Empties – July 2018

Hi there! It’s the 1st of August, so it’s time for my monthly empties post. Before I show you the big bottles and tubes I emptied, let me add that I also used a number of single use face masks – but I didn’t keep the sachets. I never do! Now, onto the big empties.

1 Kenzo Madly Kenzo Eau De Toilette – this is a lovely fragrance! It’s fresh, youthful and happy. Great stuff, Kenzo!

2 NSPA Luscious Fresh Clementine Fragrance Body Mist – I enjoyed this body mist quite a bit. I think the fragrance is fresh and tangy, and the body mist felt really cool on the skin. I’d like to buy it again, but NSPA replaced the clementine products with a different fragrance.

3 Sukin Purifying Shampoo – this was a nice enough shampoo. I don’t think it was very purifying, but if you don’t get your head & hair dirty, this is alright for daily use. I won’t buy it again.

4 Aussie Colour Mate Conditioner – this is a below average conditioner, and I wouldn’t buy it again.

5 Boots Luscious Vanilla Body Spray – this is a nice vanilla fragrance. I have 2 back-up bottles, I think.

6 Imperial Leather Foamy Banana Shower Cream – I love it! I have another bottle in my stash!

7 Sukin Oil Balancing Clarifying Facial Tonic – this is a nice toner. It’s really powerful, so I couldn’t use it every day, but I can see myself picking it up again!

8 NSPA Lemon Shower & Bath Gel – this is a very refreshing shower gel. My husband used it too, so this one’s a shared empty. I’m happy to repurchase this shower gel!

9 Tesco Pro Formula Fresh Skin Brightening Facial Scrub – this was nice while it lasted, but I wouldn’t buy it again. There are much better face scrubs out there.

10 Original Source Lemon & Tea Tree Shower Gel – this is a nice shower gel. It’s one of my summer staples. I have a few more bottles in my stash, and I think there might be another empty bottle next month! By the way, this is a shared empty because my husband used it too.

11 Daily Defense Moisturizing Argan Oil Body Wash – this is a very nice shower cream. I’ve been using it on and off since November! I wouldn’t repurchase this huge 946ml bottle, but I would buy a normal size.

12 L’Oréal Elvive Triple Resist 60 Second Saviour – this is a lovely deep conditioner. I’d love to buy it again, but I can’t find it anywhere. 😦

This is what I emptied in July. Have you tried any of these products? Or would you like to try any of them? What have you emptied this month? Feel free to comment. And thanks for reading!

100% Vegan & Cruelty-Free – Sukin Oil Balancing Clarifying Facial Tonic

Hi there! Today I’m reviewing Sukin’s Oil Balancing Clarifying Facial Tonic. But let me tell you a little about the brand first. 🙂

Sukin is an Australian brand that is known for vegan, cruelty-free and carbon-neutral beauty products and toiletries.

Sukin products don’t contain SLS, SLES, harsh ingredients, animal derivatives, synthetic fragrances, artificial colours, mineral oils or parabens.

OK, so what’s this product like? Well, this tonic is essentially a toner. It contains white tea, pomegranate, bilberry and coconut extracts, vitamins, antioxidants, chamomile, cucumber and aloe vera extracts. Awesome!

This toner promises balanced, refined and soothed skin as well as purified pores.

I’ve been using this toner on and off since December, and I think that it’s really powerful. It smells harsh. Well, I think it smells like poison. And when I use this toner for more than 2 days in a row, it makes my skin feel like it’s being poisoned!

Having said that, I have no issues at all when I’m using this toner every other day – and that’s exactly what I’ve been doing for a while. (The other toner I use it Boots’ cheap yet awesome cucumber toner.)

I haven’t noticed any oil-balancing effects, and I don’t think that the toner feels particulary soothing or calming. However, I actually enjoy using it every other day because it feels like it’s killing (=poisoning) all sorts of nasty bacteria. 😀

If you’re into natural skin care, I think you should try this toner – but be careful if you have sensitive or moody skin. And please make sure you do a patch test first!

Sukin’s Oil Balancing Clarifying Facial Tonic is available as 125ml for £9.95 (Boots). I paid £4.99 (TK Maxx).
