Maybelline Color Elixir By Colorsensational 135 Raspberry Rhapsody

Hi there! Today’s review is about Maybelline Color Elixir By Colorsensational 135 Raspberry Rhapsody. This is one of the products I picked up very recently. Since I haven’t used a lipgloss in a while, I gave this one a try right away, and here’s what I think. 🙂

I love it! This lipgloss has the most amazing colour; it’s a dark raspberry shade which, unfortunately, was impossible to capture with any of the phones or cameras we own. Sorry! But I love the colour (it makes my teeth look whiter than they are, and it looks great with pale skin), I love the glossy finish (no glitter), I love the taste (candy vanilla), and I love that it hydrates my lips.

In summary, I love this lipgloss very much. I already went back to Poundland and bought a back-up! Maybelline Color Elixir By Colorsensational 135 Raspberry Rhapsody is available for ÂŁ1 (Poundland).

Nail Of The Day – Christmas Nail Ideas / Maybelline Forever Strong 605 Hyper Jade & Pop Rocks Groupie

Hi there! Today’s post is the last post for this week. And, of course, it’s another Christmas Nail Ideas post.

For this mani I painted my nails with Maybelline Forever Strong 605 Hyper Jade (2 coats). This polish is almost a one-coater. Nice!

The top coat I used is called Pop Rocks Groupie. It’s a sheer green jelly topper that’s packed with silver holo glitter. I had to apply 2 coats, but I didn’t mind because the mani turned out to look amazing. 🙂

How do you like this mani? Will you do a Christmas mani? Which colours will you use? Feel free to get in touch. And thanks for stopping by!

Nail Of The Day – Sinful Colors Blue La La, Revlon 044 Blue Lagoon, Maybelline Colorshow 654 Superpower Blue & Stamping With MoYou London Doodles 07

Hi there! I’ve got a Nail Of The Day post for you today. And it’s another marine mani!

For this mani I painted my nails with Sinful Colors Blue La La (2 coats, pinkies, middle fingers), Revlon 044 Blue Lagoon (2 coats, ring fingers), and Maybelline Colorshow 654 Superpower Blue (2 coats, index fingers, thumbs).

I used MoYou London‘s super cute Doodles 07 stamping plate.

As almost always, I used drugstore polishes as my stamping polishes: Maybelline Colorshow 654 Superpower Blue (pinkies, middle fingers), Orly Snow Cone (index fingers, thumbs), and Revlon 902 Craving Coral (ring fingers).

I like this mani. It’s not my best marine mani, but it looks cute, so what’s not to like? Do you like marine manis? Feel free to get in touch. By the way, if you’d like to order from MoYou, you can get 10% off if you order through this link.

Maybelline Color Sensational Luscious Lipgloss 130 Crushed Candy & 160 Treat Me Sweet

Hi there! I haven’t reviewed any lip products in ages, so I thought I could (or should) do a post about 2 Maybelline Color Sensational lipglosses. The shades / flavours are 130 Crushed Candy and 160 Treat Me Sweet.

Crushed Candy is a pale pink gloss, Treat Me Sweet is a pale peach gloss. Both glosses contain micro shimmer particles which, fortunately, aren’t visible on the lips. Having said that, these two glosses are indeed super glossy on the lips!

Onto the flavours! Crushed Candy is peppermint-flavoured. It’s actually quite nice. And Treat Me Sweet is… sensational! The flavour is the loveliest sweet flavour I could imagine. I can’t describe it, but it has everything. If I ever find any kind of food stuff that tastes like this lipgloss, I’ll be in trouble!

I believe these lipglosses have been discontinued – but you can still find them at Poundland, Poundworld (which is where I bought them) and the likes.

Reducing My Samples Stash – Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation Sand

Hi there! Today I’m reviewing Maybelline’s Dream Satin Liquid Foundation which I have (well, had) a sample of. The shade I tried is Sand. This foundation promises to make pores appear invisible and to create a perfect complexion. Sounds… cocky! I’ve now given the foundation a try, so let me tell you more about it.

I love how the foundation felt when I applied it. It was dreamy. And satiney. Wow! However, it was impossible to blend the foundation into my skin. I tried, and tried, and tried again – but it didn’t work. And I was disappointed to see that this foundation settled into my pores and fine lines, thus making them more visible.

This foundation doesn’t provide much coverage. However, it still manages to look unnatural and cakey. And on top of that I’ve noticed that this foundation oxidises quite a bit. My face looked orange after just a few hours.

Based on my experience I wouldn’t recommend this foundation. If you want a natural looking foundation that provides good coverage without looking like it’s been caked on, you need to look elsewhere. Maybelline’s Dream Satin Liquid Foundation is available as 30ml for ÂŁ8.

Nail Of The Day – Maybelline Forever Strong Pro 795 Cloudy Grey & Stamping

Hi there! Today’s post is about a mani I did recently. It’s not a very special one, but I just wanted to try something. 🙂

For this mani I painted my nails with Maybelline Forever Strong Pro 795 Cloudy Grey. This polish is a true one-coater which is nice. However, this polish takes a while to dry.

I wanted to have a floral mani, so I chose two stamping plates with cute floral images = B41 and P21. These stamping plates are unbranded ones. So I don’t know who manufactured them.

The polish I stamped with is Revlon 902 Craving Coral.

I think this mani turned out alright. It’s not very special, but it’s not the most boring mani ever. What do you think? Feel free to comment. And thanks for reading! 🙂

Nail Of The Day – Maybelline Forever Strong 795 Cloudy Grey & Stamping With Pueen 53 / Nail Art Challenge #16 Print

upload-4Hi there! Today I’ve got another nail post for you. 🙂

With today’s post I’m continuing “my” 31 Days Nail Art Challenge.

However, today’s challenge is the first challenge that I have changed a little. I thought that changing it would be better than skipping it altogether!

The original challenge #16 would have been Tribal Print. However, I dislike tribal print manis just as much as I dislike polka dot manis, so I changed Tribal Print to Print.

And this means… the new challenge is #16 Print! Hey, what’s more print than newspaper print? 🙂

For this mani I painted my nails with Maybelline Forever Strong 795 Cloudy Grey (1 coat). And I could finally use my Pueen 53 plate (from Pueen’s Stamping Buffet collection)! The black polish I stamped with is Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro 430 Black Satin.

How do you like this mani? I think it’s alright. It’s not my favourite mani, but it certainly beats beige nail colours (yawn…) and the likes. 🙂 If you want to comment, please do so. And thanks for stopping by!

Maybelline Colorshow Blush ‘Em – Pink Cheeks

Hi there! Today’s post is about a blush I picked up at one of the Poundstores. It’s called Maybelline Colorshow Blush’em! Unfortunately this blush doesn’t have a name – and I also couldn’t find a number on the back. So I’ve just called it ‘Pink Cheeks’.

When I picked up the blush, I thought I’d be getting a lot of product for ÂŁ1. However, when I opened the compact I was surprised – and disappointed. The blush pan is tiny, and the small brush that was included is useless. By the way, there was no mention of a brush being included anywhere on the compact…

But I think I shouldn’t complain because this blush was ÂŁ1 only and I’m not running out of blush any time soon. In addition, I might actually be able to finish this one! 🙂

Now, how’s the product? I think this blush duo is actually decent. The pigmentation is OK – sure, it could be better, but again, I might be able to finish this one! This blush is easily blendable, and I think these pink shades are definitely suitable for pale skin tones.

This blush seems to be discontinued. But you might still find it at your local Poundland or Poundworld. I picked up a few different shades, so if this pink combo isn’t your favourite, there are other colours! 🙂

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Make-Up 30 Sand, Dream Mousse Blush 01 Dolly Pink & Dream Mousse Eyecolor 10 Caramel Karma

Maybelline Mousse Samples2Hi there! My latest quest to finally use all those free samples filling up my drawers led me to Maybelline’s Dream Mousse products.

I didn’t do swatches because the samples didn’t contain much product. But I’ll tell you how these products fared anyway.

I applied Maybelline’s Dream Matte Mousse make-up in 30 Sand with my fingers. The foundation was easy to apply and it felt very nice on my skin. I think the coverage is quite impressive.

However, the product didn’t really work with my dry skin – it highlighted a big dry patch (the size of a 50p coin) which I didn’t even know I had. So I think this foundation is better suited to people with oily skin.

I didn’t care for Maybelline’s Dream Mouss blush in 01 Dolly Pink. The blush was much thinner than the foundation and I didn’t manage to apply it as evenly as I had hoped (I’ve never used a mousse blush before).

The good thing is that the blush can be wiped off or blended into the foundation easily, so mistakes can be corrected. However, the downside is that you really can wipe off the blush by accident. Also, this blush is glittery. And since it’s so very easily blendable, I looked like I had gold dust all over my face. This product is definitely not for me.

Maybelline’s Dream Mousse Eyecolor in 10 Caramel Karma fared better than the blush. The shade is a beautiful shimmery light brown which was easy to apply and blend. Unfortunately the mousse eyeshadow didn’t stick to my eyelids. So I ended up with lots of small brown flakes under my eyes and on my cheeks. I tried to wipe off those flakes – very carefully – but this started the unfortunate chain of events which made my face look like it was sprayed with gold dust.

I wouldn’t recommend any of these products to people with dry skin. However, I can see that these mousse products would work well for people with oily skin. In regards to the foundation, the coverage is very nice. I’m thinking of buying a full-size pot of foundation to see if I can somehow mix it with my much loved Pan Stik foundation this summer. 🙂

Maybelline Color Sensational Luscious Lipgloss 410 Peach Sorbet & 520 Cherry Kiss

Hi there! I spotted these cute Maybelline Color Sensational Luscious Lipglosses at Poundland the other day. I’m not very much into Maybelline, and their Popsticks left me pretty much underwhelmed. But I thought these glosses looked promising. I’ve tried them both now. So it’s time I put my thoughts into words.
Maybelline Lipgloss
Maybelline Color Sensational Luscious Lipgloss 410 Peach Sorbet has a peachy tint which is invisible on the lips. I’m OK with that because I don’t care for peachy, orange or coral lips. Maybelline Color Sensational Luscious Lipgloss 520 Cherry Kiss looks tinted in the tube as well. But the soft cherry tint doesn’t show on the lips at all. I’m OK with that too because I’m not a red lips gal at all.

I really like these glosses. Here’s what’s good:
– fruity flavours that last,
– very moisturising,
– no shimmer or sparkle

I have to mention that I find the cherry flavour a bit too sweet for my taste, and I think the glosses are quite sticky (certainly above average sticky). But overall I really like them and I’ll use them up for sure.

I believe these Maybelline Color Sensational Luscious Lipglosses have been discontinued. However, they can still be found online or in discount stores like Poundland, etc.
