November Beauty Awards

Hi there! It’s the last day of the month, so it’s time for my monthly favourites post. This post is a bit awkward because the top 3 products are all from Superdrug! Well, the reason is that I’ve simply tried lots of Superdrug products recently. But I’ll definitely do a few Boots products reviews next month, I promise! But let’s get to the favourites now!

3rd place – Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Care Intensive All Over Body Cream

Whilst I prefer body creams that are a little less rich, I still think Superdrug’s Vitamin E Intensive All Over Body Cream is really good. It smells extremely nice (you’d think it’s a high-end product!) and it’s very nourishing. I’ll be using it a lot this winter!

Runner-Up – Superdrug Clearly Youthful Resurfacing Night Serum

I’ve been using Superdrug’s Clearly Youthful Resurfacing Night Serum for a few months now – and I think it’s great. It’s made quite a difference to my skin, and I’ve already repurchased it.

WINNER – Superdrug Dehydrated Facial Konjac Sponge

I loooooove my konjac sponge. I never want to be without a konjac sponge again. If you’ve never used a konjac sponge, you really need to change that! Thank you Stashy and Kathy for making me curious about konjac sponges!

Now on to the honourable mentions! I really like Superdrug’s Vitamin E Eye Cream and Superdrug’s Flutter Lip Balm. And I’m impressed with Burt’s Bees Calla Lily Tinted Lip Balm.

This is it for this month! Feel free to let me know what you think of my favourites. Have you tried any of these products? Would you like to try any of them? And which products did you enjoy this month? Get in touch if you want to. And thanks for reading!

100% Vegan & Cruelty-Free – Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Care Nourishing Eye Cream

Superdrug Vitamin E Eye CreamHi there! A few weeks ago I emptied my Naturally Radiant eye cream. And since then I’ve been using Superdrug’s Vitamin E Skin Care Nourishing Eye Cream two to three times every day.

This eye cream is rich in natural Vitamin E, it’s high in antioxidants which defend the skin against environmental damage, and it’s aimed at people with normal to dry skin. Sounds great!

And now that I’ve used this eye cream for a few weeks, I can say that I like it.

It’s easy to apply, it sits well under make-up, it hydrates well, and it doesn’t aggravate my dry, sensitive and moody skin. Oh, and it’s free from micro-shimmer particles which is very nice.

So all in all, this eye cream is quite similar to the Naturally Radiant eye cream I’ve used before.

I will definitely continue to use this eye cream. And it’s quite likely I’ll buy it again.

Superdrug’s Vitamin E Skin Care Nourishing Eye Cream is available as 15ml for £2.99. Superdrug runs buy 1 get 2nd half price promotions on Vitamin E Skin Care products frequently.

Empties – October 2016

Hi there! Today’s post is about the products I emptied last month. As always, I’ve enjoyed a few face masks. And now, let’s see how many empty bottles, tubs and tubes I’ve thrown out last month.
empties-102016-1
1 L’Oréal Extraordinary Clay Re-Balancing Conditioner – I liked this conditioner. It detangled my hair nicely, and it made my hair feel soft and smooth. I will probably buy it again. In case you’re wondering what happened to the shampoo… my husband is using it up because every time I empty a conditioner, I pass the matching shampoo on to my husband.

2 Radox Eastern Spirit Shower Gel – a nice shower gel. I like the feminine and exotic fragrance. I have another bottle.

3 Garnier Body Intensive 7 Days Soothing Gel Cream – a very nice, non-sticky gel-cream. Unfortunately I can’t repurchase the product because it’s been discontinued.

4 Superdrug Naturally Radiant Brightening Eye Cream – I didn’t find this eye cream to be brightening. However, it’s still a decent eye cream that moisturises nicely and sits well under make-up. I might buy it again.

5 Boots Extracts Mango Body Scrub – a nice body scrub. I prefer grittier body scrubs, so this one isn’t my favourite. But the mango fragrance is 100% delicious. I might buy it again.

6 Superdrug Simply Pure Smoothing Face Scrub – a very decent face scrub for dry or sensitive skin. The best thing is that this scrub doesn’t contain crushed walnut shells or apricot stones, so it won’t harm your skin! I’ll repurchase this one as soo as there’s another half price or BOGOF offer.

7 NYC Expert Last Nail Polish 138 Classy Glassy – another great clear polish from NYC. I have several back-ups, but I’ll continue to buy these anyway.

8 Revlon Colorstay 270 Stiletto – my favourite black nail polish. It stamps perfectly, and when I use it to actually paint my nails, it never stains. I have several backup bottles. 🙂

9 Yves Rocher Apple Star Anise Refreshing Fragrance Mist – I really liked this body mist. The apple fragrance is very pleasant and authentic. Take note, Donna Karan, this is what an apple fragrance is supposed to smell like. Unfortunately this one was a limited edition fragrance and I can’t buy it again.

10 Olay Essentials Cleansing Milk – I love this cleansing milk. It’s gentle, but it’s effetive. I have a back-up bottle (I might have more than one…) and I’ll continue to buy this product. It’s a beauty staple.

11 Rossmann Rival De Loop Clean & Care Refreshing Toner With Ginkgo & Cucumber – this is a very nice toner. I bought it in Germany ages ago. I have another bottle somewhere around the house. If I go to Germany again at some point, I will definitely buy this toner again.
empties-102016-4
12 Palmolive Thermal Spa Mineral Massage – I love this shower gel! I’ll buy it again, no doubt! In case you’re looking for it, it’s been repackaged and its new name is ‘Feel The Massage’. My husband used this shower gel a few times too, so this one is a shared empty.

13 I Love… Sugared Cranberries (100ml travel size) – this one is quite nice. If this shower gel becomes part of I Love…’s permanent collection, I’ll buy it again for sure.

14 I Love… Lemons & Limes (100ml travel size) – it’s a decent shower gel, but nothing special. I wouldn’t buy the full-size product.

15 Palmolive Thermal Spa Ocean Vitality – another decent shower gel from Palmolive. I think this one has been discontinued, but if I come across it again, I’ll definitely repurchase it. This is another shared empty.

This is it for October. I’m happy with what I’ve emptied. I’m glad I finished another clear nail polish – but I still have at least 20+ half-full clear polishes. But I’m getting on top of them! 🙂 And I’ve emptied a few more shower gels. Yay! But let me tell you a secret – I’ve bought a lot of stuff over the past few weeks. I’ll show you my loot tomorrow.

100% Vegan & Cruelty-Free – Superdrug Naturally Radiant Brightening Eye Cream

Hi there! Today’s post is about the eye cream I’ve been using since late June – Superdrug Naturally Radiant Brightening Eye Cream. This cream promises to reduce puffiness and dark circles and to awaken skin’s natural glow with the help of two natural brightening agents – kiwi fruit extract and mulberry fruit extract – and moisturising sugar beet extract.

The product claims to make the skin around the eyes look and feel more refreshed, more energised, smoother and softer. And it claims to minimise the appearance of dark circles and puffiness within four weeks. Now, did the cream deliver on its promises?
Superdrug Naturally Radiant Eye Cream
I’ve now used this eye cream two to three times daily for six weeks. So I’m satisfied I’ve given it a fair chance. And my verdict is… this eye cream is OK. Whilst it really makes the skin around my eyes feel soft, smooth and supple, it hasn’t done anything (I mean it – nothing, nada, rien, zero) to minimise the dark circles. 😦

But let’s focus on what this eye cream can do! For once, it feels very nice on the skin. It’s soft and gentle and I think it’s perfectly suitable for people with dry or sensitive skin. Another thing I like is that this eye cream doesn’t contain these pesky little shimmer particles that many other eye creams burst with. So if you don’t like shimmery eye creams, you’re safe with this one. 🙂 Oh, and before I forget it – this eye cream sits well under make-up. I haven’t noticed any problems with my make-up or concealer balling up or sliding off.

Would I recommend this eye cream? If you want a nice, gentle, soft and refreshing eye cream, then yes. But if you want an eye cream that fights dark circles, I’d say keep looking! Superdrug Naturally Radiant Brightening Eye Cream is available as 15ml for £5.99. I got mine for £2.95 (half price offer). So keep your eyes peeled for promotions. 🙂
