100% Vegan – Yves Rocher Elixir Jeunesse Night Care

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Yves Rocher Elixir Jeunesse Night Care. This night cream promises to replenish skin and to restore its natural glow. It also claims to make lines and wrinkles appear smoother. And according to Yves Rocher, this product is vegan. I received a sample, so my review is based on a single use.

Yves Rocher’s facial skin care has generally left me unimpressed, but this product is actually very good! It provided plenty of lightweight hydration without being greasy. The cream felt great on my skin when I went to bed, and my skin felt soft, hydrated, smooth (!) and happy when I got up the next day. I was very impressed! I think this is a great night cream, and I would recommend it!

Yves Rocher Elixir Jeunesse Night Care is available as 50ml. Since Yves Rocher closed its UK operations due to the Brexit mess (I don’t blame them…), you’d either have to go through third party online retailers or you’d have to pick it up next time you’re abroad.

Yves Rocher 3 Min. Cranberry Cooling Effect Mask

Yves Rocher Cooling MaskHi there! Today’s post is about Yves Rocher’s 3 Min. Cranberry Cooling Effect Mask.

You’re supposed to apply the mask, leave it on for 3 minutes, and wash it off. Yves Rocher recommends the mask be used once or twice a week.

This face mask promises to refresh skin (‘radiant freshness’) thanks to its cooling effect, and to leave skin looking radiant. Does this mask deliver on its promise?

No, not really. First of all, this mask isn’t cooling. I was hoping it would feel fresh or cool, but it didn’t. Ah well…

I also didn’t notice any other effect. My skin didn’t feel or look different, so I’m not convinced that this mask does anything at all.

I will continue to use this face mask on a weekly basis. If I notice any positive effects in the future, I will let you know. However, as of now (after 4 uses) I’d say that I wouldn’t buy this mask again.

Yves Rocher’s Cranberry Cooling Effect Mask. is available as 50ml for £7.50. I got my mask for half price.

Yves Rocher Sérum Végétal Deep Wrinkle Expert Care Day / Night

YR sample Serum Vegetal2Hi there! Today’s post is about Yves Rocher’s Serum Végétal Deep Wrinkle Expert Care Day / Night which I received a sample of a while ago.

Neither the sample nor Yves Rocher’s web site give a lot of information about the product. So the only thing I know is that this product promises to be an expert care product that combats deep wrinkles with instant and long-lasting effects. Now, let’s take a closer look!

I used this cream after I had cleansed my face. I didn’t like the smell, but I liked applying it because it felt really good. And my skin felt soft and moisturised the entire day.

I cannot comment on any long-term effects on wrinkles. However, this cream didn’t have any instant effect on my (admittedly few) wrinkles. And I’m not really happy that this product doesn’t contain sunscreen.

I won’t purchase the full-size product. Priced at £31 for a 30ml tube I find Yves Rocher’s Serum Végétal Deep Wrinkle Expert Care Day / Night quite expensive. Olay has a similar product which costs a fiver, so I’ll be trying that one. However, if you’re interested in Yves Rocher’s products, keep your eyes peeled for half price or BOGOF promotions!

Yves Rocher Elixir 7.9 Luminosity Reactivator

Hi there! Today I’m reviewing another Yves Rocher sample – Yves Rocher Elixir 7.9 Luminosity Reactivator. At first I thought this product was a serum – but after I used it, I realised it wasn’t. Ah well, this kind of thing happens.

YR sample Elixir 7.92OK, so the fluid claims to reactivate skin energy and light. And it’s supposed to be applied every morning – after your regular moisturiser or on its own.

I cannot comment on whether this product has any anti-ageing benefits. That’s because I had a sample only.

Based on my experience using this product once, I can say it doesn’t have any immediate blurring effect on wrinkles or fine lines. But let’s get to the ‘luminosity’. 🙂

This product contains tiny shimmer particles which are supposed to reflect light and make your face appear fresh and luminous. The ‘luminous’ effect is only temporary – until you wash your face.

Since the product is called Luminosity Reactivator, I would expect some kind of skin improvement or an enhanced skin glow (or something…) over time. The product might actually achieve something like that – but Yves Rocher’s product description doesn’t mention anything.

What I liked about this product was the subtle, pleasant fragrance and the easy to apply formula. I think this product would work for most skin types. But if you have dry skin, I’d recommend you use your regular moisturiser as a base for this product. I didn’t find it moisturising enough on its own.

In addition, this product doesn’t contain sunscreen, so you need to make sure you protect your skin from the sun – ideally by applying a moisturiser with SPF before using this product.

I won’t purchase the full size product. It’s quite expensive, and Yves Rocher’s web site didn’t state if this product has any lasting benefits – so my guess is it hasn’t. And if I just want shimmer on my face, I can easily find something else (even with SPF) that’s much cheaper.

If you’d like to try it, Yves Rocher Elixir 7.9 Luminosity Reactivator is available as 30ml for £36. But Yves Rocher does half price and BOGOF deals all the time.

Yves Rocher Complete Anti-Age Global Serum

Hi there! Not too long ago I got this Complete Anti-Aging Serum sample from Yves Rocher’s Anti-Age Global product line. This serum claims to leave skin “delightfully soft and velvety”, and it’s meant to be used with the Anti-Age Global day cream. I didn’t get a sample of the day cream, though.

YR sample Anti Age Global Serum2I’ve now tried this serum (under my trusted Olay moisturiser) and I’d like to share my findings with you.

The formula of this serum is very thin, almost like water. I massaged it into my skin – very gently – until it had sunk in.

Unfortunately the serum didn’t feel great on my skin. It felt more like a mattifying moisturiser for oily skin. Unsurprisingly, this didn’t feel great on my dry skin at all.

In summary, my skin didn’t feel velvety or soft. My skin actually felt tight and in desperate need of a moisturiser. I left my skin and the serum alone for a few minutes because I had to know if the product would change for the better. But it didn’t.

I also checked my face in the mirror to see whether the serum had any instant smoothing properties. But that’s another no. (So I gave up and put some moisturiser on my skin.) On a positive note, the serum smelled pleasant and it didn’t sting or burn.

Based on my experience with this product, I wouldn’t recommend it. Yes, I used the serum once only. But that was enough for me to be sure I won’t be buying the full size product.

If you want to give this Complete Anti-Aging Serum from Yves Rocher’s Anti-Age Global product line a try, the 30ml bottle is available for £50. Yves Rocher does half price and BOGOF deals all the time, but I’d definitely recommend you ask for a sample before blind-buying this product.

Yves Rocher Mango Passionfruit Smoothie Limited Edition Eau de Toilette

YR Mango PassionfruitHi there! Today’s post is another fragrance post. I spotted this Yves Rocher Mango Passionfruit Smoothie Limited Edition Eau de Toilette for just under £3 online. Of course, I had to have it.

So this fragrance contains notes of mango and passionfruit – it’s quite simple really. The scent is sunny, yellow, exotic and fruity and it reminds me of generic fruity shampoos and shower gels, and fruity ice lollies. It’s obviously not a ‘serious’ perfume.

I’ve been using this fragrance for the past three days now and I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not for me. A young relative (she just turned 16) will hopefully be happy to take it off my hands. 🙂

I believe that this Yves Rocher Mango Passionfruit Smoothie Limited Edition Eau de Toilette has been discontinued, so you won’t find it easily. However, if you’d like to try it, you should check online.

Yves Rocher Youthful Glow Foundation

Hi there! I received a sample of Yves Rocher’s Youthful Glow Foundation Beige 200 Teint Clair.  This foundation contains smoothing pearls wrapped in rose extracts which are said to have an ‘optical correction’ effect for smoother and more radiant skin.
YR Youthful Glow Foundation
I have to say that this foundation feels incredibly smooth and silky. The foundation is buildable, provides medium coverage and does not gather in fine lines. The shade is a natural beige with yellow undertones. Whilst this shade is way too dark for my skin tone, I cannot find any faults with this foundation and would strongly recommend it, especially if you’re looking for a foundation that does not highlight fine lines or wrinkles.

If you would like to give Yves Rocher’s Youthful Glow Foundation a try, it is available as 30 ml for £29. It’s rather expensive, but Yves Rocher does half price and BOGOF offers all the time. 🙂

Yves Rocher Pure Light – Light and Luminous Foundation Beige 200

Hi there! I received a sample of Yves Rocher’s Pure Light – Light & Luminous Foundation Beige 200. This foundation claims to have a second skin effect and to enhance skin’s radiance and softness. So I put it to the test.

Let’s start with what’s good. The foundation is easy to apply and it feels very silky and smooth on my dry skin. Its scent is subtle and pleasant. The shade is a true beige with yellow undertones – it is not orange at all.YR sample Light Luminous
Now here’s what I didn’t like. This foundation provides light coverage only. Those who want or need medium to full coverage would be disappointed. I also found Beige 200 way too dark for me. Whilst I am a pale girl, I wouldn’t expect the 2nd lightest shade of a foundation line to be this dark.

If you have near flawless skin and if you want a foundation with light coverage only, you may want to try this one. Yves Rocher’s Pure Light – Light & Luminous Foundation is available as 30 ml for £21. It’s quite pricey, but Yves Rocher does half price or BOGOF offers all the time.

Yves Rocher Hydra Végétal Gel Creme

2015 YR sample hydra vegetalHi there! I’ve tried this Yves Rocher Hydra Végétal Gel Cream sample a couple of days ago. This product for normal and combination skin claims to provide 24 hour hydration and it says it’s paraben-free.

I expected a light, fresh gel formula and a green, refreshing scent. Wrong! The cream was actually very rich (I’ve got dry skin, so I’m not complaining) and it smelled warm and honeyed. This wasn’t bad at all, but it was just not what I expected.

What I liked: I thought the cream felt really nice on my face. When I applied the cream, I knew that it would moisturise my skin very well. While I wouldn’t say it kept my skin hydrated for 24 hours, it did a pretty decent job for more than 12 hours and I didn’t feel the need to reapply during the day.

What I didn’t like: The cream doesn’t have sunscreen. I know some people prefer their face creams to be SPF-free, but I need sunscreen. I also think this cream is not the best base for make-up as it’s quite rich.

To sum it up: This is a really nice face cream for women who like to go make-up free and who want a SPF-free day cream. Yves Rocher Hydra Végétal Gel Cream is available as 50 ml for £13.50.
