Rimmel Glam Eyes Quad Eyeshadow 019 Sun Safari

Hi there! Today’s post is about a small eyeshadow palette – Rimmel Glam Eyes Quad Eyeshadow 019 Sun Safari. As you can see, these are shimmery neutral eyeshadows.

I think this little eyeshadow quad is quite nice. I always do dark outer corners, so I can’t use this quad on its own. However, I like the pale sand shade (bottom) as an inner corner highlight, and the other 3 shades are great on the lids, and they blend very well. I really like the colours – they go very well with my green eyes!

I’ve done and redone the swatches and took dozens of photos each time. Unfortunately, it wasn’t possible to catch the eyeshadows in all their glory. The pale sand shade (bottom) hardly shows at all because it’s almost the same shade as my pale forearm – that’s if you ignore the shimmer!

But yeah, these eyeshadows are really good. I’ve previously had Rimmel eyeshadows and small compacts, and some of them were disappointing. Because of this, this quad was a nice surprise!

Based on my experience, I’d recommend this eyeshadow quad! Rimmel Glam Eyes Quad Eyeshadow 019 Sun Safari is available at a number of online outlets. I paid £1 (Poundland).

Reducing My Oldies Stash – Astor Pure Colour Eyeshadow 530 Sweet Daisy, Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadow 03 Frosted Apple & 05 Chocolate Jewellery, Miss Sporty Studio Colour Smoky Eyeshadows 407 Luxury Smoky

Hi there! Today’s episode of Reducing My Oldies Stash is about a few single eyeshadows and eyeshadow compacts that I’ve had for quite some time. The 2 compacts are Astor Pure Colour Eyeshadow 530 Sweet Daisy and Miss Sporty Studio Colour Smoky Eyeshadows 407 Luxury Smoky.

The 2 single eyeshadows are Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadow 03 Frosted Apple & 05 Chocolate Jewellery. Now let me tell you if these products are any good. And let’s start with the Astor compact!

Astor Pure Colour Eyeshadow 530 Sweet Daisy

Astor Pure Colour Eyeshadow 530 Sweet Daisy is a duo eyeshadow compact that comes with a small applicator. The eyeshadows are a bit chalky and they’re not very well pigmented. And the colours turned out much cooler in real life. In the compact the colours look like a pale beige-rose and a brownish purple, but in real life they’re more like lilac and lavender.

I’m OK with lilac and lavender eyeshadows, but I’m not OK with them being chalky and rather poorly pigmented. I will continue to use these eyeshadows, but I don’t know if I can commit to finishing this Astor eyeshadow compact.

Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadow 03 Frosted Apple & 05 Chocolate Jewellery

Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadow 03 Frosted Apple & 05 Chocolate Jewellery are limited edition eyeshadows. I’m not sure if you would still be able to get your hands on them, but I’m sure that, at some point, Essence will ‘recycle’ these two shades – well, that’s if they haven’t already. 🙂

Frosted Apple is a rosey shade, and Chocolate Jewellery is a medium brown. Both eyeshadows have a metallic finish. I think these eyeshadows are really nice. The shades aren’t too out there – they’re actually fairly neutral, and the velvety texture makes these eyeshadows easy to blend. I enjoy using these eyeshadows, so, of course, I will continue to use them! 🙂

Miss Sporty Studio Colour Smoky Eyeshadows 407 Luxury Smoky

Miss Sporty Studio Colour Smoky Eyeshadows 407 Luxury Smoky is a small eyeshadow compact that comes with a tiny applicator. This compact is really small – it’s about 2cm x 2cm. Anyhoo… this compact contains four eyeshadows – a barely-there pale beige, a golden yellow, a medium grey and an almost black / charcoal shade.

The almost black / charcoal eyeshadow is the only well pigmented one. The other 3 eyeshadows aren’t great. They’re lacklustre. They lack… life! I can make these 4 eyeshadows work for me, but I don’t really enjoy using them. I will continue to use them, and I will try to finish them. Well, this compact is really small, so I think finishing it isn’t impossible. 🙂

Have you tried any of these eyeshadows or eyeshadow compacts? If so, feel free to let me know what you think. And thanks for stopping by!

Essence Single Eyeshadows Part II – 53 Pop Eye, 74 Peach Beach, 35 Party All Night, 09 Get Ready!, 04 Black Goddess

Hi there! Today’s post is part 2 of my review of Essence’s single eyeshadows. Not too long ago I found quite a few untried products in my stash. Since I wanted to actually wear / use the products before reviewing them, I’ve split up the eyeshadow review in two parts. In case you haven’t seen it, part 1 is here.
Essence Eyeshadows 2
I’ve now worn all of these five eyeshadows – and I really love them. As I’ve said in my last post, the quality of Essence’s eyeshadows is absolutely amazing. Pigmentation, blendability and staying power are great!

I swatched the eyeshadows in the following order: 53 Pop Eye (matte black), 74 Peach Beach (soft peach with intense shimmer – it’s almost holographic), 35 Party All Night (metallic beige-gold / it came out as a bright gold in the pic above – not sure why), 09 Get Ready! (teddy brown with pearl effect), 04 Black Goddess (shimmery dark grey – can be built up to charcoal).
Essence Eyeshadows 4
I’m so happy with these eyeshadows! They’re extremely pretty and of great quality. Essence has redone its eyeshadow collection – but the singles are about £1.60 each only – incredible value!

If you’d like to try Essence cosmetics (if you haven’t already), you can find their products at Wilko. If you’re interested in Essence’s lipliners, check out my swatches. 🙂

Essence Single Eyeshadows Part I – 78 Vanilla Milkshake, 80 Groovy Grapes, 02 Dance All Night, 79 Lola Petrola, 68 Strawberry Ice Cream

Hi there! I’m trying to bring some order into my beauty stash – and I found quite a few Essence single eyeshadows which I’ve never used. Now that I’ve found them, I do remember buying them when they were 50p each – that was when Essence revamped their eyeshadow collection about a year ago (?).
Essence Eyeshadows 1
I’ve now tried these eyeshadows – and I think they’re great. They’re even softer and more buttery than Sleek or MakeUp Revolution eyeshadows (I’m totally thrown – but in a good way!). And they’re highly pigmented.

I swatched these five eyeshadows in the same order as they’re in the picture above: 78 Vanilla Milkshake (shimmery vanilla), 80 Groovy Grapes (dusty purple), 02 Dance All Night (sparkly gold), 79 Lola Petrola (petrol / teal), 68 Strawberry Ice Cream (shimmery baby pink).
Essence Eyeshadows 3
These eyeshadows are extremely nice! Groovy Grapes and Lola Petrola look a bit weak in the photo, but they’re really great in real life. The three shimmers look a bit pale in the pictures – but that’s because of my pale arms. 🙂 Anyway, the eyeshadows are easily blendable and they don’t give me any trouble at all. So yes, I’d definitely recommend them! I’ve got a few more of these to try and wear – and I’ll report back on the remaining eyeshadows shortly.

In the meantime, if you’re interested in Essence cosmetics, you can find their products at Wilko. If you’re into nail stamping, you should try Essence’s white stamping polish which is £1.49 only!

Astor Couture Eye Shadow 760 Matte Grey, 750 Matte Black

Hi there! Today’s post is a short one. And it’s about two single eyeshadows I love: Astor Couture Eye Shadow 760 Matte Grey and 750 Matte Black. I found these eyeshadows for £1 – and they turned out to be amazing!
Astor Eye Shadow Matte Grey Matte Black 1
Each single eyeshadow comes with a small curved sponge applicator. I don’t use those sponge applicators on my eyes. But I always keep them because I can usually use them for nail art, especially gradients. 🙂

But let’s get to the eyeshadows now! I think Astor did a really good job with these two. The matte grey has an amazing colour payoff. The matte black isn’t perfect, but it’s just as good as Sleek’s matte black (Au Naturel palette).
Astor Eye Shadow Matte Grey Matte Black 3
I love these eyeshadows because they stay put and there’s hardly any fallout. Considering these eyeshadows were £1 (Poundland or Poundworld, can’t remember) only, the quality is really good! And yes, I would recommend them. So if you look for neutral, matte eyeshadows for everyday use, these are for you.

Rimmel Colour Rush Trio Eye Shadow 760 Elements

Hi there! Today’s post is about Rimmel Colour Rush Trio Eye Shadows 760 Elements. This product was in the half price bin at my local Poundworld store – so it was 50p only! This eyeshadow trio is a leftover item from a discontinued range, but it was sealed, so I was happy to pick it up. But – there’s a but…
Rimmel 760 Elements
I’ve now tried the product, and I’m pretty much underwhelmed. I’m sure you see why when you look at the swatches above. The eyeshadows felt soft and silky, but they weren’t very pigmented. They came out really pale and lacklustre. I think this would explain why this pretty-looking neutral eyeshadow trio ended up in a discount store.

I will definitely use these three eyeshadows, but since they’re so pale, I can only use them as highlighter (shade 1) or blending shades (shades 2 and 3). Anyway, I hope my other recent beauty bargains will not let me down.

Technic Sultry Eyeshadows – Tawny

Hi there! I can’t get enough of neutral eyeshadows, so I bought another eye palette: Technic Sultry Eyeshadows – Tawny. This small palette contains six shades – four shimmers (shades 2,3,4,6) and two mattes (1,5).
Technic Sultry Eyeshadow Tawny
The colour selection is really nice, but the swatches look quite faint – that’s because the eyeshadows are not as pigmented as I hoped. However, the eyeshadows don’t give me any trouble in terms of fallout or creasing.
2015 Technic Sultry Eyeshadow Tawny 05
I don’t think I would buy this eyeshadow palette again. Priced at £1.49 it’s an absolute bargain. However, other comparable drugstore products are of much better quality. If you want to give Technic Sultry Eyeshadows – Tawny a try, this is what the palette looks like.
