Palmolive So Tempting & Palmolive Be Sensual

Hi there! Today’s post is about 2 Palmolive limited edition shower gels that I picked up at Superdrug – Palmolive So Tempting with poppy and Palmolive Be Sensual with iris.

Palmolive So Tempting with poppy is extremely nice! If you love Flower by Kenzo, this is the shower gel you need to pick up. And if you don’t like Flower by Kenzo because you think it’s too sweet and too dense, this is still the shower gel you need to pick up! This poppy flower scented shower gel smells wonderfully floral, and it has an airy feel to it which makes it perfectly suitable for even the hottest summer days. Awesome stuff!

Palmolive So Sensual with iris is pretty awesome too. The iris fragrance is sweet, warm and natural. If you love Prada’s Infusion d’Iris, this is the shower gel to go with it!

To sum it up, these 2 Palmolive shower gels are sensational. I could kick myself for not trying them sooner! Palmolive So Tempting with poppy and Palmolive Be Sensual with iris are available as 250ml for about £2 each. I bought these shower gels for £1 each (Superdrug, half price offer).

Empties – May 2016

Hi there! Last month’s empties post was really fun, so I collected this month’s empty stuff too. Now here’s what I used up in May 2016.

1 (no photo) 3 Superdrug Dead Sea Purifying Clay Masks & 3 Superdrug Fruit Sorbet Antioxidant Peel-Off Masks – I really love these face masks and I’ll repurchase them again. Sorry, there’s no photo but I didn’t want to keep the empty (and sticky) sachets.

2 Herbal Essences Shimmering Colour Conditioner – this stuff is amazing! I rejoiced when Herbal Essences reintroduced two of their Rainforest Flowers shampoo and conditioner combos in 2013. Unfortunately these products were discontinued again. 😦 I don’t know why – the products are excellent! I have a few more back-up bottles and I’ll do a proper review soon. 🙂 In the meantime, check out my post about the Herbal Essences Classics products – if you’ve never tried them, you really should do it now because they’re the best shampoos and conditioners out there!

3 Classics Nail Polish Remover – I’ve been buying this nail polish remover for years. It’s effective. It doesn’t dry out my nails. It’s cheap (£1 for 400ml). It’s simply great! And this product is made by a UK-based company and it’s not tested on animals. Repurchase? Absolutely!

4 Superdrug Cocoa Butter & Vanilla Body Lotion – a really nice body lotion that smells lovely and moisturises my skin nicely. Good quality, good price. Repurchase? Yes!
Empties 052016 2
5 Olay Total Effects Radiance Enhancing Cream Wash – an amazing face wash! It exfoliates gently – but at the same time it’s creamy. It’s brilliant for dry skin! Too bad this product has been dicontinued.

6 L’Oréal Elvive Colour Protect Conditioner – one of the best conditioners out there, second only to Herbal Essences’ Classics conditioners. Repurchase? Yes! (In case you’re wondering what happened to the shampoo – as soon as I’ve used up a conditioner, my husband will finish the matching shampoo.)

7 Palmolive Oriental Beauty Sophisticated – a really nice shower gel, refreshing and not too harsh on dry skin. And it smells like a mix of tea and flowers. Nice! The product has been discontinued, so I can’t repurchase it. If it were still available, I’d buy it again.
Empties 052016 4
8 L’Eau Par Kenzo Ice Pour Femme (50ml) – a fresh summer fragrance (which I’ll review properly in a few days). This one was a limited edition from a few years ago. But I wouldn’t repurchase it if it were still available – because it no longer tickles my fancy.

9 Kirstie Allsopp Lansdowne Rose Shower Gel – a gentle and pleasant rose-scented shower gel. Perfect in combination with Flower Pharm’s Wild Rose body butter. If it weren’t discontinued, I’d probably buy it again.

10 Yung Haircare Deep Conditioner – this one’s a cheap product from a German drugstore. I bought it years ago (!) but left it untouched until a few months ago. It’s an okayish deep conditioner, nothing special. I wouldn’t repurchase it.
Empties 052016 3
11 Black eyeliner pencil – not sure which brand this is, but I liked this eyeliner pencil. Good quality. Comparable to Essence.

12 Superdrug Animal Mad Lip Balm – I used up one of these last month – and I’ve now used up another one. This lip balm was part of a limited edition set from last autumn so I can’t repurchase it.

13 Thierry Mugler Alien EDP sample – I love Thierry Mugler’s Alien. I’ve got a full size Alien EDP, but whenever there’s an Alien sample in a glossy mag, I’ll use it! Awesome stuff!

14 Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Beauty Serum – I have no idea how old the bottle was when I finally opened it. I used this serum a few years ago when it was introduced. But I never opened the second bottle – until a few months ago. I’ve now been using this serum on and off – and I actually still like it a lot. I’ll give the current version of the product a try and then I’ll report back. 🙂

15 Naturtint Shampoo & Naturtint Nutrideep Multiplier Protective Cream samples – I didn’t like these products. I’d probably use the shampoo if nothing else was available. But I wouldn’t use the protective cream again if you paid me. My last post explains it all…

16 NSPA Raspberry Body Butter – a rich body butter with the pleasant scent of juicy raspberries. I think this body butter smells a lot more natural than some of the considerably more expensive raspberry-scented body butters out there. And it’s only £3. Repurchase? Most likely – as soon as I crave raspberries again.

So this is what I emptied / used up in May 2016. I really enjoyed writing this post – so I’ll definitely make monthly empties a permanent feature. 🙂 Oh, and I’m really proud of myself for using up an eyeliner pencil before losing it. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by! I hope June 2016 will be an awesome month for all of us.

Palmolive Oriental Beauty – Sophisticated & Stimulating

Hi there! I found these Palmolive shower gels at Poundland the other day. I haven’t seen these in a while, so it’s fair to assume they have been discontinued. But since I haven’t had them before, I popped them in my basket.

Now that I’ve used both shower gels, I’ve reached my verdict. And if you read on, you’ll find out what I think about Palmolive Oriental Beauty Sophisticated and Stimulating.
Palmolive Oriental
Sophisticated smells lovely. I’d describe the fragrance as a mix of tea and flowers. It’s not overpowering, it’s rather fresh and pure. I love the overall clean scent of this shower gel – it’s perfect for spring.

Stimulating is not what I hoped for. It’s very spicy and woody. And it’s even stronger than Palmolive’s Argan Oil shower milk which I also didn’t like. It’s gonna take me a while to use it up because I don’t really like the fragrance. But I’m sure I’ll catch another cold – and as soon as this happens, this one will be my go-to shower gel.

Palmolive Oriental Beauty shower gels are available as 250ml for £1 at Poundland (and probably other discount stores).

Palmolive Naturals Shower Milk Ultra Moisturization, Pampering Touch and Smooth Delight

Hi there! Since I enjoy so many Palmolive products, I thought I’d tell you about three more favourites of mine: Palmolive Ultra Moisturisation with Olive and Moisturising Milk, Palmolive Pampering Touch with Coconut and Moisturising Milk, and Palmolive Smooth Delight with Macadamia Oil, Cocoa and, of course, Moisturising Milk.
Palmolive shower milk
The olive shower cream is addictive – in a good way. I love the warm, yet green fragrance, and I think this shower gel is perfect for all seasons. It’s green enough to feel refreshing on a warm summer day, but it’s also rich and comforting on a wintry day. Lovely!

The coconut shower cream smells absolutely divine. I think it doesn’t smell like coconut at all – but that’s a good thing in my book. 🙂 I can’t describe the fragrance but I’d say it’s tropical, warm, sensual and fresh – all at the same time. Perfect!

The macadamia shower cream is a new favourite of mine. It smells warm, sweet and nutty – almost like a cake or a dessert. The fragrance is absolutely delicious!

I will definitely buy all of these shower creams again. The fragrances make me happy, and the moisturising formula of Palmolive’s shower creams is soft and gentle to my skin. Palmolive Ultra Moisturisation, Palmolive Pampering Touch, and Palmolive Smooth Delight are usually about £2 each, but there’s always a half price offer somewhere. 🙂

Palmolive Mediterranean Moments Apricot & Strawberry and Argan Oil & Almond

Hi there! Today’s post is about Palmolive’s Mediterranean Moments Apricot & Strawberry and Argan Oil & Almond. These two shower milks sounded promising, so I bought them unsniffed. But now that I’ve been using these shower milks for a few days, I’m a bit on the fence. And here’s why…
Palmolive Mediterranean Moments
These two shower milks feel great on my skin. They’re super soft and silky, and they don’t dry out my skin at all. Great formula!

But the Apricot & Strawberry shower milk smells very generic. The fragrance isn’t bad, but I think this non-sweet fruity concoction is quite forgettable. The Argan Oil & Almond shower milk smells too spicy for my taste. If I had sniffed this one in-store, I would have put it back on the shelf.

I won’t be buying these shower milks again – but that’s only because I don’t like the fragrances. The next person might love them. Still, if you’re looking for a gentle shower product, I would definitely recommend these two shower milks. Just have a sniff before you buy! 🙂

Palmolive Mediterranean Moments shower milks are available as 250ml for about £2 each. However, I’ve also seen these products at the Poundstores. And not too long ago these shower mils were 90p each at Asda. So keep your eyes peeled for the best offer.

Palmolive Aroma Therapy Absolute Relax, Morning Tonic, Sensual

Hi there! Whilst I love a good home spa experience, I’m not keen on expensive products which, in my opinion, are no better than the usual suspects from the drugstore. So meet my favourite cheap home spa buddies:

Palmolive Aromatherapy Absolute Relax with Ylang-Ylang and Iris, Morning Tonic with Tangerine and Lemongrass, and Sensual with Moroccan Rose and Ginseng. These shower gels smells absolutely amazing!
Palmolive Aroma Therapy
Absolute Relax is a long-term favourite shower gel of mine. The floral fragrance wraps you in a warm cocoon of iris and ylang-ylang. Absolutely heavenly! Morning Tonic is an old favourite which I haven’t seen in years. And I’m so glad it’s back. This shower gel smells of sweet greenery. It’s like a gentle wake-up on a summer morning. Sensual is a typical ‘red’ shower gel. It’s intoxicatingly feminine, sweet and elegant.

Now Palmolive, could you please bring back the matching bath gels? And could you please also make body lotions with these captivating fragrances?

Palmolive Aroma Therapy Absolute Relax, Morning Tonic and Sensual are available at most supermarkets and drugstores for about £2 each. However, they’re often on special offer. A few weeks ago they were 79p each somewhere (I believe it was Home Bargains, but I’m not sure), so I bought 9 bottles!

Palmolive Naturals Shower Milk Irresistible Softness, Delicate Care and Feel Passionate

Hi there! I know many people are obsessed with expensive shower and bathing products that promise a spa experience at home – and I can’t blame them. 😉 But I think that some of the drugstore products are just as good! Just like everyone else, I too love to try different products all the time, but one brand I always return to is Palmolive. I just love their products because they’re gentle, they smell nice (Did I mention that I am also obsessed with scents?) and they’re good value!

My skin is quite sensitive, so I like shower milks and shower creams that don’t leave my skin feeling tight and dry the moment I step out of the shower. And Palmolive shower creams are just great in this regard. My current favourites from left to right: Palmolive Irresistible Softness with Black Orchid and Moisturising Milk, Palmolive Delicate Care with Almond and Moisturising Milk, and Palmolive Feel Passionate with Passion Flower and, you guessed it, Moisturising Milk.
Palmolive shower milk
I’m not going to rave about how gently these shower milks cleanse my skin, but I’m going to rave about their scents! 🙂 So, here we go. Palmolive Black Orchid joined the brand’s standard assortment a couple of years ago – and I’m glad it did. I would describe its scent as a feminine, warm and velvety veil of black orchid and cashmere. Heavenly!

Palmolive Almond is a classic that has been around for decades. It’s got the most wonderful sweet almond blossom scent I have ever encountered. It’s divine! Now, Palmolive, can we please have the matching almond body lotion back?

My third favourite is a limited edition, Palmolive Passion Flower. It’s no longer available at the big supermarkets or drugstores, but some of the discount stores still have it. The scent is really gorgeous – it’s youthful, floral and fruity and it bursts with sweet juiciness. Yummy!

If these shower milk are not already part of your shower routine, then you need to give them a try! They’re usually £1 (or less) as they’re always on special offer somewhere. Happy lathering! 😀
