Makeup Revolution London Lip Hug Love Can Set You Free, Essence XXXL Longlasting Lipgloss 2 Coral Delight, W7 Silky Eyes Bare It All

Hi there! Today’s post is about a number of products I’m using at the moment. Initially I wanted to do individual reviews, but then I decided to do 1 post. 😎 Alrighty, let’s take a closer look at the goodies…

The first item is one of the most wonderful lipsticks I’ve ever had – Makeup Revolution London Lip Hug Love Can Set You Free. Oh! My! God! This lipstick has the most amazing colour – it’s a nude shade that’s both rosey and brownish. I can’t get enough of this beautiful and timeless lip colour! I also love the formula – I think the name “Lip Hug” fits perfectly. 11 STARS!

Up next is this Essence XXXL Longlasting Lipgloss. The shade is 2 Coral Delight. This lipgloss promises a longlasting mirror shine look – and it delivers! I don’t normally go for coral lip colours, but this gloss was on sale for £1, so I bought it (+another shade). I enjoy using this lipgloss (i’s almost used up) because I like the sweet vanilla flavour, and the shimmery sheer coral shade suits me surprisingly well!

Item number 3 is this W7 Silky Eyes Bare It All eyeshadow palette which I started to use in early August. I’ve used this eye palette almost every day, and I’m very happy with it!

As you can see in the swatch below, the brown shade in the top right corner is shimmery, and the brown shade in the top left corner is matte. I like them both, but the brown shimmer is my favourite. I use it most days, and I apply it all over my lid. It goes very well with my green eyes.

The lighter shades are pretty much highlighter shades, and I use them as inner corner highlights. I love the light sand shade which blends beautifully into the brown eyeshadows, and the pale pink looks nice too. I’m not too keen on the cream shade though – I’ve never liked white-to-cream frosty shimmer shades. I never knew what to do with them because they don’t suit me.

Anyhoo… I do like W7’s Bare It All palette! And I can see myself finishing 3 of the 5 pans (shimmery brown, matte brown, sand). It won’t happen any time soon, though!

Have you tried any of these products? Or would you like to try them? Feel free to comment, and thanks for stopping by!

Miss Sporty Lipliners – 007 Slow, 013 Coconut, 014 Earth

Hi there! Today’s post is about 3 Miss Sporty lipliners that I picked up recently (for £1 each) – the shades are (from top to bottom) 007 Slow, 013 Coconut, and 014 Earth. I haven’t seen Miss Sporty products at Boots or Superdrug for a while. I think it’s safe to say the brand will disappear once and for all as soon as the end-of-line discount stores will have sold their stock.

However, since Poundland (this is where I bought these lipliners) and other brick-and-mortar and online stores are still selling Miss Sporty products, I thought I’d do a quick review in case someone’s wondering whether they’re worth picking up. 😊

I’ve been using these lipliners for a few weeks now, and I think they’re really nice. These lipliners are highly pigmented, they’re soft, and they can even be worn as matte lipsticks! I’ve also noticed they look great with gloss on top! What else? These lipliners stay on. They don’t slip. And I like the colours I picked up because these nude-to-brown shades look great on me (I have pale skin, green eyes and ginger hair).

All in all, I’m happy I bought these lipliners, and I enjoy using them. But I’m equally sad because they’ve been discontinued. If you see these lipliners at your local discount store and wonder whether they’re any good – yes, they are!

Manhattan Cosmetics Soft Mat Lip Cream 95G

Hi there! Today’s post is about a product that’s been living in my cosmetic bag for quite some time – Manhattan Soft Mat Lip Cream 95G. These Manhattan lip products have hit the Poundstores (different shades are available), so I thought it’s time for a review. 🙂

So how’s the product? I think it’s not great. This lip cream applies like liquid velvet (it feels amazing), but within a few minutes it dries down to a matte mess. It feels very drying, it doesn’t look good or natural, and the pale nude colour makes me look ill. If you’re wondering why I’ve chosen such a light shade… well, this was the darkest (or the 2nd darkest) available shade. I expected something else…

Having said that, I found a way to make the product work for me! I use it as a base for all those uber-creamy lipsticks that don’t last or tend to bleed. Guess what? It works! Perfectly! You could say the dry lip cream and those uber-creamy lipsticks cling to each other!

All in all, I have no reason to complain. This lip cream has given me the chance to wear a number of different lipsticks that I didn’t think I’d be able to wear at all (well, at least not without checking my lips every half hour…).

100% Awesome – Astor Lipliner Pencil 014 Bronze A.K.A. The Perfect Matte Nude Lippie For 50p

Hi there! Today’s post is about my favourite lipliner, Astor Lipliner Pencil 014 Bronze. I found this fantastic lipliner at Poundworld – where it was part of a duo pack (yes, that’s 2 products for £1). And in fact, I own at least 10 of these lipliners. Why? Well, each duo pack contained 1 lipliner and 1 nail polish. I know I don’t have to say any more, but I’ll do it anyway… of course they had lots of different nail colours, and (unsurprisingly) I had to have all these nail colours. So I ended up with lots of lipliners!

Now why is this lipliner so amazing? Ha, that’s easy! Look at it! The colour is the most amazing nude bronze with the most amazing velvet matt finish I’ve ever seen. I love it! And because of this I usually use this lipliner on its own. Yes, I use it instead of a lipstick. And all I need is a bit of lip balm as a base, and then I can start filling in my lips with this lipliner.

Sure, filling in my lips with lipliner takes a little longer than applying lipstick. But once my lips are filled in, I don’t need to blot, I don’t need to layer, I don’t need to do anything else at all! So I think applying lipliner doesn’t take much longer than applying lipstick. In addition, this lipliner usually lasts all day on me. On the rare occasion that it doesn’t, I can give my lips a quick and easy touch-up. 🙂

I would definitely recommend you buy at least one Astor lipliner and nail polish duo pack the next time you’re at your local discount store. But before you switch to your new lipliner-only-routine, make sure you use lip balm to keep your lips soft at all times. If your lips are dry, the lipliner will settle in the lines which, obviously, isn’t a good look. But if you’re a lip balm addict (I am!), you’ll be fine. 🙂

Freedom MakeUp London – Pro Lipstick Bare 115 Mannequin

Hi there! I got myself Freedom’s Pro Lipstick Bare Collection (5 lipsticks) before Christmas. And I’ve only opened it a few days ago. The first lipstick I tried was Freedom MakeUp’s Pro Lipstick Bare 115 Mannequin.

I like my nude/neutral/natural lipstick colours a bit darker – and since 115 is the darkest shade in the Bare Collection, it was destined to be my first victim. 😀
Freedom Bare Lipstick 115 Mannequin
115 Mannequin is a light brown shade with a creamy finish. I like the colour, and I think it suits my skin tone. However, I was hoping this lipstick would be a bit darker. That’s because all the other Bare Collection lippies are lighter, and now I’m thinking I might not even touch the lighter ones… But I’ll report back once I’ve tested the next lighter shade. 🙂

In regards to quality, this isn’t what I’d expect a ‘professional’ lipstick to be like. Whilst this lipstick is nicely pigmented, it doesn’t last very long. So yes, it’s clear this is a cheap lipstick. I will definitely continue to use this beautiful lippie, but I know I’ll have to have it with me because it does require very regular touch-ups.

Freedom MakeUp’s Pro Lipstick Bare 115 Mannequin lipstick is available for £1. It’s also part of Freedom’s Bare Lipstick Collection which is £5.

UNE Casual Matt Colour Rouge Demi-Mat Lipstick M18

Hi there! I haven’t done many posts about colour cosmetics recently, so here’s a quick review of one of my favourite lippies: UNE Casual Matt Lipstick M18. As the name suggests, this is a matte, or rather semi-matte lipstick. I really love the texture of this lippie because it feels like velvet on the lips.

M18 is a gorgeous brownish nude shade which would suit almost everyone. I love the colour because it’s one of those ‘your lips, but better’ shades. It’s perfect for all occasions because it’s a timeless shade that will always look good, and it goes with a natural look or with a dramatic eye make-up. It’s a real beauty weapon! 🙂
Une Casual Matt Lipstick M18 2

UNE is part of Bourjois. UNE products used to be available at Boots and Superdrug stores a few years ago, but now UNE products are available at Whole Foods and a few online retailers only. I’m not sure why, but I guess it may have to do with the brand’s all natural image (I may be totally wrong, though).

I cannot recommend UNE’s Casual Matt lipsticks enough. They’re worth every penny (prices vary from £2 to £10 depending on where you shop) and they truly deserve 11 stars!
