Boots No7 Total Renewal Micro-Dermabrasion Exfoliator

Hi there! Happy Thursday! Today’s post is about this Boots No7 Total Renewal Micro-Dermabrasion Exfoliator which was part of a gift set I treated myself to (half price, Boxing Day).

This exfoliator is quite something – it comes with its own leaflet which features a how to use section and a separate warning section.

But it’s not as scary as it sounds – since this is a micro-dermabrasion product, it shouldn’t be used in conjunction with retinol, AHA, BHA and other exfoliating products. It’s also important to note that this product increases the skin’s sensitivity to sunlight, so you should use a sunscreen!

This is a very powerful product which should be used once to twice a week and never on 2 consecutive days.

Make sure you read the leaflet in its entirety before you use the product – just to be on the safe side!

Alrighty – let’s get to my findings! When I tried this product for the first time, it reminded me of some of the harsher scrubs. It’s a very effective exfoliator! However, unlike those harsher scrubs, this product doesn’t cut the skin – so you won’t end up with spots all over your face. This exfoliator always leaves my skin feeling insanely soft. I’m blown away! I don’t have lines or wrinkles, so I can’t comment on any potential anti-ageing effect, but judging by how powerful it is, I am more than happy to continue using this product, and I will buy the full size, no doubt!

If you’re interested, Boots No7 Total Renewal Micro-Dermabrasion Exfoliator is available as 75ml for £11. Boots often runs 3 for 2 promotions on their No 7 products, so this might be something to look out for! In any event, if you decide to use this product, please make sure you read the leaflet and follow the instructions!

Nail Of The Day – MUA Love Hearts U ROK & Colors By Llarowe Madame Vastra

Hi there! Today’s short post is about the mani I’m currently wearing.

For this mani I painted my nails with MUA Love Hearts U ROK (2 coats). This is a quick-drying and cute light purple polish. I like it a lot!

The top coat I used is Colors By Llarowe Madame Vastra. This is a gorgeous flakie top coat. Gorgeous! The photo doesn’t do it any justice at all.

I’ll do another mani with this top coat soon. And I’ll take photos during the day in natural light.

I like this mani a lot. It looks incredible in real life. Purple + flakies = LOVE!

Revisiting Holy Grail Products – Herbal Essences Moisture Balance Shampoo & Conditioner

Hi there! Today’s post is about one of my all-time hair care combos – Herbal Essences Moisture Balance Shampoo & Conditioner. These are part of Herbal Essences’ Classics collection. They have been discontinued, then relaunched, then discontinued again. I hope they’ll be relaunched again. In the meantime, I have stocked up – I’m sitting on an impressive stash of Herbal Essences Classics products!

Alrighty, what’s the shampoo like? Herbal Essences Moisture Balance Shampoo is just wow! It. Is. The. Bomb. It’s clarifying but gentle at the same time. And the dreamy fragrance is an added bonus. 11 stars!

Herbal Essences Moisture Balance Conditioner is the perfect product after the shampoo. I never brush or comb my hair – I just use conditioner to detangle my hair in the shower every morning – and with this conditioner, it’s a quick and easy job. This conditioner mops the floor with its competition! 11 stars!

Herbal Essences Moisture Balance Shampoo & Conditioner are available as 400ml each for about £2 in bargain stores (Poundstretcher). They can also be found online – albeit for a higher price. But these products are worth every penny!

100% Vegan & Cruelty-Free – Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Care Smoothing All Over Body Cream With Acacia Collagen

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Care Smoothing All Over Body Cream With Acacia Collagen. This body cream is aimed at people with mature or dry skin, and it promises to replenish and to hydrate the skin. Sounds great! What else sounds great? This product is certified cruelty-free (it carries the Leaping Bunny logo), and it’s suitable for vegans! 😍 Onto the review!

I’ve been using this body cream for about 4 weeks now, and I love it! The formula is amazing – it’s very hydrating, but it feels so light and the cream is absorbed in no time. It makes my skin feel amazing, and it’s perfect for warmer summer days! The fragrance is outstanding too. It’s sweet, floral, powdery and dreamy – it reminds me a bit of Superdrug’s limited edition moonstone extract body cream from 2019.

All in all, this is a great body cream! Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Care Smoothing All Over Body Cream With Acacia Collagen is available as 300ml for £4.99. I bought it (and another body cream) when Superdrug ran a Buy 1 Get 2nd Half Price promotion.

Boots Ultra Fine Sheet Mask With Added Pomegranate Extract

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Boots Ultra Fine Sheet Mask With Added Pomegranate Extract which promises to brighten and to hydrate the skin. This is a regular leave-on sheet mask. Cleanse your face, put the mask on, leave it on for about 15-20 minutes, then pat the excess essence into your skin.

I tried this mask the other day, and I did like it. It’s not the most original sheet mask, but I found it hydrating and refreshing. The mask leaves a slightly sticky film on the skin, but it’s not too bad. I would buy this mask again, although using it 2-3 times per week (as it says on the back of the pack) isn’t what I have in mind!

I think this mask is definitely worth a try, and if you’re interested, Boots Ultra Fine Sheet Mask With Added Pomegranate Extract is available as a 25g single-use mask for £1.50. I bought it as part of a bundle of different face masks (6 masks for £5).

NSPA Detoxifying Clay Mask With Charcoal & Menthol

Hi there! Today’s post is about this NSPA Detoxifying Clay Mask With Charcoal & Menthol. This face mask is aimed at combination and oily skin types. It promises to draw out impurities and excess oil for clear and clean skin.

The best way to use the mask is… cleanse your face, apply the mask, leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse it off.

One sachet contained plenty of product; it was enough for 2 faces – so my husband and I were able to share this mask. We found the mask to be cooling and very cleansing, but not drying. We both enjoyed the mask, and I will buy it again, no doubt!

If you’re interested, NSPA Detoxifying Clay Mask With Charcoal & Menthol is available as a single-use 15ml mask for £1.50. Asda often has these masks on special for £1 – which is what I paid.

Skin Treats Strawberry Clay Face Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Skin Treats Strawberry Clay Face Mask which promises to cleanse, rejuvenate and nourish the skin. Cleanse your face, apply the mask, let it dry for 10-15 minutes, then wash it off. Job done!

I’ve given this mask a try, and I found it to be cleansing; my husband has oily skin, and he found it drying. The mask was not nourishing or “rejuvenating”. I did like that it hardly smelled of anything.

Unfortunately, this mask was super messy to wash off. The shower ended up covered in small pink clay balls which were impossible to break up. It annoyed me quite a bit because I just deep-cleaned the shower the day before (after my second and last use of a shower jelly).

Skin Treats Strawberry Clay Face Mask is available as a 20ml single-use face mask (which is enough product for 2 uses) for £1 (B&M Bargains). I won’t buy it again though.

Masking Detoxing Charcoal & Menthol Sheet Face Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Masking Detoxing Charcoal & Menthol Sheet Face Mask. This sheet mask promises (I’m quoting Tesco here:) “to help gently remove build-up while unblocking pores without stripping skin of moisture.”

How does it work? Cleanse your face, put the mask on and leave it on for 15-20 minutes, then take it off and pat the remaining essence into your skin or remove it using a cotton pad.

I’ve given this mask a try, and I found it quite good. I can’t comment on whether this mask would actually give skin a deep cleanse. There are other products, such as face washes, scrubs, sponges, toners etc which would be more suited to this particular skin care need. However, I found the mask refreshig and reviving, and I liked that! The mask was a bit sticky though, and I’m deducting an imaginary point for that.

But all in all, this is a good mask. If you’re interested, Masking Detoxing Charcoal & Menthol Sheet Face Mask is available as a 20ml single-use sheet mask for £1 (Tesco). Also, according to the manufacturer, this sheet mask is cruelty-free and suitable for vegans!

100% Cruelty-Free – Primark PS… Plumping Gel Sheet Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Primark PS… Plumping Gel Sheet Mask. This mask contains pro-vitamin B5, sea water, argan kernel oil, sodium hyaluronate and collagen. The mask promises to plump up the skin. This mask is easy to use – apply it after you’ve cleansed your face, leave it on for 15 minutes, then pat the leftover essence into your skin.

I’ve given this mask a try, and I’m happy to report that it had a plumping effect. I also liked the subtle rose fragrance. However, the mask was terribly sticky – and that’s why I wouldn’t buy it again.

If you’re interested, Primark PS… Plumping Gel Sheet Mask is available as a 23g single-use face mask for £1.50 at Primark. This face mask is certified cruelty-free – it carries the Leaping Bunny logo!
