditioners give your hair tons of moisture without making your hair feel heavy or greasy. 100% Awesome!

7 Radox Relax Bath Gel – I really like this one. The lavender and waterlily fragrance is wonderful. I’ll buy this bath gel again, no doubt.

8 NSPA Caramel Chocolate Shower & Bath Gel – this shower gel has been one of my favourites this winter. It was a limited Christmas edition and I hope that NSPA will relaunch it (together with the one and only NSPA Caramel Fudge shower gel) this autumn. Fingers crossed!
empties-022017-2
9 Boots Mediterranean Bergamot Olive & Orange Body Butter – this is a nice body butter. Rich and hydrating – but not sticky. Too bad Boots discontinued their Mediterranean collection. Otherwise I’d probably repurchase this body butter!

10 Max Factor Pan Stik (2) – I almost despaired when I realised that I’ve been using 6 Max Factor Pan Stik foundations at the same time. However, I managed to prioritise the near-empty ones – this means that I finished 2 Pan Stiks this month! The Pan Stik is also my Holy Grail foundation and I would recommend it to everyone with dry skin. I will repurchase this product, no doubt. However, in addition to the other 4 Pan Stiks I’m currently using, I think I have at least 6 unused Pan Stiks in my stash. So I don’t need to buy foundation any time soon.
empties-022017-5
11 Radox Mango Mayhem Shower Gel – this is a fantastic shower gel. The mango fragrance is just lovely – it’s almost as good as the Boots Extracts Mango fragrance! Repurchase? Yes!

12 Imperial Leather Effortless Rich Moisturising Body Wash – this one smells great. One of the best shower gels I’ve ever had. Ever! Repurchase? No doubt!

13 Nivea Q10 Firming Body Lotion – I really liked this body lotion. It’s not the richest formula, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing – especially when you’re in a hurry. I will definitely repurchase this body lotion!

This is it for this month. I think I did quite well! I wasn’t sure whether I’d be able to finish the Imperial Leather shower gel, but I did it! Success! I hope I’ll be able to finish just as many (or more) products next month. Wish me luck! 🙂

Beauty Haul – Bargains From The Discount Stores – For £12 In Total!

Hi there! I often go to Poundland, Poundworld, Home Bargains and the likes. That’s because I find great stuff all the time. And I really want to show you what I came home with last week.
Olay Gift Set
This beautiful gift set contains a full size Olay Complete Day Cream (50 ml) and an Olay mirror. As a true Olay girl I had to have it. The face cream alone is usually £10. Superdrug sells the face cream and mirror set for £10. But the same set is £4 only (special promotion) at Poundland if you spend at least £1 in store. Bargain!
Max Factor Nail Polish
I also got my hands on 3 Max Factor Glossfinity nail polishes. From left to right: 140 Cobalt Blue, 100 Candy Floss, and 175 Aqua Marine. MF Glossfinity polishes are usually £5.99 at the big drugstore chains. But I got these for £1 each from Poundland and Poundworld.
Max Factor ES
I was really please to find Max Factor Max Effect Mono Eye Shadows as well. The two shades I bought are 12 Mysterious Black and 07 Vibrant Mauve. Max Factor has launched new mono eyeshadows, so these ones are on the way out – but they’re still £4.99 each at Superdrug. Or £1 each at Poundland and Poundworld.
Imperial Leather Shower 05
Up next are toiletries. I got Imperial Leather’s 500 ml (that’s 100% extra free!) Skin Kind body washes. The fragrances are (from left to right) Raspberry & Lime Blossom, Cotton Extract & Oat Milk, and Cucumber & Aloe Vera. They’re usually about £2.79 each – but Poundland sells them for £1 each.

I haven’t used any of these products yet, but the face cream, the shower gels and the eyeshadows are going to be used soon! I’ll let you know how I like all these products. 🙂
