Revlon CustomEyes 010 Sweet Innocence, NYC Metro Quartet Eyeshadow 816A Chelsea Chic

Hi there! Today’s post is about 2 small eyeshadow compacts – Revlon CustomEyes 010 Sweet Innocence and NYC Metro Quartet Eyeshadow 816A Chelsea Chic. Let’s take a look at Revlon CustomEyes 010 Sweet Innocence first!

Sweet Innocence is a cute looking little compact. The 5 shades are dark grey, peachy nude, champagne, dusty plum and vintage pink.

I’ve done a few looks with this palette, but I found the quality of the eyeshadows to be poor. They were chalky, it was impossible to build them up, and they didn’t blend.

After the disappointing experience with the Revlon eyeshadows, I tried NYC Metro Quartet Eyeshadow 816A Chelsea Chic.

This little eye palette contains 4 shades: a pale gunpowder, a medium chocolate brown, a frosty baby pink, and a light brown tinted grey.

I’ve done a few looks with this eyeshadows as well, and I think that the pale gunpowder and the brownish grey were alright. The chocolate brown shade was extremely chalky, and I didn’t care for the frosty pink.

Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend these small eye palettes (or compacts). I found them at some bargain store (Poundland?), so at least I didn’t spend much money on them.

MUA MakeUp Academy Matte Lipstick Fawn Fancy, NYC Color Instinct Eyeshadow Palette 969 Rooftop Cocktails

Hi there! Today’s post is about a lipstick and a small eyeshadow palette. And I’m starting with this MUA MakeUp Academy Matte Lipstick in the shade Fawn Fancy which was £1.

This lipstick is awful. The shade is nice, but the lipstick is waxy, strangely dry and impossible to apply. It broke off the first time I used it. Not a surprise – I tried a few lipsticks from this line before, and I remember that this happened with at least 2 of them. I don’t think I’ll ever buy a matte lipstick from MUA again. Having said this, their creamy lipsticks (which are also £1 only) are lovely!

Onto this NYC Color Instinct Eyeshadow Palette 969 Rooftop Cocktails which was 99p at Fragrance Direct.

This is a small eye palette that contains 4 eyeshadows – a dusty lavender, a light blue, a light green, and a pale champagne highlighter shade.

I bought this palette a while ago, but I never used it until I gave it a try a few weeks ago. The dusty lavender shade is nice, but it’s poorly pigmented. And I didn’t care for the other 3 shades.

Since I have no use for this palette, it’ll be the latest victim of my 6 months early spring declutter.

Max Factor Wild Shadow Pots 20 Golden Amazon, 75 Smouldering Red, 80 Passionate Violet, Essence Blush Up! 10 Heat Wave, NYC New York Color HD Color Trio Eyeshadow 002 Feelin’ Fab, Superdrug B. Vivid Eyeshadow 172 Neptune, 058 Filigree, 139 Regalia

Hi there! Today’s post is about a number of eye and cheek products I’m using at the moment. I don’t want to do a big intro today, so let’s start with the first 3 products – Max Factor Wild Shadow Pots. The shades are 20 Golden Amazon, 75 Smouldering Red and 80 Passionate Violet.

I like these 3 eyeshadows a lot, and I’m glad I was able to pick them up for £1 each (Poundland). I’m very happy with the quality of these eyeshadows!

And here are the swatches! 20 Golden Amazon is a bright shimmery gold, 75 Smouldering Red is a cute rosey shade with a light shimmer, and 80 Passionate Violet is a very sparkly violet shade with wannabe-holographic hues.

Up next is a beautiful blush – Essence Blush Up! 10 Heat Wave! This is a powder blush that I’ve had for a while, but I only started to use it recently.

The blush looks pretty, and the quality is fantastic too. The blush is easy to blend, and it’s highly pigmented, so a little goes a long way.  And I love the coral-to-raspberry shade(s).

I tried to capture the beautiful gradient in my swatch. It wasn’t easy, and I could have done better, but I think I did just well enough. It’s a powder blush after all!

And I started to use one of the cheap NYC compacts I found at Poundland. This one’s NYC New York Color HD Color Trio Eyeshadow 002 Feelin’ Fab.

The trio contains 3 eyeshadows – a glittery silver shade which isn’t for everyday wear, a soft shimmery bronze which is very pretty and lovely to wear, and a blue-to-violet shade which, to be perfectly honest, was disappointing because it’s poorly pigmented. By the time this post is published, this eyeshadow will have been repurposed (mixed with a blue nail polish to make stamping polish).

And there are 3 more single eyeshadows – Superdrug B. Vivid Eyeshadow 172 Neptune, 058 Filigree and 139 Regalia.

I purchased these eyeshadows when they were 10p each (clearance), and I actually bought 3 of each colour – that’s 9 single eyeshadows for 90p in total! 🤪

172 Neptune is a shimmery royal blue shade, 058 Filigree is a beautiful golden olive shimmer and 139 Regalia is a matte purple eyeshadow. Unfortunately, Regalia is quite a stinker. It doesn’t stick to anything, and it cannot be used as an eyeshadow at all. This is another product which, by the time you read this post, will have found a new life as a stamping polish!

And this is it for today! I enjoyed reviewing a number of products in 1 post. I hope you like the format too, because I will continue to do this for products like eyeshadows, blushes, lip balms and the likes.

Have you tried any of these products? Or would you like to try them? Feel free to comment, and thanks for reading!

NYC Metro Quartet Eye Shadow 796B Queens Boulevard

Hi there! Today’s post is about a little eyeshadow palette which I bought a while ago. It’s NYC Metro Quartet Eye Shadow 796B Queens Boulevard. I picked it up from a local bargain store (can’t remember which one) for either 99p or £1. In other words – it was super cheap, and I couldn’t resist. 🙂
NYC Metro Quartet Eyeshadow 796B Queens Boulevard 3
As you can see, this eye palette is a small compact that comes with a tiny double-ended sponge applicator. And there are four eyeshadows in this palette. Shade 1 is a shimmery taupe. Shade 2 is a mix of blue and violet. Shade 3 is a shimmery champagne colour (highlighter). And shade 4 is a violet-tinted fuchsia.

The eyeshadows blend nicely, but they’re not very well pigmented. However, I really like the shades, so I don’t mind putting a little more effort into my eye make-up. And since this eye palette was £1 only, I can’t really complain. 🙂

Oh, and here’s a photo of what the eye palette looked like before I opened it!
