Guilty Pleasure – Jennifer Lopez Live Eau De Parfum

J Lo LiveHi there! Today’s post is about a guilty pleasure of mine – Jennifer Lopez Live EDP. It’s one of my favourite fragrances. But I try to keep it a secret in real life. 😉

What I love about Live is that it’s not like ‘all the other fruity fragrances’, and that it’s definitely one of the best celebrity fragrances out there.

Live is full of live. It’s juicy, it’s sunny, it’s full of energy, it’s optimistic and it’s youthful. It’s alive. I think most fruity fragrances smell pink, but Live is different. It smells yellow! 🙂

Now, Live contains the following fragrance notes: Sicilian lemon, Italian orange and pineapple (top notes), redcurrant, peony and violet (heart notes), and tonka beans, sandalwood and caramel (base notes). Live sounds delicious, doesn’t it?

I think Live smells like a mix of fresh pineapple, caramel and vanilla with a hint of powder. It’s perfect for the colder seasons because the juicy, tropical fragrance is a real pick-me-up. But it’s just as perfect for the hottest summer days because it’s not too sweet. Yes, it’s got all these sweet notes, but it’s a lot more juicy and sunny than it is sweet. Like I said, it’s a yellow fragrance.

Jennifer Lopez Live is available as 30, 50 and 100ml EDP. Prices vary greatly – the RRP for the small 30ml bottle is around £24. However, lots of stores sell the big 100ml bottle for under £20.

Do you have any guilty pleasure fragrances? Feel free to let me know in the comments. And thanks for stopping by!

Suitable For Vegans – Original Source Shower Plum & Blackcurrant, Raspberry & Cocoa and Wild Cherry & Nettle

Hi there! I haven’t reviewed any Original Source products in a while. But now’s the time to look at a few fruity shower gels. Meet Original Source Plum & Blackcurrant, Raspberry And Cocoa, and Wild Cherry And Nettle. These shower gels are suitable for vegans – they’re approved by The Vegan Society.
Original Source Shower
Original Source Plum & Blackcurrant is surprisingly refreshing. I thought the plum fragrance would make this shower gel a bit too sweet for summer – but I was wrong. The fragrance actually reminds me of blackcurrant cough lozenges – in a good way. It smells like blackcurrant juice and green currant buds. So yes, this one is definitely suitable for warm summer days.

Original Source Raspberry And Cocoa isn’t my favourite. This fragrant combination smells a bit weird. It’s not bad, but it’s not what I expected – and I can’t smell any raspberries or cocoa. I don’t really care for this shower gel (and neither does my husband), so this one might end up in the hand wash dispenser.

Original Source Wild Cherry And Nettle is another nice surprise. And it’s another shower gel that reminds me of cough lozenges – cherry-flavoured ones, of course. The fragrance isn’t as strong as the plum & blackcurrant fragrance, but it’s definitely yummy!

The RRP for 250ml Original Source shower gels is usually around £2 – but you can find these shower gels for £1 (Poundland and the likes) or less (special offer).

Thank you for stopping by. I really appreciate it. 🙂

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue

D&G Light BlueHi there! Today’s post is about one of my favourite summer fragrances, Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue. Yes, summer is over, but that won’t stop me from dousing myself in Light Blue for at least a few more weeks. 🙂

OK, Light Blue contains fragrant notes of lemon, apple and cedar (top notes), jasmin, bamboo and white rose (heart notes), and musk, cedar wood and amber (base notes).

In my opinion, Light Blue is all about lemons and cedar. I love the fresh, cool and crisp lemon scent with its dry cedar base. Light Blue is a modern classic that’s perfect for hot summer days.

I also love that Light Blue can be worn by men. I think it’s a perfect example of a true unisex fragrance, and it’s so much sexier than Light Blue For Men.

For as long as D&G continues to make Light Blue, I will definitely have it in my fragrance stash.

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue is available as 25, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette spray. Prices vary from about £22 for the smallest bottle to £70 for the largest bottle.

NSPA Passionfruit Fragrance Body Mist

NSPA PassionfruitHi there! It’s only been a few weeks since I started to explore NSPA’s body care collection. After my positive experience with NSPA’s raspberry-scented products, I wanted to try more of NSPA’s offerings.

I bought different shower & bath gels, body butters and fruity body mists, one of these being NSPA Passionfruit Fragrance Body Mist.

I must say that I am quite pleased with this body mist. The passionfruit scent is actually quite authentic – it’s fresh, juicy, fruity, a bit sweet and a bit tangy, and I’m convinced that I can actually smell a hint of fizziness. 🙂

Another bonus is that this fragrance lasts relatively long – considering it’s ‘only’ a body mist. I could smell it on me for about two hours and it lasted all day long on my scarf. Not bad!

As it’s quite warm at the moment, I’m storing this body mist in my fridge. This means that whenever I want a cool blast of fragrance, I just spritz the body mist onto my skin. This is wonderfully refreshing and I think that, from now on, I should always have a body mist in my fridge. 🙂

I also love the big bottle – that’s 200 ml for only £3. Incredible value!

NSPA Passionfruit Fragrance Body Mist is available at Asda stores. There’s also a matching Bath & Shower Gel (500 ml, £3).
