Balance Active Formula Gold Collagen Rejuvenating Serum

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Balance Active Formula Gold Collagen Rejuvenating Serum. This serum contains colloidal gold for a radiant glow and marine collagen to smooth and protect the skin. You’re supposed to use this serum twice a day. Just give the bottle a good shake and smooth the serum over your face and neck.

I’ve been using this serum for only 2 weeks now, but I can already tell that it’s quite nice. It’s a bit sticky, so I’d have to deduct an imaginary point, but I love that it’s hydrating and that it gives me a glowing complexion. I’m very happy to say that this serum kept its promise! The serum is also compatible with all the other products I’m using. There’s no balling up of anything. I’m happy to keep using this serum, and based on my experience, I’d recommend it.

If you’re interested, Balance Active Formula Gold Collagen Rejuvenating Serum is available as 30ml. I paid a ridiculous £2.99 at B&M Bargains (although the price may have gone up slightly recently).

Skin Treats Glitter Face Pink Hydrogel Glitter Mask

Hi there! Today I’m reviewing this Skin Treats Glitter Face Pink Hydrogel Glitter Mask which I picked up for £1 at my local B&M Bargains store. This mask promises to hydrate skin deeply. It contains chondrus crispus (a species of seaweed which is bursting with minerals and vitamins and is said to protect against UV rays) as the 3rd ingredient. Wow! It also contains vitamin E which is known to be beneficial to skin.

The instructions on the back state that you should cleanse your face, place the mask on your face and leave it on for 20-25 minutes before discarding it. I’ve never used a hydrogel mask before, so I didn’t know what to expect.

I was also a little baffled by another instruction which says that the mask must be used within 3 hours of opening. Yes, I do understand the concept of no added preservatives, but I mention this because with normal 20g or 20ml sheet masks you usually have enough leftover essence for a second sheet mask. Now if you look at the bottom of the sachet in the photo below, you’ll see that it contains 60g of product. This is A LOT! 😲

I’ve wanted to try the mask for a while, but I was put off because it contains a huge amount of essence, and “Glitter Face” implies that the mask might be messy. But I’ve now used the mask, and here’s what I think.

When I opened the sachet and looked inside, I found a huge amount of clear liquid and a pinkish jelly mask with silver holographic glitter stars attached to it. Those glitter stars looked exactly like the glitter stars you can find in all sorts of different Christmas-themed nail polishes or top coats. The jelly mask itself was awful. The width was OK, but the length was a complete joke. It didn’t even cover half my forehead, and the proportions were completely messed up. Due to the awkward fit, the mask didn’t lie flat on my face. It kept slipping all the time, so I had to pull it up time and time again which caused the mask to tear. By the time I removed the mask, it was more like bits and pieces. Disappointing.

I didn’t think the jelly mask was effective, but there was plenty of essence left, so I popped a compressed sheet mask into the sachet. The compressed mask expanded quickly, and I was able to enjoy an actual sheet mask. Well, 2 actually, thanks to the insane amount of essence! 😆

Based on my experience, I’m happy to report that the essence felt deeply hydrating (without being greasy or sticky) and firming (!). I was seriously impressed, and I even skipped my night cream that day! My skin felt plumped up and I could still feel the hydration boost when I woke up the next morning. So whilst the jelly mask itself is pretty useless, the essence is really powerful!

Scinic Aqua All In One Ampoule

Hi there! Today I’m reviewing Scinic’s Aqua All In One Ampoule. I bought this product because I loved the look of it. However, I had to google to find out what it’s supposed to do!

Alrighty, this product promises to revolutionise skin care because it can be used as… a toner, an essence, a serum, a moisturiser, and, apparently, even as a sleeping pack. All you need to do is apply the product to your face.

I’ve been using this product since November 2017 (the current routine is shower, ampoule, eye cream, day cream), so here’s what I think…

I’ve been applying a generous amount of product to my face and neck every day (mornings only) for over 3 months now, and the bottle is still more than half full. I think that’s impressive! However, this is the only thing that’s impressive…

… This product cannot replace a toner because it just doesn’t work. It’s not a serum because it’s nothing like a serum. It can’t be a moisturiser because it’s not hydrating. And it’s certainly not a sleeping pack because no matter how much product you apply, it’ll always dry down to the same dry and dull (yet slightly tacky) mess.

I wanted to love the product, but it’s not working for me. I can’t use it on its own or in conjuction with any of my regular moisturisers because it makes my skin feel dehydrated.

Having said that, this product gives me the chance to use (and hopefully finish) some of the richer (well, greasy) moisturisers that I own – because it manages to suck the oil right out of those greaseball face creams. So… I guess I could say that I did make this product work! 😉

I wouldn’t repurchase Scinic’s Aqua All In One Ampoule. However, if you’re interested, it’s available as 250ml (I believe). I paid £9.99 (TK Maxx).

Hunny Bee Pink Grapefruit Face Mask Infused With Collagen

Hi there! Today’s post is about Hunny Bee’s Pink Grapefruit Infused With Collagen Face Mask. I bought a pack of 5 masks. So far I’ve used 2 of them. And I’m definitely ready to review the product! So read on if you’d like to know if these masks are any good. 🙂

This sheet mask promises to repair dull and uneven skin, to brighten, smooth and hydrate skin, and to restore skin’s youthful glow. All you have to do is place the mask onto your cleansed face, leave it on for 15 minutes (I leave it on until the sheet mask is dry which takes about an hour), remove it, and massage the serum that’s left on your face into your skin. You’re supposed to use the mask on a weekly basis.

How’s the mask? I think it’s excellent! I love the subtle grapefruit fragrance and the refreshing serum. It smells and feels like a high end product. Awesome! But wait, there’s more! This mask is really brightening, and I’ve seen that it helps even out my skin tone. Fantastic stuff! Another thing I love is that the serum feels deeply hydrating without being greasy. It’s truly impressive!

I would recommend this face mask to everyone who’s looking for an effective product that brightens and hydrates skin. Hunny Bee’s Pink Grapefruit Infused With Collagen Face Mask is available as a pack of 5 for £4.99 (TK Maxx).

Spascriptions Anti-Aging Spa Treatment Mask With Grapefruit & Collagen

Hi there! Today’s post is about a face mask (well, a set of 5 masks) that I picked up a few weeks ago – Spascriptions Anti-Aging Spa Treatment Mask With Grapefruit & Collagen. This mask promises to improve the overall health and the appearance of the skin, and it claims to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet. On top of that, this mask promises to lift, firm and tone the skin, to fade age spots, and to increase skin luminosity.

How does it work? Cleanse your face before you use the mask, leave it on for 15 minutes, remove the mask, rinse off any residue – and that’s it. However, there’s also a word of warning on the back of the sachet. It’s made clear that you should not leave the mask on for longer than 15 minutes, and that you need to rinse your face immediately afterwards as otherwise you risk an allergic reaction. Scary!

Well, I used the mask anyway ( I started to read what’s on the back of the sachet after I’d put the mask on my face). So let me tell you about my experience!

First of all, I was hoping the mask would smell of grapefruits – but it doesn’t. The mask (well, the serum) has a standard cosmetical smell. It’s nice enough, but it’s nothing special.

When I put on the mask, I noticed that it felt cooling. And I really enjoyed the cooling sensation because it was pleasant and relaxing. This is what every single sheet mask should feel like!

Now… when I read the warning on the back of the sachet, I set a timer. When the 15 minutes were up, I didn’t do anything. I thought the mask felt awesome on my face, so it would be fine to leave it on for longer. However, about a minute later I noticed a slight tingling sensation. It didn’t feel scary, but I took off the mask and washed my face – just to be sure.

Then I looked in the mirror – and I saw instant results. Wow! Whilst I’m not obsessing over my fine lines, I do keep an eye on what’s happening with my face. And because of this I could tell that this mask works. The fine lines on my forehead were almost gone – my forehead looked pretty much like 3 years ago (that’s when my lines started to form). And the lines around my nose were significantly reduced – there was a huge difference to how visible these lines were under my make-up.

Whilst the effect was only temporary (it lasted for a day and a half), I’m quite impressed that this mask delivered real results. Because of this I’ll make sure to keep the other 4 masks for when I want to look fresher and younger. The occasion could be anything really – it could be a weekend away with my husband, or it could be a job interview…

In summary, I would recommend this face mask to everyone! Spascriptions Anti-Aging Spa Treatment Masks With Grapefruit & Collagen are available as sets of 5 masks for £4.99 (TK Maxx) which is a total bargain. And if you consider that 1 sachet contains enough serum for 2 to 3 uses, you can have a proper rejuvenating facial treatment at home for 33p!

So keep in mind that you can buy plain, compressed sheet masks which you can just pop into the sachets. The compressed masks will soak up the serum, so you have another sheet mask ready within a few hours, and you can be sure that you don’t waste any of the precious serum.

Have you tried this face mask? Or would you like to try it? Feel free to get in touch. And thanks for reading! 🙂
