Empties – March 2020

Hi there! Today’s post is my monthly Empties post. Read on if you’d like to know which products I said goodbye to in March 2020.

1 Imperial Leather Indulgence Rich Moisturising Body Wash Precious – I love this shower gel! It’s been discontinued, but I might have another bottle in my stash. Fingers crossed!

2 Café De Bain Raspberry & Rose Crème Tarte Softening Shower Crème – if you like sweet, foody shower gels, this one might be for you. I found this one hard to finish.

3 Calcot Manor The Perfect Day Shower & Bath Gel – I didn’t love this shower gel, and I won’t buy it again.

4 Boots No7 Protect & Perfect Beauty Serum (travel size, x2) – I found these (and 2 full sizes) when we got ready for the house move. These smelled and looked perfectly fine, so I was happy to use them. I love this stuff! Boots improved this serum a few times already, and I’ll buy the current version again, no doubt! But I’m now going to focus on the 2 full size serums I have left in my stash.

5 Boots Extracts Sweet Mango Body Butter (travel size) – I love Boots Extracts. I’m sad the collection was discontinued. But I’ve got a few more mango-scented products from this collection in my stash.

6 Nivea Soft Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream – I love this stuff! I’ll buy it again soon!

7 Superdrug Sweet Snuggles Vanilla Body Butter (travel size) – a lovely, rich vanilla body butter. It was a limited edition. Unfortunately, I can’t buy it again.

8 NSPA Fruit Extracts Pink Grapefruit Raspberry Face Wash – a decent face wash. I wouldn’t buy it again though as there are better products out there.

9 L’Oréal Elvive Full Restore 5 Repairing Conditioner – this is a good conditioner, but I don’t think I’l buy it again. L’Oréal has nicer hair products!

10 Cuticura Skin Balance Protective Hand & Nail Cream -my husband and I used this hand cream as a foot cream because we didn’t like its strange fragrance. It served our feet well, but I wouldn’t buy this product again.

11 Maybelline Dr. Rescue Base Coat – this is a decent base coat. If I can still find it at Poundland, I’ll buy it again.

12 L’Oréal Color Riche – J Lo’s Delicate Rose – the last few drops at the bottom of the bottle are too goopy to be used. I’m not going to buy this nail polish again as I have plenty of reds in my stash.

13 Lisseau Vanilla Body Butter – this is a nice body butter. I might buy it again.

I’ve also used a number of single-use face masks – if you’d like to look at my latest face mask finds, click here. 🙂

I finished quite a bit of skin care, and I’m really proud of myself for getting through a few travel-sized products too. Have you tried any of these products? Would you like to try them? Which products have you said goodbye to recently? Feel free to get in touch via the comments. And thanks for reading! 🙂

Empties – October 2019

Hi there! It’s a new day and a new month (Hello November!) – so today’s post is about all the products I said goodbye to in October. As always, I used a few single-use face mask, but I didn’t keep the empty sachets. If you’re interested in my latest face mask finds, click here. Now, let’s focus on the bigger bottles and tubs. 🙂

1 Boots Botanics All Bright Hydrating Night Cream – I had to bin this product because it caused me physical harm. 😲

2 Skin Care Chemist Macadamia Beauty Oil – this is a lovely oil. Not too heavy, suitable for warmer weather as well. I’d like to repurchase it, but I’d like to try other oils from this brand first.

3 Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Perfume Roll-On – this is a nice fragrance, and I think this is already the 2nd blood orange roll-on I’ve emptied, but I won’t buy it again.

4 Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Eye Cream – a lovely eye cream. I won’t pay full price for it (£18), but if it’s part of a reduced price gift set (I’m looking forward to the post-Christmas half price) sale, I’d be happy to have it again.

5 Classics Nail Polish Remover – my go-to nail polish remover. Priced at £1 for 400ml it’s a steal!

6 Body-X Endless Weekend Shower Gel – my husband and I enjoyed this shower gel, so this is a shared empty. I’d like to repurchase it!

7 Treacle Moon One Ginger Morning Shower & Bath Gel – another shower gel my husband and I enjoyed, and yes, this one’s another shared empty. I wouldn’t mind picking it up again next summer.

8 Manhattan Nail Whitener – not bad, but not great. I’d pick it up again for £1, but I wouldn’t spend more than that.

9 Superdrug B. Soft Multi Acid Retexturising Pads – these pads are great, but I won’t buy them again because the ones from Superdrug’s Naturally Radiant range are a tad better.

10 Superdrug Sweet Snuggles Lip Balm – a nice vanilla lip balm. I have a few more of these.

11 Essence Eyeliner Pencil 01 Black – my go-to eyeliner. I have a few more of these.

12 The Body Shop Italian Summer Fig Shower Gel – this is a very nice shower gel. I’d buy it again but TBS discontinued it!

13 Herbal Essences Classics Silk N’ Shine Conditioner – this is the best conditioner EVER. It’s been discontinued but I’ve got plenty of backup!

14 Garnier Skin Active Nourishing Botanical Toner With Honey Flower – this is a below average toner, and I won’t repurchase it.

I thought October would be terrible for empties, but with a bit of focus and dedication I managed to empty 7 products over the last 7 days. Success! 💪 Have you tried any of these products? Or would you like to try them? What have you emptied recently? Feel free to comment, and thanks for reading!

100% Cruelty-Free – Sweet Snuggles Christmas Cookie Body Scrub & Vanilla Body Butter

Hi there! Today’s post is about 2 Christmas-themed body products – Sweet Snuggles Christmas Cookie Body Scrub & Sweet Snuggles Vanilla Body Butter.

These products were part of a small gift set which I bought last year. I spotted the exact same gift set at Superdrug just a few days ago. So I decided to give these products a try!

Sweet Snuggles Christmas Cookie Body Scrub smells like… Christmas cookies! The scrub itself is nice as well. It’s easy to spread, it’s not too harsh, but it’s effective!

Sweet Snuggles Vanilla Body Butter is lovely. The body butter is very rich, and the fragrance is the sweetest, warmest and cuddliest spicy vanilla. Fantastic stuff!

Sweet Snuggles Christmas Cookie Body Scrub & Sweet Snuggles Vanilla Body Butter are available as part of Superdrug’s Sweet Snuggles Bathing Set which I saw on sale for £3.50 the other day. The body scrub and the body butter are 100ml each.

The Perfect Stocking Fillers For £1 – Superdrug Sweet Snuggles Lip Balms and Hands & Nails Sets

Hi there! Today’s post is about Superdrug’s Sweet Snuggles Lip Balm Set and Superdrug’s Sweet Snuggles Hand & Nail Set. I bought these two sets last year – for £1 each. And since Superdrug is now selling two almost identical sets (the design is a little different – but everything else is the same), I thought I’d tell you if they’re any good.
SD Sweet Snuggles Hand Nail Set2
Superdrug’s Sweet Snuggles Lip Balm Set consists of 3 lip balms. They’re vanilla-flavoured and they’re very nourishing. I also love the cute design – very fitting for the colder season! This year Superdrug is selling essentially the same lip balm set (as I said before, they chose a new design, but the name and the product are basically still the same) – and it’s available for £1. Considering the good quality of these lip balms, the set is a total steal!

Superdrug’s Sweet Snuggles Hand & Nail Set consists of a small 30ml hand lotion and a small emery board (= the perfect size for every cosmetic bag). I think the hand lotion is very nice. It’s wonderfully moisturising, but it’s not sticky at all. And it makes my hands feel so soft! I also like the delicious and sweet vanilla scent (it reminds me of Boots’ vanilla body butter). The emery board is nothing special – it does its job – like every other emery board. At the moment Superdrug does a near identical set (the emery board is the same, but this year’s hand lotion features a penguin image) wich is £1 only.

I would definitely recommend these little sets. They’re cute, they’re great stocking fillers, and the products are actually useful! I haven’t seen the new sets in store yet (online only), so I’m not sure about whether or not they carry the Leaping Bunny logo. My guess is that they do because last year’s sets were BUAV-approved, and they did carry the Leaping Bunny logo – and Superdrug’s own brand products are generally certified cruelty-free.

Cruelty-Free Last Minute Stocking Fillers For £1 – Superdrug Sweet Snuggles Lip Balms and Hands & Nails Sets

Hi there! I hope no one has to buy any emergency Christmas presents. But if you have to, and if you’re near a Superdrug store anyway, check out these Sweet Snuggles Lip Balms and Hands & Nails sets.
SD Sweet Snuggles Hand Nail Set
I think these sets are super cute – almost kawaii. The three lip balms feature images of a reindeer, a bunny and a fox. The hand cream also features a cute bunny image, and the nail file looks wintry as well.

The products are BUAV-approved, and they carry the Leaping Bunny logo. This means the products are cruelty-free! The best thing is these sets are £1 each!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

This Year’s Vegan & Cruelty-Free Secret Santa Gift To A Colleague – Sweet Snuggles 5 Piece Bathing Gift Set

Hi there! I’m taking part in this year’s Secret Santa at my workplace. And I was lucky to draw the name of a female colleague out of a mug. I knew I’d be going for a toiletries set anyway, so I bought this Sweet Snuggles 5 Piece Bathing Set.
Sweet Snuggles Body Care Set
This gift set contains 250 ml Vanilla Body Wash, 250 ml Vanilla Body Lotion, 100ml Double Choc Body Cream, 100ml Double Choc Body Scrub, and a pink body puff.

This Sweet Snuggles 5 Piece Bathing Set is £4.50 only at the moment. I think this is a really good deal considering the set contains full size products. So if you’re looking for a last minute Secret Santa gift for a female colleague, I think this gift set (which is available at Superdrug’s) would be a good idea.

Another plus: This set carries the Leaping Bunny logo. The products are cruelty-free and suitable for vegans!

I wouldn’t recommend… Sweet Snuggles Chocolate Vanilla Hand Cream & FCUK Pure Bodyspray

Hi there! This is my first post about stuff I wouldn’t recommend. I’ve done a few posts about products I wouldn’t repurchase, but I’m thinking that I might make it clearer in the title from now on. Now, let’s get to the products! Meet Superdrug’s Sweet Snuggles Chocolate Vanilla Hand Cream and FCUK Pure Bodyspray.
FCUK Body Spray & Sweet Snuggles Hand Cream
Superdrug’s Sweet Snuggles Chocolate Vanilla Hand Cream is a product I found in the bargain bin at my local Superdrug store. Whilst this cream does a good job moisturising my hands, the sickly sweet vanilla scent annoys me big time.

FCUK’s Pure Bodyspray is another product I regret buying. The fragrance contains notes of violet, pepper and vanilla. In theory, this doesn’t sound bad at all. In reality, I find this fragrance obnoxious. I tell you why…

At first there’s a blast of old-fashioned violets, the next thing my nose picks up is the smell of butcher – the intensity of the white pepper in this fragrance is beyond words. After a minute or two the  pepper note is gone and what remains is the scent of dried violets with a hint of candy vanilla. Not pleasant. At all.

I’ll give the hand cream and the bodyspray to a teenage relative who’s always happy to take all kinds of unwanted stuff off my hands. She loves sickly sweet scents in everything, so she might actually like these two products.
