Empties – November 2021

Hi there! It’s the first day of a new month, so this means that today’s post is about last month’s beauty trash = November’s empties. I used a bunch of single use face masks, and you can read about my latest face mask finds if you click here. Now let’s look at the big bottles and tubs and…

1 Radox Blueberry Scent Bath Bomb (no photo) – this was a single-use bath bomb, hence no photo. I enjoyed this bath bomb, and I might buy it again.

2 Original Source Green Banana & Bamboo Milk Moisturising Shower Milk – this is a really nice shower gel! I’d buy it again, but unfortunately, it was discontinued.

3 Radox Muscle Relax Bath Salts With Peppermint Scent – I used them twice and didn’t care for them. My husband used most of these salts, but he also didn’t love them. I won’t buy these bath salts again.

4 Max Factor Pan Stik 12 True Beige – my all-time favourite foundation! I have a few more of these!

5 Superdrug Layering Lab Paradise Body Mist – I liked this one a lot, and I will buy it again.

6 Valjean Labs Restore Facial Serum – a decent serum. Not groundbreaking though. I won’t repurchase it.

7 Boots No7 Total Renewal Micro-Dermabrasion Exfoliator – this is a very nice product. I will buy it again, no doubt.

8 Patisserie De Bain Mango Sorbet Hand Cream – a decent hand cream. Repurchase-worthy.

9 Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream – this is the US version of the cream, and I didn’t like it as much as the UK version. This one isn’t very moisturising, unfortunately.

10 Palmolive Aroma Therapy Absolute Relax – an all-time holy grail shower gel. I have a few more of these.

11 L’Oréal Elvive Colour Protect Caring Conditioner – a very nice conditioner! I have another shampoo and conditioner combo in my stash.

12 Westlab Dead Sea Salt Soothing Bath & Shower Gel – a nice shower gel. I can see myself buying it again.

November wasn’t a bad month for empties. I hope I can keep the streak going and finish the year with at least 12 more products (aiming for a few more, though…). Fingers crossed!

April Beauty Awards

Hi there! And welcome to this month’s Beauty Awards! April 2017 is almost over, so it’s time for my monthly favourites post. As always, I’ve chosen 3 favourites of all the products I’ve reviewed this month, and I’ve also thrown in a few honourable mentions. Now onto the favourites!

3rd place – Olay Hydration Balancing + Purifying Cleansing 2 In 1 Refreshing Face Wash
Runner-Up – Boots Extracts Body Sprays – Sweet Mango & Luscious Vanilla

I only paid £1.45 for this Olay face wash, so I’m extremely happy that it turned out to be such a fantastic product! I also love these two Boots Extracts Body Sprays. They smell great!

WINNER – Olay Regenerist Luminous Skin Tone Perfecting Moisturiser

Olay’s Regenerist Luminous Skin Tone Perfecting Moisturiser is just great. I already bought a back-up!

Now onto the honourable mentions! I really enjoyed Montagne Jeunesse’s Buttercream Dream Mud face mask, and I think Superdrug’s Yoghurt Smoothie Mask is very good too. I Love…’s Yummy Caramel products were a nice surprise, and L’Oréal’s Skin Perfection Correcting Concentrated Serum is another good product that’s worth mentioning.

Have you tried any of these products? If so, how did you like them? And which products did you like this month? Feel free to comment. And thanks for stopping by! 🙂

Olay Regenerist Luminous Skin Tone Perfecting Cream Moisturiser

Hi there! Today’s post is about Olay’s Regenerist Luminous Skin Tone Perfecting Cream Moisturiser which I’ve been using since early March. In summary, this face cream promises to brighten, exfoliate and smooth skin, to reduce the appearance of dark spots over time, and to regenerate the skin’s appearance for a healthy and luminous complexion. In addition, this face cream promises younger looking skin in two weeks! Now let me tell you more…

First of all, this cream doesn’t contain sunscreen, so I’m using it as a night cream only. And guess what, it’s a great night cream! I don’t think I look any younger than a month ago. However, for the past couple of weeks I’ve woken up to a fresh and well-rested looking face, which is as amazing as it is unusual because even though I have to get up at 5:30 every weekday now, I never go to bed before midnight…

So based on my experience I’m satisfied that this Olay moisturiser does quite a lot! Yes, it exfoliates, and it does make my skin feel smooth. And I have no doubt that it somehow regenerates my skin’s appearance because my skin does look fantastic now! Thank you, Olay!

I would definitely recommend Olay’s Regenerist Luminous Skin Tone Perfecting Cream Moisturiser. It’s £29.99 for 50ml, so it’s one of Olay’s most expensive products. However, I only paid £14.99 (half price offer). So don’t forget to compare prices! Oh, and I’ve already bought a back-up which, by the way, was only £9.99.

Have you tried this product? If so, what do you think? Feel free to get in touch. And thanks for stopping by! 🙂

Olay Regenerist Luminous Dark Circle Correcting Eye Swirl

Olay Regenerist Eye SwirlHi there! I’ve been using this Olay Regenerist Luminous Dark Circle Correcting Eye Swirl for about four weeks – and now’s the time to share my findings. So let’s start!

This eye cream glides on smoothly and it hydrates my under-eye area nicely.

I can see that it makes lines appear less pronounced, but this effect is only temporary. When I cleanse my face and don’t reapply the cream, I can’t see any difference between now and four weeks ago.

One thing that annoys me is that this eye cream is too rich. It’s not horrible, but it’s just enough to render it unsuitable for wear under make-up. Well, under my make-up, that is.

I use Max Factor’s Pan Stik which doesn’t work with this eye cream. There may not be any problems at all with other foundations, but I’m not changing my (holy grail!) foundation for a non-
essential eye product.

This means that I can only wear this eye cream when I’m not wearing make-up, which is overnight and on the odd day when I’m not leaving the house.

I know you wonder whether this eye cream actually helps with dark circles or not. And my answer is that it helps to a certain extent – whilst the cream is on. The eye cream contains shimmer particles which appear to reflect light; this makes dark circles disappear if you look at your eyes from the right angle.

I’m not sure whether to recommend this product or not. I’ll definitely use it up because it hydrates the skin under my eyes nicely, but I don’t think that I would repurchase this eye cream because I can’t use it under my make-up. I’ll stick to my favourite eye gel!

I know that this product received mixed reviews when it was first launched and I remember a few negative reviews from people who said that this cream would look like under-eye chalk (?) or that it would leave them with glittery skin around their eyes. However, I don’t believe that these reviews are accurate descriptions of this eye cream. And – in all honesty – I am still wondering how much product these people used!

If you would like to try this Olay Regenerist Luminous Dark Circle Correcting Eye Swirl, it’s £29.99 for 15 ml. I bought mine for half price a while ago, so you should check prices online before buying.
