Empties – May 2021

Hi there! Today’s post is about all the products I finished in May. I used 12 single-use face masks. Whilst I don’t take photos of those empty face mask sachets, you can read about my latest face mask finds here. Now let’s take a closer look at the big bottles!

1 Elizavecca Milky Piggy Hell-Pore Cleanup AHA Fruit Toner – I love this toner! I hope I can find it again!

2 Cellio It’s True Moisture Skin Pearl Natural Skin Care System – another lovely toner! I’d be happy to get my hands on it again!

3 Simple Purifying Cleansing Lotion – I don’t think I’ll buy this product again. There’s much better stuff out there for a similar price.

4 Herbal Essences Silk N’ Shine Conditoner – my holy grail of hair care!

5 Classics Nail Polish Remover – my go-to nail polish remover. £1 at Poundland for a 400ml bottle.

6 Treacle Moon The Raspberry Kiss – a decent shower gel, but not a favourite. I don’t think I’ll buy it again.

7 My Little Pony Lovely Lipbalm Cutie Kiss – a wonderful lip balm! I hope to find it or a similar one again!

8 NSPA Fruit Extracts Luscious And Juicy Red Cherry Rich Body Butter – this is a nice body butter. I believe this fragrance has been discontinued. Unfortunately, I can’t repurchase it.

9 Manhattan Buffalo 12 – I liked this nail polish a lot. I have 20+ similar ones though.

10 Sanctuary Spa Mestizo Acai Rain Shower – I love this! I’m sad that I can’t buy it again.

11 Nivea Love Adventure Caring Shower Gel – it was nice while it lasted, but I also won’t buy this one again.

12 Nivea Indulgent Moisture Cashmere Shower Cream – I enjoyed the moisturising formula, but not the fragrance, so I won’t buy it again.

13 Superdrug Layering Lab Blossom Shower Jelly (no photo) – OMG, I hate this shower jelly so much! I gave it a second chance, but this stuff is vile, and it’s not worth cleaning the entire shower 360 just to get rid of the green flecks it leaves everywhere. I binned it right after the 2nd try. Good riddance!

14 Superdrug Layering Lab Blossom Body Wash (no photo) – I can’t bring myself to keep using this stuff. Binned.

I think I did well again this month – 4 shower gels finished, 2 unloved shower products binned, some more skin care finished as well. I think June will be good too, as I have a bunch of products in various states of less than half full…

Thanks for reading, lovelies! x

Simple Purifying Cleansing Lotion

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Simple Purifying Cleansing Lotion.

This product is free from animal-derived ingredients, artificial fragrance or colour, harsh chemicals, soap, alcohol, mineral oil, glycol. What it does contain is vitamin E and pro-vitamin B5. It also contains palm kernel oil, but according to Simple, it’s sustainably sourced.

This is a regular cleansing lotion – apply it to a cotton pad, and wipe it all over your face to dissolve and remove your make-up.

I’ve been using this product for about a month now, and I think it’s good but not great. I agree that the product itself is gentle, and I think it’s good at removing basic make-up. However, when I use more products, and not just foundation, this cleansing lotion isn’t good enough, and I end up going over my face (almost rubbing) more often and for longer.

Based on my experience, I’d recommend it if you only wear light make-up. I will continue to use it on my home-working days when I only put on foundation and lipstick or lipgloss.

If you’re interested, Simple Purifying Cleansing Lotion is available as 200ml. I paid £1.79 (B&M Bargains).
