Empties – February 2022

Hi there! Today’s post is about all the products I said goodbye to in February. I used a bunch of single-use face masks, and you can read about my latest face mask finds if you click here. Now let’s take a look at the bigger bottles and tubs!

1 Yves Saint Laurent Elle Limited Edition 2012 – a dreamy fragrance. I wish it was still around!

2 Yves Saint Laurent Elle Limited Edition 2011 – another great YSL fragrance that I wish I could buy again.

3 Herbal Essences Silk N’ Shine Conditioner – my all-time favourite conditioner. I have plenty of these (plus the matching shampoos) in my stash!

4 Superdrug Vitamin E Moisture Boost Facial Serum – what a lovely serum this was! Happy to buy it again!

5 Superdrug Naturally Radiant Refreshing Complete Cleanser – I didn’t like this face wash. It started out okayish, but the smell… I couldn’t stand it anymore. I poured what was left of the face wash down the sink.

6 I Love… Raspberry & Blackberry Refreshing Body Spritzer – what a beautiful body mist! It’s bursting with fresh and fruity raspberries and blackberries! I think I have another bottle (or two) in my stash!

7 Radox Raspberry Scent Bath Bomb (no photo) – this was a nice bath bomb. A possible repurchase.

8 Carex Vitamin Fresh Shower Gel – a really good shower gel! Also repurchase-worthy.

9 Westlab Reviving Epsom Salt – those bath salts were lovely, and I would buy them again.

10 Baylis & Harding Skin Spa Rose, Ylang Ylang & Patchouli Steam Shower Body Cleanser – definitely nice while it lasted but not a favourite. I wouldn’t buy this shower gel again.

11 Rimmel Stronger Base Coat – I liked this one. I might have another bottle or two in my stash.

12 Baylis & Harding Skin Spa Rose, Ylang Ylang & Patchouli Rich Intensive Body Butter – a decent moisturiser. I have one more tub in my stash which I intend to use soon, but I wouldn’t buy this product again.

And this is it for February – not too bad for a short month!

Essence XXXL Nude Lipgloss 06 Soft Almond, Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Care Lip Balm, Malibu Sun Lip Care Vanilla Flavour

Hi there! Today’s post is about 3 lip products I’m using at the moment – Essence XXXL Nude Lipgloss 06 Soft Almond, Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Care Lip Balm which is 100% vegan and cruelt-free, and Malibu Sun Lip Care Vanilla Flavour.

Let’s start with Essence XXXL Nude Lipgloss 06 Soft Almond! This is a gorgeous lip gloss. It has a subtle sweet flavour and a sheer brownish tint which is a good match for me (pale ginger with green eyes). I also like that the gloss doesn’t slip. All in all, this is a really good lipgloss! I paid £1 for it (Wilko, sale)

Onto Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Care Lip Balm! I’ve been enjoying this lip balm for a few months now, and it’s almost finished. Why is it good? It has a beautiful texture that glides on and provides a real hydration boost. I’ve even used it around my eyes and my nose to heal broken, flaky skin. One word of caution though – this lip balm has a strong ricinus oil scent – if that’s not your cup of tea, you won’t like this lip balm!

If you’re interested, this lip balm is available as a duo pack for £3.49. I paid just over £2 during a Save 1/3 promotion (which Superdrug runs most of the time). Also, this lip balm is vegan and certified cruelty-free as it carries the Leaping Bunny logo!

Malibu Sun Lip Care Vanilla Flavour is a decent lip balm. It has SPF30 – this is great in many ways. However, this also means that the lip balm stings on broken skin. This lip balm is nice for healthy lips, and I would recommend as a summer holiday lip balm. The sweet vanilla flavour is alright too. Malibu Sun Lip Balms are usually available in sets of 3 for about £1.99 (Home Bargains and other bargain stores although the price may be different).

Whilst this post is not a product comparison, let me rate these lip products from best to 3rd best = Essence lipgloss, Superdrug lip balm, Malibu Sun lip balm. But I like them all; there’s not a single stinker amongst these products!

100% Vegan & Cruelty-Free – Superdrug Vitamin E Moisture Boost Facial Serum

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Superdrug Vitamin E Moisture Boost Facial Serum which I’ve been using for 4 weeks now.

In addition to vitamin E, this serum contains a blend of natural fruit acids, vitamins A, B, F and H and horse chestnut extracts.

The serum claims to boost the skin’s hydration levels, to care for dry skin, to help stimulate cell renewal, and to shield the skin against environmental damange and premature ageing.

I think this serum is very good! I love the silky and nourishing formula. It’s absorbed almost instantly, and it feels amazing on my skin. It plays well with my eye cream, day and night cream, and with all of my other products, so no complaints here!

I’m also happy with how the serum makes my skin look – so dewy and refreshed! Wow! Definitely a step up from the Valjean Labs serum I finished last month.

Another thing I like is the iconic scent of the Vitamin E skin care range – so warm and tropical! I’m enjoying it so much! This serum is awesome, and I would recommend it!

Superdrug Vitamin E Moisture Boost Facial Serum is available as 50ml for £3.99. Superdrug often runs 3 for 2 promotions – which is when I bought the serum (along with 2 face mists). Also, this serum is 100% vegan and certified cruelty-free – it carries THE Leaping Bunny logo!

100% Vegan & Cruelty-Free – Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Care Original Moisturising Shower Cream

Hi there! Happy Wednesday! Today’s post is about this Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Care Original Moisturising Shower Cream.

This shower cream promises a rich lather that gently cleanses the skin without drying it out. It also claims to leave skin feeling softer.

I’ve been using this shower gel on and off for 3 weeks now, and I’m happy to report that I’m enjoying it.

The fragrance could be stronger – it’s Superdrug’s iconic Vitamin E fragrance after all. But apart from this, I have no reason to complain.

This shower cream feels amazing on my skin, and I can confirm that it’s not drying at all. Great stuff!

Now I wouldn’t say that this shower cream is actually moisturising, but I do feel comfortable skipping my regular body lotion or cream every once in a while when I use this shower cream.

Based on my experience, I would recommend this shower cream. I know I’ll buy it again, and I’m very interested in trying the other fragrances from this line!

Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Care Original Moisturising Shower Cream is available as 250ml for £2.29. I think I paid £1.20 each (half price offer), but Superdrug also does Buy One Get One Free every now and then on these products. Also – this product is suitable for vegans, and it’s certified cruelty-free as it carries the Leaping Bunny logo!

HAUL! New Products From No 7, M&S, Boots, Superdrug, Herbal Essences, Radox, Imperial Leather, Garnier & More

Hi there! Today’s post is about the majority of the products I bought before Christmas (or so). I’m saying majority because I didn’t take photos of everything I bought, and there’s some stuff I know I’ll only remember after posting. Without further ado, here’s the stuff:

Boots No7 Skincare Stars The Star Of The Show – this incredible set has products worth £149, but it was £39 for a few days in the run-up to Christmas.

Marks & Spencer Discover Spiced Bergamot, Pink Pepper, Soft Iris – these fragrances are vegan and certified cruelty-free. The set was £6.65 (30% off offer), but even the full price of £9.50 is a total steal for 3 x 30ml. I already reviewed this set.

M&S Discover Water Jasmine, Fresh Lychee, White Coconut – I’ll review this set soon. Same price and amount as above, and all these fragrances are vegan and certified cruelty-free as well!

Radox Perky Peach, Radox Mint To Be – I’m looking forward to trying these shower gels, although I made a mistake with the minty one. I ignored the name and the mint leaves, and I somehow assumed it would be a lime scent… 🤦‍♀️ These 400ml shower gels were about £1.30 each.

Imperial Leather Wild Thing, Imperial Leather Shake Your Bambootay – these 2 cute 250ml shower gels were 99p each. I’ve been using them for almost 2 weeks now, and the review will be up tomorrow!

Herbal Essences Bio Renew Micellar Water & Blue Ginger Shampoo & Blue Ginger Conditioner – these are in use too, and the review will be up on Friday! Oh, and these were £3 each!

I also bought plenty of face masks – but they were too many to list. I’ve already tried and reviewed some of them!

Boots Live + Be Awakening Glow Shower Cream, Boots Live+Be Beautiful Connection Bath Soak – I bought these and lots of other Live+Be products as it looks like the entire range is going to be discontinued. Really sad (and typical because I just discovered these last month). I already reviewed the 2 products above.

Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Care All Over Body Cream With Lavender – I bought this when Superdrug ran a Buy 1 Get 2nd Half Price promotion. They’re usually £4.99. I already reviewed this body cream.

Superdrug Vitamin Skin Care All Over Body Cream With Acacia Collagen (also £4.99) was the other product I got with the Buy 1 Get 2nd Half Price deal.

I bought 2 Superdrug Vitamin E Moisturising Shower Creams. I’ve never seen these before but it was time Superdrug finally made a shower gel with their iconic Vitamin E fragrance. These were £1.20 each (Better Than Half Price offer). Garnier Body’s Intensive 7 Days Ultra-Replenishing Lotion With Shea Butter was a repurchase. This is a big 400ml, and it was £2.49 (B&M Bargains).

Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Care All Over Body Cream With Hibiscus Extract was on a Save 1/3 offer. It’s usually £4.49 for a 465ml, but I paid £2.99.

And lastly, Boots Ingredients Glycolic Acid Toner, Boots Ingredients Niacinamide Serum and Boots Vitamin C Brightening Cleansing Gel. The first 2 products were £5, the cleanser was £4 but was actually free (3 for 2 offer).

The No 7 set was a bit more expensive (it wasn’t if you consider the actual value of the products in it), everything else was rather cheap! Have you tried any of these items? Would you like to try any of them? What have you bought recently? Feel free to get in touch via the comments. And thanks for stopping by! 😘
