Empties – August 2022

Hi there! Today’s post is about all the products I finished last month. I don’t feel like doing a big intro, so here they are:

1 Salvador Dali Dalissime Eau De Toilette – one of my all-time favourite fragrances. I have another bottle in my stash. 😍

2 Garnier Pure Active Intensive Charcoal Scrub – another Garnier product I won’t repurchase. This scrub is too basic.

3 Boots Glow Banana Toner – not the best toner for me. I won’t buy it again.

4 The Body Shop Neroli Jasmin Body Lotion – one of the best body lotions ever. EVER. Unfortunately, this amazing fragrance has been discontinued. But I have 1 more body lotion, 2 shower gels and 1 eau de toilette with the beautiful Neroli Jasmin fragrance left in my stash! 😍

5 Garnier Skin Active Soothing Botanical Cleansing Milk With Rose Water – this cleanser is OK but not great. I wouldn’t buy it again.

6 Olay Complete Lightweight Day Fluid – an all-time favourite beauty staple. I would always be more than happy to buy this amazing moisturiser again.

7 Palmolive Aroma Therapy Absolute Relax – one of my all-time favourites! I have a few more of these!

8 Imperial Leather You Are My Sunshine Rainbow Rose & Raspberry Kisses Icons Shower Gel – a nice shower gel. A limited edition, unfortunately.

9 Treacle Moon The Honeycomb Secret Bath And Shower Gel – my husband loves this shower and bath gel just as much as I do. In fact, he’s been using most of it. A definite repurchase.

9 Palmolive Hidden Heaven Shower Gel – I love this shower gel! A definite repurchase!

10 Pantene Pro-V Miracles Silky & Glowing Biotin & Hydrolised Silk Protein Conditioner – not the best conditioner for my hair type. This shampoo and conditioner combo gave me crunchy hair. Its tagline could be “A crunch fest with every wash.” Repurchase? Absolutely not!

12 Morrisons Revive Pink Grapefruit & Basil Extracts Shower Gel – this shower gel is too basic. I won’t buy it again.

I did well again in August. Hopefully I can keep it up over the next few months!

Empties – April 2019

Hi there! It’s 1 May, and this means that it’s time for my April Empties post. I used quite a few single-use face masks, but I also finished quite a few big bottles! And here they are…

1 Olay Essentials Complete Care Day Fluid – this is a truly wonderful moisturiser that I would recommend without hesitation.

2 Boots Garden Collection Lavender Body Wash (travel size) – a nice body wash that I would like to buy again.

3 Boots Garden Collection Lavender Body Lotion (travel size) – this is a lovely body lotion. I’d love to repurchase this one too!

4 Dove Go Fresh Nectatine & White Ginger Shower – this is an all-time favourite shower gel. It’s discontinued, but I have 4 more bottles in my stash!

5 Classics Nail Polish Remover – my go-to nail polish remover. 400ml for £1 at Poundland and other bargain stores.

6 Garnier Body Repair Anti-Dryness Restoring Lotion – a lovely moisturiser that I will buy again for sure!

7 Sante Naturkosmetik Instantly Smoothing Night Cream – I’m glad this night cream is gone. It’s one of the worst moisturisers I’ve ever tried. Good riddance!

8 I Love… Chocolate Truffle Refreshing Body Spritzer – this is a lovely body spray that really smells of chocolate truffles! Too bad it was a limited edition, otherwise I’d buy it again!

9 Maybelline Eyeliner Chestnut – I have several more of these in my rota. These eyeliners are really nice.

10 Astor Lipliner Pencil 014 Bronze – I love these lipliners. I have quite a few more of these!

11 Max Factor Pan Stik 25 Fair – my holy grail foundation!

12 Boots No 7 Protect & Perfume Intense Advanced Serum – this is a fantastic serum, and I will repurchase it, no doubt!

13 Hair Repair Rejuvenating Conditioner – a surprisingly nice conditioner. Another product that I’d like to repurchase!

14 Imperial Leather Paradise Island Bath Cream – this stuff smells amazing. I think I have another bottle or 2 of these in my stash.

15 Original Source Orange Shower Gel – another nice shower gel that I can see myself picking up again.

This is everything I emptied in April. I think I’ve done well last month! I hope I can continue to empty many more bottles, tubes and tubs over the next few months!

Empties – November 2016

Hi there! After yesterday’s monthly favourites post, today’s post is about last month’s empties. As always, I used several face masks, and I also used up basics like cosmetic pads (which I never thought of mentioning before – and I might not do it again – who knows…). And I threw out one old eyeshadow brush. But now let’s get to the bulky empties, the REAL empties! 🙂
empties-112016-2
1 Herbal Essence Silk N’ Shine Conditioner – the BEST conditioner ever. Ladies with thick, long or curly hair will appreciate this conditioner the most! I have lots of back-up bottles, but I’ll continue to buy the (pink and yellow) Herbal Essences Classics hair products. If you’re wondering what happened to the shampoo, my husband is using it up. Whenever I finish a conditioner, I pass the matching shampoo on to my husband.

2 Yardley Invigorating Blue Orchid Hydrating & Enrichting Body Lotion – not great. My husband and I used this one as a foot lotion. So this one is a shared empty. Repurchase? No!

3 Classics Nail Polish Remover – my favourite nail polish remover. 400ml for £1. You can’t find a great nail polish remover for less than that. I’ll repurchase this product – and I’ll always have at least one back-up bottle.

4 Olay Essentials Complete Care Day Fluid – my favourite moisturiser! I always buy the big 200ml bottles. And yes, I have a back-up bottle! 🙂

5 I Love… Choca Mocha lala Shower – this is the ultimate hot chocolate shower gel. I started to use this shower gel this spring, then ignored it this summer, but I used it again when it got colder. And now I’ve finished it. Too bad it’s been discontinued, so I can’t repurchase it. I need to try I Love…’s current chocolate fudge shower gel – hopefully it’s the same – or at least similar!

6 Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Care All Over Body Cream With Manuka Honey – this body cream is simply fantastic. It should be a permanent item in Superdrug’s Vitamin E collection. I can’t repurchase this cream because it was a limited edition, but I have two back-up tubs!
empties-112016-3
7 Kenzo Amour Florale Body Lotion – I got this body lotion as part of a gift set. It’s a nice floral fragrance but it’s nothing like the original Kenzo Amour. I did like this body lotion because it hydrated my skin well. It was nice while it lasted but I wouldn’t buy it again.

8 Olay Anti-Wrinkle 2 In 1 Firm & Lift Anti-Wrinkle Booster + Firming Serum – I love this stuff. It’s… perfect. I’ve already repurchased it. 🙂

9 Anna Sui Secret Wish Magic Romance 75ml EdT – a nice and inoffensive office fragrance. It’s not very special, but certainly pleasant. It smells like a floral and less cool version of D&G Light Blue, although this one isn’t as powerful as Light Blue, and it only lasts a few hours on me. I bought this fragrance on a whim a few years ago. It was nice while it lasted, but I wouldn’t buy it again.

10 The Red Forest Moonlight Raspberry Body Lotion – this body lotion was OK but not very memorable. The ‘moonlight raspberry’ fragrance smelled more like a mix of roses and waterlilies. This was a limited edition product (from a gift set). I don’t think I’d buy it again even if I could.

11 The Body Shop Vanilla Body Lotion – this body lotion was OK but it was nothing special. I’ve had better moisturisers from the drugstore. This body lotion has been discontinued. But I wouldn’t buy it again anyway.

12 Superdrug Shea Butter & Bamboo – a nice shower gel. It smells like caramel. I will buy it again, no doubt.

So this is what I emptied last month. I didn’t empty as many products as I hoped I would, but that’s OK. At the moment I have all these big 500ml bottles in the shower, I have a few more fragrances which are near empty, and I’m using different skin care products in a rota – and I know I’ll emtpy at least two of them within one week from now. So I think I’ll have more empties this month! 🙂

Oh, and I’ll be using up lots of foundations over the next few months. I realised I’ve been using six different Max Factor Pan Stiks (2 different shades) for the past six months or so – and I expect to finish them all (one at a time, of course) in the next 2 to 3 months.

Have you used any of these products? Feel free to get in touch. And thanks for reading! 🙂

Olay Essentials Complete Care Day Fluid

Hi there! Today I want to tell you why this moisturiser has been my favourite for almost ten years. Olay Essentials Complete Care Day Fluid is definitely one of the best (Maybe even THE best?) facial moisturisers you can buy for less than a fiver. It’s for normal and oily skin, but it works for my dry and sensitive skin too.

I love the formula – it’s a light fluid that is easily absorbed and therefore it’s a perfect base for make-up. It’s also not greasy, so it doesn’t clog pores. And if you’ve got a really-dry-skin-day, you can use it every couple of hours because it doesn’t build up on the skin – it sinks right in! I also love that it’s got SPF 15 which means that I don’t have to bother with ‘real’ sunscreen every time I leave the house on a sunny summer day.

And then there’s this gorgeous (yet subtle) scent that I have fallen in love with the first time I have used this fluid. I would describe this scent as youthful, clean, pure, fresh, yellow and sunny. Even now, years later, this wonderful scent still puts a smile on my face – every day. But wait, there’s more!
Olay complete care fluid
Olay Complete Care has taken care of lines and wrinkles which I’ve had since I was a teenager. I can’t tell you if it took six months, a year or longer for the lines to disappear, but it’s a fact that now, at the age of 33, I no longer have certain lines and wrinkles which I’ve had around 15 years ago.

To sum it up: I could rave about this product for hours and I cannot recommend it enough. I think Olay Complete Care day fluid is the perfect no-fuss facial moisturiser for all women between 13 and 113. If you haven’t already tried it, then you should give it a try now! 😉

Olay Essentials Complete Care Day Fluid is available as 100 ml and 200 ml. (I always buy the 200 ml bottle which lasts me for six months.) The 100 ml bottle retails for £6, the 200 ml bottle is yours for £10. However, there’s always a half price or buy one get one free offer at some drugstore or supermarket. This means the 100 ml bottle can be yours for £3, or you can buy the 200 ml bottle for £5.

If you think you would love to try it, but would prefer a moisturiser with more active anti-wrinkle properties, I recommend you try this Olay day lotion.
