Empties – May 2020

Hi there! I hope you had a great start into the week and into June. 😘 Today’s post is about all the products I managed to finish in May. I’ve done really well, and here’s everything I said goodbye to.

1 Yves Rocher Monoï Eau Des Vahinés Eau De Toilette – this is an amazing fragrance! I have a few more bottles in my stash!

2 Yves Rocher Monoï Lagoon Moisturizing Perfumed Body Mist – another lovely fragance from Yves Rocher. Yes, I have a few more of these too!

3 Vaseline Intensive Care Essential Healing Non-Greasy Lotion – one of my of favourite body moisturisers. I will buy it again, no doubt!

4 Manhattan Tasty Lips Lipgloss American Grapefruit – a truly amazing lipgloss. If this one hadn’t been discontinued, I’d pick it up again.

5 Superdrug Deep Action Extreme Skin Brightening Solution – this is the best pore-unclogging and brightening product I’ve never used. I have a few more of these in my stash!

6 Boots The Garden Collection Rose Body Lotion (travel size) – this is a lovely non-greasy body lotion which I’d be happy to buy again.

7 Smack Beauty Sleeping Beauty Firming Night Cream – this is an OK night cream. I wouldn’t buy it again as there’s much better stuff out there.

8 Nivea Clay Fresh Deep Cleansing Shower Ginger & Basil Scent – a nice shower gel. I think I’ll buy it again!

9 Herbal Essences Bio Renew Bourbon & Manuka Honey Deep Repair Conditioner – one of the best conditioners I’ve ever used. I’ve already repurchased it (+ the matching shampoo).

10 Radox Scent Touch Feel Positive – this is a nice shower gel that I might buy again.

11 Rightguard Shower + Oils Purple Orchid – I love this shower gel! I’ll buy it again next time I see it.

12 Radox Eastern Spirit – this is a really nice bath gel. Unfortunately, this fragrance has been discontinued.

13 Classics Nail Polish Remover – my go-to nail polish remover. I have a few more bottles in my stash.

14 Burberry Brit Red – I loved this fragrance! Too bad it was a limited edition…

15 Primark PS… Pink Grapefruit Overnight Jelly Mask – this is a decent jelly moisturiser, but I won’t buy it again as there’s better stuff waiting to be used!

I also used a few single-use face masks. If you’d like to know which masks I tried recently, click here. I’m very happy with what I finished this month. I hope June will be amazing for empties too!

Thanks for stopping by! 🥰

Smack Beauty Sleeping Beauty Firming Night Cream

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Smack Beauty Sleeping Beauty Firming Night Cream. This night cream is aimed at all skin types, and it promises to target the depth and volume of lines and wrinkles, to tackle dryness, to rejuvenate the skin, and to make skin feel uplifted, firmer and more supple.

This night cream contains retinol, shea butter, hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, tamarind fruit extract, pumpkin seed extract, and a few other botanical extracts.

I’ve used this night cream for 4 weeks now, and I think it’s good but not great. It provides light hydration which would most likely be perfect for normal to oily skin types, but it’s not sufficient for dry skin. I also don’t think that this night cream makes a difference to how my skin feels or looks.

At the moment I’m also using Boots’ marvellous No 7 serum which seems to boost all the products I’m using. So I’ve tried this night cream without the Boots serum. I’ve seen quite a difference, and based on this I have to credit Boots with any improvement in my skin!

What else? I like that this night cream has plenty of botanical extracts. There’s a bunny image on the back of the box – I’m not sure if they’re trying to say the product is cruelty-free. I hope it is!

Smack Beauty Sleeping Beauty Firming Night Cream is available as 60g. I paid £3 (clearance) but TK Maxx showed the original price was over £20. I’m not sure if this is correct, but I don’t think this night cream is worth anywhere near that. I do think it’s comparable with drugstore night creams in the £5 – £10 price range, and I think this night cream would be a good product for a younger woman (<30) with normal to oily skin.
