Empties – April 2019

Hi there! It’s 1 May, and this means that it’s time for my April Empties post. I used quite a few single-use face masks, but I also finished quite a few big bottles! And here they are…

1 Olay Essentials Complete Care Day Fluid – this is a truly wonderful moisturiser that I would recommend without hesitation.

2 Boots Garden Collection Lavender Body Wash (travel size) – a nice body wash that I would like to buy again.

3 Boots Garden Collection Lavender Body Lotion (travel size) – this is a lovely body lotion. I’d love to repurchase this one too!

4 Dove Go Fresh Nectatine & White Ginger Shower – this is an all-time favourite shower gel. It’s discontinued, but I have 4 more bottles in my stash!

5 Classics Nail Polish Remover – my go-to nail polish remover. 400ml for £1 at Poundland and other bargain stores.

6 Garnier Body Repair Anti-Dryness Restoring Lotion – a lovely moisturiser that I will buy again for sure!

7 Sante Naturkosmetik Instantly Smoothing Night Cream – I’m glad this night cream is gone. It’s one of the worst moisturisers I’ve ever tried. Good riddance!

8 I Love… Chocolate Truffle Refreshing Body Spritzer – this is a lovely body spray that really smells of chocolate truffles! Too bad it was a limited edition, otherwise I’d buy it again!

9 Maybelline Eyeliner Chestnut – I have several more of these in my rota. These eyeliners are really nice.

10 Astor Lipliner Pencil 014 Bronze – I love these lipliners. I have quite a few more of these!

11 Max Factor Pan Stik 25 Fair – my holy grail foundation!

12 Boots No 7 Protect & Perfume Intense Advanced Serum – this is a fantastic serum, and I will repurchase it, no doubt!

13 Hair Repair Rejuvenating Conditioner – a surprisingly nice conditioner. Another product that I’d like to repurchase!

14 Imperial Leather Paradise Island Bath Cream – this stuff smells amazing. I think I have another bottle or 2 of these in my stash.

15 Original Source Orange Shower Gel – another nice shower gel that I can see myself picking up again.

This is everything I emptied in April. I think I’ve done well last month! I hope I can continue to empty many more bottles, tubes and tubs over the next few months!

Olay Essentials Complete Care Plus Multiradiance Moisturising Lotion

Hi there! Today’s post is about the moisturiser that I’ve been using since the end of July – Olay Essentials Complete Care Multiradiance Moisturising Lotion.

This product contains vitamins B3, E and pro-vitamin B5, and it promises 24-hour hydration, protection from sun exposure (SPF 15) and more radiant looking skin.
Olay Essentials Multi Radiance Cream
I’ve been using this moisturiser for quite some time now, and I think it’s awesome! It makes my skin feel soft and well hydrated, and it’s a perfect base for make-up. I also love the light-reflecting particles in this moisturiser because they really give my skin a healthy looking glow! Another thing I love about this moisturier is its subtle & sunny mandarin fragrance – to me it smells like a sunrise in Palermo.

I would recommend this moisturiser to everyone! Olay Essentials Complete Care Multiradiance Moisturising Lotion is available as 75ml for £10. I paid £4.50 (better than half price offer, Asda).

Olay 2 In 1 Hydration + SPF 15 Lightweight Lotion

Hi there! I found this cute looking new Olay 2 In 1 Hydration + SPF Lightweight Lotion when I swung by my local Superdrug the other day. It was £2.95 only, so I bought it! I was really intrigued because the lotion looked like a combination of two of my favourite Olay products!

The bottle reminded me of Olay’s Complete Day Fluid (which has been my favourite moisturiser for about ten years). And the pink packaging made me think of Olay’s 2 In 1 Hydration + Radiant Glow moisturiser (which smells divine). Now let’s see what this product is really like!
Olay Pink SPF
This Lightweight Lotion is really lovely. The formula reminds me very much of Olay’s Complete Day Fluid (I checked the ingredients – it’s not the same, but similar!). This means you get tons of lightweight moisture.

Plus: This lotion doesn’t clog pores and it feels really nice on my skin. I can reapply this lotion every couple of hours if I want to (I moisturise like a maniac every Sunday!) and it doesn’t rub off. It’s also worth mentioning that this lotion contains SPF15 and it sits great under make-up. Excellent quality!

Scent-wise this lotion is a mix of Olay’s Complete Day Fluid and the original Olay Beauty Fluid. It’s a gorgeous, subtle and ‘happy’ scent which goes well with the pink theme of the product. I love it!

If you look for a light moisturiser with SPF, I would recommend this one without hesitating. Olay 2 In 1 Hydration + SPF Lightweight Lotion is exlusive to Superdrug. It’s available as 100ml for £5.99 (RRP). At the moment Superdrug has a BOGOF offer on selected Olay products.

Beauty Haul – Sleek Palettes A New Day, All Night Long & Enchanted Forest, Olay Anti-Wrinkle Gift Set

Hi there! Sleek launched two new palettes in February – A New Day and All Night Long. So I was waiting for the next 3 for 2 deal to get my hands on these two palettes and the Enchanted Forest palette from last autumn. Both Boots and Superdrug run a 3 for 2 promotion at the moment – that’s why these three palettes are mine now! 🙂
Sleek Haul 1
Now let’s have a closer look at the A New Day palette below. It bursts with wearable neutral shades. I love it!
Sleek Haul A New Day 1
The All Night Long palette below is just as pretty as the A New Day palette. It’s full of very wearable eyeshadows. Perfect!
Sleek Haul All Night Long 1
I’ve been lusting after the Enchanted Forest palette for a few months now. I know it’s not an expensive palette. But considering all the beauty stuff I’ve got, I couldn’t justify buying more palettes. However, a 3 for 2 offer is my licence to go nuts. 🙂 Anyway, isn’t the Enchanted Forest palette incredibly pretty?
Sleek Haul Enchanted Forest 1
And the super star of my shopping spree is Olay’s Anti-Wrinkle gift set. It contains Olay’s Firm & Lift Day Cream (50ml = full size) and a pocket mirror. This gift set was £5 only at Tesco’s!
Olay Gift Set 2
I haven’t used these products yet. But as soon as I’ve tried them, I’ll review them all. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

Olay Regenerist Regenerating UV Lotion

Hi there! Today’s post is about my current moisturiser – Olay Regenerist Regenerating UV Lotion. This product claims to exfoliate, smooth and brighten skin, to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, to regenerate cells in the skin’s outer layer and to protect skin from the sun.

In summary, this product promises quite a lot! But does it keep its promises? YES, it does! I’ve been using it for three weeks now and I’m blown away. If you’d like to know more, then read on. 🙂
Olay Regenerist Regenerating UV Lotion
When I started using this product, I was aware that it’s a lot more powerful than Olay’s Complete range. So I was careful when I applied it around my eyes. But I shouldn’t have worried because everything was and is fine. No stinging or burning, no redness, no irritation. Perfect!

I love the formula of this moisturiser. It’s light and non-greasy, it sits perfectly under my make-up, and it feels amazing. It makes my skin feel smooth and soft. And thanks to this product I understand what an exfoliating moisturiser does! I don’t understand the ‘how’ though. 🙂

Another thing I want to mention is that, with this product, I can feel a gentle firming / lifting sensation on my skin. It starts about 10 to 20 minutes after I’ve applied the product and it stays for several hours – almost an entire day. But it’s not like something’s pulling my skin. It’s a very pleasant sensation!

Based on my experience using this product for the past three weeks I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. I’ve got sensitive and dry skin, and I’m a long-term eczema sufferer, but this moisturiser didn’t give me any trouble at all. I will definitely buy this moisturiser again!

Olay Regenerist Regenerating UV Lotion is available as 75ml bottle for £21.99. The drugstores and supermarkets run promotions all the time. I only paid £9.99 for my bottle!

Olay Anti-Wrinkle Instant Hydration + Wrinkle Smoother

Olay Instant Hydration Wrinkle SmootherHi there! Since it’s mission in life to try every Olay product out there, I bought this Olay Anti-Wrinkle Instant Hydration + Wrinkle Smoother.

This is a day moisturiser – without SPF. I like my SPF, so I knew this product wouldn’t become a favourite. But I wanted to give it a try nonetheless.

Now what did I find? This product is the exact same thing as Olay’s Instant Hydration + Wrinkle Blur!

I should have known! The packaging is almost identical, and the only differences are the colour of the box and bottles (blue/white and pink/white, respectively) and the name (wrinkle smoother and wrinkle blur).

Everything else is the same! So I can only come to the same conclusions as last time – when I used the pink sister product. 🙂

OK, once applied, this moisturiser sinks right into my skin and leaves it looking matte and silky. It’s great under make-up and yes, it does have an instant blurring effect on wrinkles and lines!

Because of the non-greasy formula and the matte finish, this moisturiser would be great for women with oily skin. But at the same time it doubles as a primer for women with dry skin. This moisturiser has primer-like qualities, yet – unlike most ‘real’ primers – it’s not drying at all. So if you want a primer that doesn’t feel like it’s sucking the moisture out of your skin, this product is for you.

Another thing I love about this Olay moisturiser is its fresh and pure scent which I would describe as a mix of water lilies and apples.

But there’s one bit that I’m not super happy with – this moisturiser is SPF-free. I love my sunscreen, but if you prefer SPF-free face creams and moisturisers, this one is definitely worth a try.

Olay Anti-Wrinkle Instant Hydration & Wrinkle Smoother is available as 50 ml for £9.99. But it’s currently half price at Boots and Superdrug- so it’s £4.99 only!

Olay Complete Day Cream

Hi there! If you read my last beauty haul post, you know I bought a beautiful Olay gift set with a compact mirror and a full size 50 ml Olay Compete Day Cream. I’ve said it before – I’m a total Olay nut. And it’s my mission in life to try all the Olay products out there. 🙂

I had this face cream before, but that was ages ago and quite some time before I fell in love with Olay’s Complete Day Fluid. So I had another look at Olay’s regular Complete Face Cream.
Olay Complete Care Day Cream 2
This face cream is for women with normal and dry skin. It has SPF15 which is great for those of us who don’t want to bother with ‘real’ sunscreen all the time. I’m very happy with how well this face cream moisturises my skin and how gentle it is. I’m not the most careful person and I already got the product in my eyes by accident on a few occasions, but it didn’t sting or burn at all. Great stuff!

Olay’s Complete face cream doesn’t clog my pores at all. My skin feels moisturised, but it can still breathe. It feels great on my skin. I love it! I also adore the light fragrance (the same one they use for the day fluid) which is sunny, yellow, youthful, pure and happy!

Whilst I still prefer the fluid formula, I will definitely buy this face cream again. I think it would be great to use it during the colder seasons when my skin is quite dry. Saying this, the cream is perfectly suitable for the warmer seasons – and if you’ve had it before, I’m sure you will agree.

Olay Complete Day Cream is available as 50 ml for about £10 – but there is always a half price or BOGOF offer somewhere. I think this is a great face cream and I would definitely recommend it.

Olay Total Effects CC Cream Complexion Corrector

Olay Total Effects CC CreamHi there! Some of you may remember that I’m a total Olay nut – so it was only natural that I picked up Olay’s CC Cream Complexion Corrector when I found it for half price.

I’ve read dozens of reviews about this product after I bought it, and a lot of reviewers said that they didn’t like this moisturiser, so I was hesitant to try it.

However, I tried it and I like it! And here’s why: Olay’s CC Cream feels smooth and silky on my skin, and it moisturises very well. As someone with dry skin I’m very happy with this product, but I can see that women with oily skin might prefer a lighter moisturiser.

I think Olay’s CC Cream is a great base for make-up and it also doubles as a primer which saves time and money! I’m very happy about this.

Saying this, I understand why some of the reviewers didn’t like this moisturiser. I have to say that it’s difficult to apply this CC cream evenly. So I usually end up with a few darker patches on my face. Because of this I wouldn’t recommend this CC Cream if you don’t intend to wear make-up on top of it.

However, if you use a foundation after moisturising and if you don’t have oily skin, you’ll love the result! I think that Olay’s CC Cream really makes my make-up last longer. I guess it’s the rich, moisturising formula that helps make-up hold on to dry skin.

In summary, I’m very happy with this product and I’m sure I’ll buy it again. This CC Cream feels amazing on my skin, it smells nice and it’s got SPF 15 – what’s not to like?

If you’d like to try Olay’s Total Effects CC Cream Complexion Corrector, it’s £14.99 at the big supermarket’s and drugstores. I got my bottle for half price, so I recommend you compare prices online before buying. 😉

Olay Anti-Wrinkle 2 in 1 Instant Hydration + Radiant Glow

Hi there! My quest to try as many Olay products as possible led me to this limited edition: Olay Anti-Wrinkle Instant Hydration + Radiant Glow. Let me tell you right away that this daily moisturiser is that good that I’ve already bought two backup bottles. 🙂
Olay Anti-Wrinkle Pink
Honestly, if it wasn’t a limited edition, this moisturiser would become a beauty staple. It has and does everything I could ask for: The formula is silky and non-sticky. It makes my dry skin feel soft all day long and it’s perfect under make-up. It has SPF 15 and its sweet mandarin scent is absolutely divine.

I strongly recommend this product if you look for a no-fuss daily moisturiser. Olay Anti-Wrinkle Instant Hydration + Radiant Glow is exclusive to Superdrug. It’s available as 75 ml and it’s currently on sale for £4.95 only!

Olay Anti-Wrinkle Nature Fusion Anti-Ageing Day Fluid

Hi there! I’m still working my way through Olay’s beauty assortment. Whilst I have found my favourite moisturiser, I can’t stop trying all of Olay’s offerings. 🙂 So for the past week I have used Olay Anti-Wrinkle Nature Fusion Anti-Ageing Day Fluid (What a name!) and I’m ready to review the product.

Let me tell you right away that this moisturiser is nice enough, but it will not become one of my beauty staples. My husband seems to like it though! If you read on, I’ll tell you why it’s not perfect for me, but why my husband is quite fond of it.
Olay Nature Fusion
This Olay Nature Fusion Day Fluid is a light moisturiser with SPF. I think it’s great for summer because it doesn’t clog pores, and it will please ladies with normal or oily skin because the formula is not too rich. The clean and green scent highlights the ‘nature’ theme of this product.

However, I’ve got dry skin and I think this day fluid is simply not enough for my skin-type. I also prefer ‘yellow’ scents, so the leafy green scent of this moisturiser is not my favourite. Whilst I won’t be buying this product for myself again, my husband likes to use it on his face because…

… he has rather oily skin and this moisturiser is perfect for him because it doesn’t give his face an oily shine. He also likes the green scent because it’s rather unisex. And he is happy that this moisturiser contains SPF, so he doesn’t have to worry about the sun burning his pale skin.

In summary, this moisturiser is not for me, but I’m glad that my husband not only uses it because someone has to, but because he really likes the product. If you would like to try Olay Anti-Wrinkle Nature Fusion Anti-Ageing Day Fluid, the 100 ml bottle is £10, but there is always a half price or BOGOF offer somewhere.
