Reducing My Oldies Stash – 100% Vegan & Cruelty-Free – Superdrug Raspberry Bubblegum Shower Gel

upload-1Hi there! A few days ago I paid my local Superdrug store a visit. I was shopping for essentials (no frivolities, I promise). However, I did spend some time looking at the make-up and skin care products and sniffing shower gels and shampoos.

I also saw a cute and promising limited edition shower gel – one that I knew I had in my stash! And when I got home I made an effort to find this shower gel. And I found it! Now meet Superdrug Raspberry Bubblegum Shower Gel!

First of all, when I picked up this shower gel, all I saw was BUBBLEGUM. So I was a little surprised when I realised that it was a raspberry bubblegum fragrance.

Anyway, I tried the shower gel right away – and I think it’s OK. It does smell like raspberries and it does smell like bubblegum. It’s not a very memorable fragrance, but it is pleasant nonetheless. People who love sweet and fruity shower gels will certainly like this one!

Whilst I don’t think I’d repurchase this shower gel, I’m happy to finish my bottle. Like I said, the fragrance is pleasant after all. 🙂

If you’re interested, Superdrug’s Raspberry Bubblegum Shower Gel is a limited edition shower gel. I can’t find it online, but it was 99p for 250ml at my local Superdrug store – that was just a few days ago. This shower gel is suitable for vegans – and it’s certified cruelty-free (it carries the Leaping Bunny logo)!

100% Vegan & Cruelty-Free – Superdrug Shower Gel Shea Butter & Bamboo, Strawberry & Raspberry

Hi there! Today’s post is about two shower gels I’ve recently tried for the first time – Superdrug Shea Butter & Bamboo Shower Gel and Superdrug Strawberry & Raspberry Shower Gel. These two shower gels are suitable for vegans, and they’re BUAV-approved (=they carry the Leaping Bunny logo), so they’re 100% cruelty-free!
Superdrug Shower Shea Butter Berries
Superdrug’s Shea Butter & Bamboo Shower Gel is wonderful. I love it! It smells like caramel and cream. I. Love. It. I also like that it doesn’t make my skin feel dry. It’s almost nourishing!

Superdrug’s Strawberry & Raspberry Shower Gel is surprisingly nice too. This shower gel is very fruity – but the fruity fragrance is quite well done. Seriously, this shower gel smells very nice!

I’m glad I bought these two shower gels. Whilst I must note that they’re both quite runny, I’d recommend these two shower gels because they smell lovely and they’re not drying at all.

Superdrug Shea Butter & Bamboo Shower Gel and Superdrug Strawberry & Raspberry Shower Gel are available as 250ml for 99p each. But Superdrug runs promotions all the time. Just recently these were on a BOGOF deal! 🙂

Vegan & Cruelty-Free – Superdrug Shower Gel Pomegranate & Grapefruit, Cherry & Almond

Hi there! Today’s post is about two Superdrug own-brand shower gels I bought a while ago. I forgot about them, but my continuing quest to use up all the toiletries I’ve stored outside the bathroom (don’t ask) led me to these two shower gels. Meet Superdrug Pomegranate & Grapefruit and Cherry & Almond.

Let me start with the bets bits: All of Superdrug’s products are BUAV-approved and carry the Leaping Bunny logo. These two shower gels are suitable for vegans and they’re cruelty-free! And they’re only 99p each!
2015 Superdrug Pomegranate PLUS Cherry Almond
When Superdrug turned 50, there were all kinds of ‘pink’ products to celebrate the occasion. Even big brands like Olay, Barry M and Sleek did a few exclusive editions – and Superdrug itself did the same. One of Superdrug’s limited edition anniversary products is this Sweet Sixties Pomegranate & Grapefruit shower gel. The fragrance of this shower gel isn’t unpleasant, but it’s a non-descript fruity something that’s quite forgettable. I’ll squeeze it into the hand soap dispenser.

Superdrug Cherry & Almond is a lovely shower gel. It smells of sweet and sunny cherries with a touch of almond. It’s absolutely delicious! It’s no replacement for the limited edition I Love… Cherry Almond Sparkle. This is because Superdrug’s shower gel focuses more on fruity cherries. And the I Love… cherry & almond products smell sweeter and more cake-like. However, this Superdrug shower gel is really yummy and I’ll buy it again.

Original Source Lime vs. Superdrug Lime & Ginger

Hi there! I know that Original Source’s Lime shower gel is a summer favourite for many people, so I thought I’d compare it with a cheaper alternative, Superdrug’s Lime & Ginger shower gel.

Superdrug does a few shower gels which seem to be similar to Original Source’s offerings, i.e. tea tree & mint and lemon & tea tree. Both lines are vegan, with Original Source’s products being approved by the Vegan Society, whilst all of Superdrug’s products are BUAV-approved and carry the Leaping Bunny logo.
Original Source vs Superdrug Lime
So, let’s start with the actual product reviews. Original Source’s Lime shower gel is a classic. It’s been around for ages and men and women love it – especially in summer – because of its cool, refreshing and zesty lime fragrance. I too love to use it in summer, either to wake me up in the morning, or to give my skin a quick detox after a long, hot day.

Superdrug’s Lime & Ginger shower gel does essentially the same – it cleanses my skin and it’s refreshing. However, its scent is not as nice. Straight from the bottle it smells quite strong and like a household cleaning product. It gets much better once it hits the skin, but I still think that the scent is quite synthetic. Because of this I’ve now squeezed the contents of the bottle into the hand wash dispenser in the kitchen. 🙂 In any event, I don’t think I would buy it again. Saying this, scents are personal preferences and the next person might love it.

To sum it up in one sentence: ***In my opinion, Original Source is the clear winner of this comparison.*** Original Source’s Lime shower gel (250 ml) is available for about £2.20, but it can usually be found for £1 somewhere. Superdrug’s Lime & Ginger shower gel (250 ml) can be yours for 99p, but most of the time there’s a 2 for £1.70 deal.

Superdrug Orange & Satsuma Shower Gel, Dragonfruit & Vanilla Shower Cream

Hi! A couple of weeks ago the weather changed from spring-like to rainy, cold and grey again.I wanted a little pick-me-up, just something cheap to cheer me up. So I bought these two body washes: Superdrug Orange & Satsuma Shower Gel and Dragonfruit & Vanilla Shower Cream.

The Orange & Satsuma shower gel is refreshing and energising and its sunny and summery scent is just what I wanted. I can see this one becoming a favourite for the summer months ahead.

I was quite pleased with the Dragonfruit & Vanilla shower cream as well. Its scent reminds me of fruity yoghurt. Yum! It’s also quite gentle on the skin. And I’ll be buying this one again for sure.

Superdrug does a 2 for £1.70 deal at the moment – so I will be trying some of the other scents (lemon, shea butter, lime etc…) too.
