Nivea Refreshing Face Wash

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Nivea Refreshing Face Wash.

I know this face wash has been around forever, but I’ve never used it before.

About 2 months ago, I went to my local Boots as I really needed a new face wash. My local Boots only had a small selection of facial cleansers, and this Nivea face wash was on special = easy choice.

Alrighty, this face wash contains vitamin E and Nivea’s patented Hydra IQ, and it aims to cleanse and to rehydrate the skin by supporting the skin’s moisture balance and by reducing water loss.

I’ve used this face wash for about 6 weeks now, and I think it’s OK. The face wash is refreshing, but I find it drying, and it’s not as cleansing as I had hoped.

I also don’t love the rather strong scent. Whilst I generally love scented products, and whilst I would always choose a scented product over an unscented one, this face wash smells much stronger than my shower gels or hair products. It shouldn’t be like this!

I will use up this face wash (and use more facial oil in my skin care to combat the dryness this face wash is causing). But I won’t repurchase it. If you’re interested, Nivea Refreshing Face Wash is available as 150ml for about £4. I paid £2.10.

Nivea Clay Fresh Deep Cleansing Shower Ginger & Basil Scent, Nivea Clay Fresh Deep Cleansing Shower Hibiscus & White Sage Scent

Hi there! Today’s post is about 2 shower gels which I started to use in April – Nivea Clay Fresh Deep Cleansing Shower with Ginger & Basil Scent and Nivea Clay Fresh Deep Cleansing Shower with Hibiscus & White Sage Scent. Here’s what I think about these 2 shower gels…

Nivea Clay Fresh Deep Cleansing Shower with Ginger & Basil Scent is really nice. It smells green and fresh – it’s pretty much what I thought it would be like. The formula is lovely too. It makes my skin feel squeaky clean, but at the same time it’s not drying. I like it!

Nivea Clay Fresh Deep Cleansing Shower with Hibiscus & White Sage Scent smells like a sauna! The fragrance is a great match for the clay-theme. I’m happy with this shower gel too!

Nivea Clay Fresh Deep Cleansing Shower with Ginger & Basil Scent and Nivea Clay Fresh Deep Cleansing Shower with Hibiscus & White Sage Scent are available as 250ml for about £2.40 each. I paid 99p each at Savers!

100% Awesome – Nivea Soft Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Nivea Soft Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream. I received this cream as part of a gift set a little while ago. What is it? Well, this cream can be used on the face and on the body. It promises intense hydration for soft skin. Sounds great!

I’ve given this cream a try, and I’m blown away! Within a couple of days, this cream has become one of my all-time favourite body moisturisers. It feels amazing on my skin, it’s absorbed quickly, it’s very hydrating, but it doesn’t feel like “product”. This is a truly amazing product, and I can’t praise it enough!

Nivea Soft Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream is available as 200ml and 300ml. Both sizes are on special at Superdrug at the moment (£2.10 for the 200ml, £2.94 for the 300ml).

Nivea MicellAIR Skin Breathe 2 In 1 Rose Water Cleanser & Toner

Hi there! I’ve got a skin care review for you today. 🙂 This post is about this Nivea MicellAIR Skin Breathe 2 in 1 Rose Water Cleanser & Toner.

This product contains rose water, vitamin E and pro-vitamin B5. It promises to remove even waterproof makeup without harsh rubbing, to cleanse skin thoroughly for a refreshed feel, and to tone and purify the skin without drying it out.

On the back of the bottle it says that the product works like a magnet (!) that removes dirt and impurities. The result it claims to achieve is soft, smooth and healthy looking skin that can breathe.

This product works like a normal cleanser. Massage it into your skin and take it off with a cotton pad or water.

Well, this product sounds like the perfect product for anyone who wears makeup. However, I’ve been using this product since the beginning of the new year, and I don’t think that it keeps any of its promises.

When I use the product with a cotton pad, it’s not very effective. I have to use quite a bit of product to dissolve my makeup!

In addition, when I use this product I have to go over my face again and again and again… it’s not great. What makes it even worse is that the product has a strangely dull feel to it. I don’t think that this is good for anyone’s skin!

Wait, there’s more… this product doesn’t replace a toner. You actually NEED to use a proper toner after you’ve used this product because it’ll leave plenty of makeup and dirt on your face.

This product is better when removed with water, ideally with a hot cloth (although I’d still recommend you use a toner right after). However, there are better products (in the same price range) out there for this way of facial cleansing

What else? This product has a very strong fragrance. Granted, it’s from the rose water and not from added fragrance. However, I don’t like the fragrance, so this is another reason why I won’t repurchase this product. I’ll try to finish it, but I’m no longer interested in trying any other products from Nivea’s MicellAIR range.

If you’re interested, Nivea MicellAIR Skin Breathe 2 in 1 Rose Water Cleanser & Toner is available as 200ml. I paid £1.99 at Home Bargains!

Nivea Nourishing Honey Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about Nivea‘s Nourishing Honey Mask for dry skin.

This face mask contains honey extract and almond oil. It promises to nourish and soothe dry and stressed skin, and to make skin feel hydrated and nourished.

Nivea recommends this face mask be used once or twice a week. Just apply it to your face, leave it alone for 10-15 minutes, and simply remove any leftovers with a cosmetic tissue.

Since this mask doesn’t need to be rinsed off, I’ve decided to use it as a night cream (one sachet contained enough product for a full week). In addition, 7.5ml is a huge amount for a single-use leave-on mask, and I think that removing and discarding most of the product after a few minutes is just wasteful.

Is this mask any good? I think this mask is perfect for dry winter skin. Since I’ve used it for 7 consecutive days I am happy to report that it has temporarily transformed my skin from dry to ultra-nourished. The effect lasted for almost another week after the last application. I’m looking forward to using the 2nd sachet as a night cream as well. I’ll save it for the next cold spell!

Nivea‘s Nourishing Honey Mask for combination skin is available as 2x 7.5ml. I paid £1 (Poundland). I would recommend this mask to anyone with dry skin because it really works! If Poundland still stocks these masks, I will buy a few more!

Nivea Indulgent Moisture Orange Shower Cream & Nivea Indulging Moisture Cocoa Caring Shower Cream

Hi there! I’m reviewing 2 shower gels today – Nivea Indulgent Moisture Orange Shower Cream and Nivea Indulging Moisture Cocoa Caring Shower Cream.

Nivea Indulgent Moisture Orange Shower Cream is an old favourite. I hadn’t bought it in years (and I don’t even know why), but it was on special when I saw it the other day, and so I picked it up! This shower cream is fantastic. It feels amazing on the skin, and the soapy orange fragrance is a delight. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it also reminds me of cheese cake (with mandarin segments in it). Great stuff!

Nivea Indulging Moisture Cocoa Caring Shower Cream was new to me. But I’m glad I finally bought this shower cream because it feels great on my skin, and the dark chocolate fragrance is lovely. This is the perfect shower cream for this time of year.

Nivea Indulgent Moisture Orange Shower Cream and Nivea Indulging Moisture Cocoa Caring Shower Cream are available as 250ml each. I paid £1 each (special offer).

Merry Christmas!

Nivea Refining Peel Off Mask

Hi there! Today’s short post is about Nivea‘s Refining Peel Off Mask for combination skin. 🙂

This face mask promises to exfoliate skin gently, to remove sebum and to reduce shine for several hours.

It works like any other peel-off mask. Just apply it to your face, let it dry for 15-20 minutes, then peel it off.

How’s the mask? I think it’s one of the best peel-off masks I’ve ever used. It removes dead skin cells as well as grease and grime with ease. It’s really powerful!

Nivea‘s Refining Peel Off Mask for combination skin is available as 2x 5ml. I paid £1. I will definitely go back to Poundland to buy more of these masks!

Nivea Age-Defying Q10 Hand Cream – With SPF!

Hi there! Since summer has basically arrived, I thought I should try and review a hand cream with SPF!

So today’s post is about Nivea’s Age Defying Q10 Hand Cream. This hand cream is aimed at people who want an anti-wrinkle hand cream that takes care of dry hands, protects hands from sun damage and helps prevent sun spots.

So how’s this hand cream? I think it’s great! It’s quite rich, so it’s not the formula you’d expect from a summer hand cream. But it’s not sticky and it’s absorbed quickly.

I don’t think that this hand cream made my hands appear younger. However, I’ve always taken care of my hands (I think that my hands look 15 years younger than they are), so I wouldn’t expect a new product to do wonders anyway.

I also don’t have any sun spots, but I am satisfied that this hand cream protects my skin from sun damage. My hands look as pale as they did in March, so I trust the SPF in this hand cream.

Oh, one more thing… this hand cream smells lovely. I’d describe the fragrance as happy and yellow – which is perfect for summer!

Nivea’s Age-Defying Q10 Hand Cream (which I would recommend to everyone) is available as 75ml for £4. Nivea used to do 100ml tubes (like the ones I have) for about the same price. However, Nivea updated (= shrunk) the packaging of this hand cream.

If you wonder if the 100ml tubes are still around… yes, they are! Just a few weeks ago I found this hand cream at Poundland (or Poundworld?). And I bought 5 tubes for £1 each. Fantastic value!

Nivea Q10 Firming Body Lotion

Nivea Q10 Firming Body LotionHi there! Today’s post is about a product I’ve been using for almost 3 weeks now: Nivea Q10 Firming Body Lotion.

This body lotion for normal skin promises intensive hydration and – after two weeks of use – noticeably firmer, smoother and more energised skin.

Does it work? Is it any good? Yes, absolutely!

Whilst this body lotion isn’t the most hydrating one out there, I like the formula. It’s light (it’s probably more suitable for the warmer seasons), it’s absorbed quickly and it’s not sticky at all. Very nice!

I’m also happy with how my skin looks and feels. Yes, my skin felt firmer after just a few days. I must say that I’m impressed!

Another thing I like about this body lotion is its fragrance. It smells… sunny and happy!

I will continue to use this body lotion and I will buy it again – no doubt. So yes, I’d recommend it! And I will also try the more nourishing version of this body lotion.

Nivea Q10 Firming Body Lotion is available as 250ml for £5.29 and 400ml for £6.79. I got my 250ml bottle for £2.55 (half price offer). So keep your eyes peeled for promotions to get the best deal!

Have you tried this body lotion? If so, I’d love to know what you think. And thanks for stopping by!
